The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. The school's owner and teachers are knowledgeable and check in on the students and clients, offering pointers to improve the student's technique, as well as checking in on the client. The students are all top notch, especially my girl, Tay. She's been an absolute angel working on me. When I first met her, I had significant anxiety about where I was having work done but, the moment she introduced herself, I knew I was safe and in good hands. To quote her at the end of my first session with her: "I knew why you came in and what you wanted done, so I went ham on you." Bless her. She's done most of the work on me, and her work ethic and method is absolutely top-notch. She was born to do electrolysis. Once she graduates, I see myself continuing to get work done by her. I've had work done on me by three other students. My experience with them, and all of the work done by them was absolutely exemplary. 5 Star service from Stevie!…read more My daughter came home from school Monday showing me that a piece of her cork came off. Unfortunately for us, she also had an upcoming band concert Wednesday evening. All of the other local music shops told me it would take 4 days to a week or more to repair. From the moment I stepped in to the first Audition I saw nothing but pure professionalism from Ms. TJ, Ms. Daisy, and the entire staff. At 4 years old, this was my daughter's first experience in a schooling environment away from her parents, so needless to say I was a bit nervous to leave her. But the smile on her face when I picked her up the first day, and the speed with which she picked up the skills of acting and modeling during the weeks that followed spoke volumes about her teacher, Miss Daisy's, teaching abilities. She would always tell me that Miss Daisy was very sweet and she learned a lot from her. Miss Daisy was great at keeping the children engaged despite their youthful attention spans. She was able to show my child her potential in a very loving way, creating an up building and positive environment for the kids and, consequently, my daughter has thrived in her acting abilities in a very short amount of time. She also did a great job keeping us parents involved and informed as to the homework assignments and needs for the program. She was readily available whenever I called or texted her, which showed that she cares a lot for her students and is committed to doing her utmost for them. As a 15- year Producer/Director I commend West Coast Talent for the way that you have formed my daughter, preparing her for our most competitive and difficult industry. I will always be grateful to you for the big head start that you have given my little girl has on her career. I didn't find this the least bit useful. It was just us students taking turns to read from a book. This I thought we could do ourselves. I would prefer we got a chapter to read and discuss it the next day or get tested on it. Other than that, I have no complaints. Andrea is courteous and likable and so is Ms. Julie. The good thing about becoming a CNA was that it would come in handy for nursing school. I'm in my 4th (4/5) semester at an RN program. Being a CNA gave my application a little boost since my program uses the point system. Don't waste your time taking a CNA course at a community college. You're wasting four months of your life on something you can do in 4 weeks.
