PISSED at this place on behalf of my Mum.
My Mum went here over two years ago to get a stem-cell injection treatment in her shoulder. It seemed to really help her over time, but she realized recently that she was in need of yet another treatment.
She went in yesterday to have this done. She experienced a lot more pain during the procedure this time. She was given two prescriptions to help with sleep/pain. When she went to pick them up, they informed her that the pain medication was written incorrectly and she could not have it. She tried over and over to reach someone at their office, thinking that they may have an answering service that took care of emergencies, but they didn't. My Mum has a pretty darn high pain tolerance, but she was literally in tears from the pain and had to resort to taking a shot of alcohol to try and help her sleep (she NEVER drinks, but was out of options and was in THAT much pain).
She woke up this morning in pain (still) and calls them, explaining what had happened the night before when she tried to get her pain medication. They receptionist said that the doctor wouldn't be in til later and that she would get with him about the issue. My Mum got a call almost an hour and a half later. She thought they were calling to tell her she could pick up her new script but was disappointed to hear them calling to collect money from the day before, and wasn't calling to address her pain whatsoever. It wasn't even that they were calling to collect, but they informed her that her bill was $1,900!!! The same treatment she received two years prior was $700. They flippantly said, "Oh yah, we've raised our prices a few times since your last treatment. We are still the cheapest in town." My Mum was confused as to why this wasn't mentioned AT ALL during her check-in/paperwork process prior to having the treatment done. This was totally unfair and outrageous! That's something that you mention to your patients, the PRICE! My Mum then changed the subject to a very big issue she was still dealing with: The lack of pain medication. They said that the doctor was meeting with some legal people and when he is alone, she will bring it up to him, as well as the price difference issue we had. My Mum also brought up the fact that she didn't know how to care for her incisions post-op and wasn't sure if she was doing the right things to ensure her recovery. They said, "It looks like that info was left in your chart."
I'm sorry, but isn't the health, wellness and full recovery of your patient PRIORITY!? They don't mention the price change whatsoever (it went from $700 to $1,900 - minor detail, right?), the doctor mis-writes her pain prescription so she is in dire pain and can't sleep the night of the procedure and has to resort to taking a shot of alcohol to help her sleep (and does NOT drink), then she has to keep reaching out over and over to try to get someone to care about her pain relief! And don't forget the lack of after-care instruction. If she were to get an infection or a snag in her recovery, this place would be liable. They don't seem to care one bit about the wellness, care or recovery of the patients. They called her for the money, but didn't seem to think it was a big deal to let her continue to be in pain, with no relief. I really hope she doesn't have to return to this place because it's obvious that they couldn't care less about her and her well-being! read more
