The tech was great, the Dr was not personal able and friendly like my last Dr. now on to another tech that was putting the order in for my new glasses, she was awful. Told me my glasses were for distance & reading & suggested transition lenses. I paid for that. I get the glasses & they have transitions lenses & are for the computer & reading but I can only read something that is 2 inches from my face!! I tell them while I'm there something is wrong, "oh just try them" I call back. Fast forward to I get a refund for the transitions & they are remade to just computer glasses but now I'm stuck with my 2 year old glasses for reading & distance & now I have to wait 2 years to have another appt. We only received the prescriptions after my daughter had to call and request them. When the prescriptions were finally emailed, the PD/pupillary distance was missing from both prescriptions. When I called after my daughter had called to request the PD, I was told the patient had to come back in person and sign something before the PD could be released. This is extremely inconvenient and unnecessary, especially when the patient needs glasses and cannot see clearly. Their glasses were also very expensive, the frame selection for my husband was very limited, and our insurance did not cover the glasses there, so we had to purchase glasses elsewhere. The missing prescription information and PD runaround made that process so much harder than it needed to be. Patients should leave an eye exam with their prescription without having to ask or sign anything, and they should not have to jump through extra hoops just to buy glasses somewhere else. The process felt like a lack of transparency and a barrier to shopping for glasses outside of their office. I would not recommend this office to anyone wo wants a simple, clear, and patient-friendly experience. By the way, I still do not have the PD to any of my husband's or daughter's prescription and probably won't get it. FYI - The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) says patients must receive their eyeglass prescription immediately after the exam, at no extra charge, without having to ask, so they can shop around. The FTC says suspected Eyeglass Rule violations should be reported at ReportFraud.ftc.gov

Our appointment was at 4:15 and we were pulled back at 4:20 for our first rounds of testing/questions before we saw the doctor. The staff was polite and attentive. We returned to the lobby and continued to look at frames. I have a teenager, so I was grateful for the extra looking time. The only thing that concerned me was that it was probably around 445pm at this point (they close at 6) and they had a lobby full of people waiting to purchase/ adjust glasses. The doctor pulled us back relatively quickly after our first go around of testing, and then did the actual exam. She had a wonderful bedside manner and was thorough. We returned to the lobby while an older woman with grey hair handled the massive crowds out front. Now closer to 515/530 I was getting even more nervous about my child's glasses not being ordered, and us having to come back. When the older woman asked for a staff member to assist her , the other staff (very short dark hair, medium built woman with glasses) was being disrespectful and talking in a negative manner about helping in the back (the corner where they keep supplies) we heard her because we were by the desk waiting. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. The second staff member came out - though it seemed unwillingly to assist, and the older associate helped us. She was also kind and thorough. We were told that the glasses would be available the week of the 16th. We got the glasses picked up on the 14th, and they fit wonderfully. The desk staff was polite and made sure that her glasses were adjusted accordingly. $199 for the frames, $140 for the exam. We got the anti blue light and the warranty, about $390 after taxes. However, if you wish to purchase your eye glasses elsewhere they retain your Pupillary Distance (PD) number (two-digit millimeter measurement) from your prescription and charge $35 for this information. Mind you, this process takes them no more than 2 minutes and is part of your appointment regardless. And this number is part of MY PRESCRIPTION. This would be like your primary care provider retaining the dosage from your prescribed medication if you do not purchase from their pharmacy and charging you outside of your insurance coverage as an extra fee. This should be illegal or something. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

We always get in quick and appointments are easy to make with same day appointments available. I have also been with Dr. Harwood for about the same amount time and I love her. She's always ready for my thousand questions and helps me with anything I need. Appointments are sometimes hard to get but not always. Sometimes I may be trying to get through and it can take a minute but the office staff have always been great. We love the doctors we've seen and Pratt and appreciate them very much.
