He stated it would be a week or two for the first draft after he has received the blueprints on the home, which he had within the next couple of days. Over 7 weeks later there has been no communication with the builder or me and no first draft has been presented. The builder has chased with emails to no avail and he has likely cost that company well north of 100k in revenue. Perhaps this job was too small for Tom to bother with, in which case he should not have accepted it.

BEC Innovations had my previous review removed from Yelp, so I am amending to reflect the…read moreguidelines. I would not recommend hiring BEC if you care about your neighbors. This company is a menace to the neighborhoods they work in. In 2024, BEC purchased and flipped the house next door to mine, and thus began one of the worst months-long experiences I've had in the home I've lived in for over a decade. The crews they contracted to work on their property were rude and inconsiderate, leaving their beer cans in my yard on more than one occasion, blocking our small residential street on both sides (making it difficult for me to leave my own driveway), and consistently working outside of the hours permitted by the local noise ordinance (causing a disturbance to me personally, who again lives right next door to this house). After one particularly frustrating incident where they parked their truck in their front yard and shined its high beams directly into MY living room window for over an hour, I called the BEC office and spoke with someone on the phone about these issues. They were apologetic and relayed the info to the site's project manager, who came out to speak to me directly. She even bought us pizza as a peace offering, which I appreciated and accepted in the hopes this would be the last of our problems. But then a week later, I came home from work in the middle of the day and found BEC's crew had run an extension cord from MY home's outside outlet to their power tools without my permission. I immediately called the PM, who did apologize again, but it was never resolved and nothing else happened as they wrapped construction the same week. I went back to compare my electricity bills over the last several years and found that my energy usage spiked for months with no other explanation, which means the utility theft was likely more than a one-off by a rogue crew member. Whether BEC directly knew or not, they should have better control of the crews they hire. Yelp's email alerting me that my review had been taken down stated "We typically remove reviews that don't focus on the reviewer's firsthand experiences as a customer of the business." So let me be very clear - this business stole from me personally, using my utilities without permission, and left their trash on my property. I am relaying my firsthand experience with their poor management and unethical business practices. If BEC continues to try taking down my honest review, I will only become more steadfast in my commitment in warning people against using this company.

We were told it would be completed in 2 weeks once construction began, it took more like two months with all the mistakes made by the contractor and an additional few more months to get one window for upstairs. We we're sold a product in the beginning of superior customer satisfaction and quality design and well as structure for our log home. We were persuaded to use their builders because "if anything goes wrong we back them" is what the company (Josh) told all of us at the Log raising event before we made our decision. The builders that we were assigned were unprofessional and cut corners AT OUR EXPENSE we were left with large gaping holes between logs where they were just not pushed together properly and cut too short to fit. I took picture and complained but we were told they would come back and "fix" the problem. When they came back they just shoved the holes full of caulking and called it good. The contractor was rude and verbally attacked my husband calling him a cheat and a liar several times. When we were asked to pay the final amount for the labor we told them why we felt that this was not ok. We felt like we were sold a retail priced home with the promise of integrity from their company but were left with a slapped together log cabin with literal holes in it that felt at best second hand...they asked us what amount we thought was fair. Against my good judgement, we told them an amount of $3000 seemed fair to us for all the problems. They came back and told us they would do $1500 off. Ten percent of the remaining labor costs...10%?!?! Really?!?! We felt disgruntled at best. We let them know. There was no change. We were left very dissatisfied. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HONEST ABE LOG HOMES OUT OF MOSS, TN!!!!
