First and foremost, Brian Kenedy is a dream to work with! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable,…read morehe gently steps people, no matter how ignorant, through the mortgage process with grace and ease. I was so ignorant when I started, but by the end, when I signed the papers locking in my rate, I felt confident because I knew what I was doing. He explains every step very clearly and leads people in the right financial direction based on their income, savings, and assets. Most importantly, he saved my husband and me over 2,000 USD in origination fees. Because he works for himself, he does not have the overhead costs a bank or mortgage firm has. This means the bank pays him; you do not. Moreover, after doing several price comparisons, it was evident that the rates he landed were as good or better than other companies and banks. Don't waste your money. It pays to at least contact Brian and see what he can do for you. When we purchase our next home, we will go back to Brian. We couldn't have asked for a better deal or experience.

Raleigh Mortgage Group single handedly saved our homebuying process, and my biggest regret is not…read morestarting with them. We first connected with Alayna Weaver from Raleigh Mortgage Group during the preapproval process, while we were comparing rates among lenders. We eventually got a rate too good to pass up from a large commercial bank and went with them, thanking RMG for their help. The loan process from this bank ended up being a complete disaster, where problems arose last minute over things we should have been told weeks earlier. With closing coming up, and our trust in the bank fully broken after a week of fruitless back-and-forth, we decided to get our mortgage elsewhere, but it needed to be fast. I reconnected with Alayna, who gave us a sanity check by confirming the bank was being ridiculous, and snapped into action to help us. Within 36 hours, we had a fantastic rate in hand and were set up with a mortgage processor. Each time we ran into a problem, Alayna - who was readily available via text, phone, and email - as well as others at RMG (Hayley Jackson) and the processing team (Corry O'Neill and Kristina Polson) provided alternate choices or simply solved the problem. We closed on time and have our house, and we have them to thank. There are two morals here: 1. Commercial banks won't lift a finger to help you originate a mortgage, so only apply with them if you feel lucky. 2. If you need a mortgage in North Carolina, call Raleigh Mortgage Group.

Patrick is an…read moreexpert in all things real estate and lending--he walked me through every option available, from renovation and construction loans to standard mortgages, while also sharing insights on market rate trends, insurance providers, and smart loan strategies. He was always available for a call, even at odd hours and on weekends, and held my hand through every step of the process, which made things so much easier as a first time homebuyer. What stood out the most was his honesty and integrity. Even though he had the best rates and offers on the table, at the very last moment I received a discounted offer through my employer which was too good to beat. Patrick reviewed every competing option with me and genuinely advised that the employee discount was the better fit for my situation--even though it meant he wouldn't get my business. That level of customer care is rare, and it speaks volumes about his character. Patrick was always available for a phone call, saved me a huge amount of time and money with his guidance, and went above and beyond to make sure I felt confident in my decision. If you want someone who puts your best interest first, I can't recommend Patrick and Exhale Lending enough. He's the real deal.

Elizabeth we are very sorry you had a bad experience with our team. We take pride in top notch…read morecustomer service and are a top producing team with Prime Lending with many satisfied and repeat clients. Our business is 100% referral based, so every loan and client is important to us. I would like to note a few things specific to your loan: James handles all of our downpayment assistance loans which is why your calls were directed to him. Your loan was one of the first NC Housing Finance Agency Downpayment Assistance Loans for our team (June of 2010) http://www.nchfa.com/. So we were learning along with you. I believe you had tried a few other lenders first who were unwilling to do a loan with down-payment assistance, since it requires significantly more time and work on the part of a lender. Prime had approved your loan, but when the loan went to NC Housing for final approval, they required the final repairs that Prime didn't. We would never laugh at your request to pay for these repairs; however we aren't in a position to pay for repairs needed on your home. Your home inspection should have brought these to your attention prior to an underwriter requiring them. They were items I am sure you would have wanted to fix once you were in your new home. Although your loan closed with Prime, it was always slated for NC Housing Finance Agency who provided the $4000 in down payment assistance and they have their own pool of investors which is where your loan was sold. Prime doesn't sell your personal information, but home sales are recorded, so your information is on public record and available to anyone who chooses to look for people with a recent home purchase in order to solicit their business. We are not "just after your money". We do these as well as other difficult loans, because we truly care about our clients and want to help them achieve the dream of homeownership. We now require additional time on these loans due to our learning experience with you, but being new to NC Housing, we tried to accommodate your desire for a quick closing. We make it a point of pride to close our loans on time, and regret your loan closed 5 days late due to the secondary underwriting and repairs required by NCHFA. James attended your closing rather myself, since he felt he had so much vested in your loan. Between us, we try our best to attend everyone of our closings in person, and look at our clients as lifelong friends. We sincerely hope you have found happiness in your new home, and hope that the $4000 in down payment assistance made your dream of home ownership a reality you and your family will treasure for years to come. Sincerely, Jean Hedges (919) 334-9030

Several things fell through with them- things they said we didn't need done in order to get our loan for our house but little by little as we got closer and closer to our close date things that 'weren't needed' were and we had to keep spending and spending to get our loan that we could have had the sellers do but we were too late to ask. When I insisted they pay or help pay for some of the things they insisted we didn't need done at first- they were RUDE and thought it was a joke to even be asked. We could never get a hold of Jean and her son hardly knew what he was doing and wouldn't do a thing without her consent- which again she could never be reached. Even to the close date she was terrible! She didn't even show up for the close. Our loan was sold by Prime Lending before we even settled in our home and they sold our information to other companies and we get junk mail everyday with the junk mail even stating that they were sold our information by them. It was a terrible and heart breaking mistake to use them. Their business is a sham and the hedges are just out to get your $.
