They have been doing the maintenance agreement on it for the last three years. My unit started acting up on July 13, 2023 so so called them out. They said the TXV valve needed to be replaced and charged me $581 in labor to change out a valve that took 2 hrs at the most to change. A few hours went by and I noticed the unit was still not cooling properly so the mechanic came back out and discovered that he didn't put enough coolant in the first time. He added more coolant and then the unit seem to work OK for the next few days, but went right back to struggling to keep the house at 72° and would not drop below 75. Had them back out the third time and this time they blamed it on too much Freon. After adjusting the coolant level later, that day, I noticed that it still was not cooling down to 72°. True Blue refused to come back out and told me to get a second opinion. I would never ever use these guys again. This unit is only 4 1/2 years old and prior to them coming out on July 13 it it always operated efficiently and would shut off quickly for the last three years. Not even sure the TXV valve was bad in the 1st place. I will also tell you that they did a horrible job of coming out to service the unit twice a year because two of their techs tried to get away without taking off the top of the unit and clean the fins from the inside out on the exterior unit. They regularly turn over there techs and the general manager is very rude and just looks for any reason to blame the homeowner instead of standing behind the unit's warranty and taking ownership of the situation. Very unprofessional company. Even their phone personnel are rude and short with you. do yourself a favor and skip over True Blue's phone number. One of the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with.

Dowd's bid was complete with two alternatives, one with an air handler only and one with a gas furnace backup. The job was complete in a day and the installation was neat and professional. Clean up was good. Of the bids I received Dowd's bid was the most complete. One competitor, bidding the same equipment, was almost double the bid I received from Dowd. So far the system handled both 13° and 95° days in stride. My old system caused variations in the temperature from room to room of +- 5-7° now with this system the variation is around 1°. The gas furnace never turned on during the colder stretch. Very pleased.
