I've done a refinance through Pathway Mortgage Group, and it started off very well. I got a call…read morefrom Barb talking about how good of an idea it is to refinance, and how I can save money on interest rates, etc. I was promised a quick, painless process that would get me the lowest rate on the market (that came out to be true). Then I was told that if I "close" the refinance before a certain date, I do not have to pay the interest, which would save me a good $500-800. On top, I was promised to expect a "small gift" coming to my house right after closing. Well come closing date, the closing date gets moved with no explanation. Now the attorney is asking me as to what's going on, and I have no clue and no success at getting in contact with PMG. The closing date gets moved by a whole week, then another 3 days. At this point I knew I would have to pay the interest, and was regretting my decision to refinance. Finally, I get a call back from PMG stating the facts about my closing, with no explanation as to why they ghosted me. Come closing day, I go in to sign the papers, and sure enough at this point I owe more than $600 in interest. Mind you, my closing attorney tells me this, as PMG did not call to go over the closing statement or explain any of the charges. I was sitting at the attorneys office, calling PMG and asking about each number they put on there. What a nightmare, and embarrassment. Here's my outtake: PMG is great at finding the lowest interest rates on mortgages. In terms of paper work, it was easy. However, communication with clients needs serious improvement. Also, I would have really appreciated if they simply said, "we are sorry we delayed your closing date costing you money". Instead they went with the approach of not calling back and completely ignoring my questions. On top of all this never received a gift or even as much as a thank you note for refinancing through them. Customer service needs work. I hope this helps anyone else looking to refinance through them.

Not only is he extremely knowledgeable,…read morehe gently steps people, no matter how ignorant, through the mortgage process with grace and ease. I was so ignorant when I started, but by the end, when I signed the papers locking in my rate, I felt confident because I knew what I was doing. He explains every step very clearly and leads people in the right financial direction based on their income, savings, and assets. Most importantly, he saved my husband and me over 2,000 USD in origination fees. Because he works for himself, he does not have the overhead costs a bank or mortgage firm has. This means the bank pays him; you do not. Moreover, after doing several price comparisons, it was evident that the rates he landed were as good or better than other companies and banks. Don't waste your money. It pays to at least contact Brian and see what he can do for you. When we purchase our next home, we will go back to Brian. When I needed him the most, he was not there for me. November 7, 2024, my husband and I were in a serious auto accident where we were rear-ended by another State Farm customer. While the other driver was immediately found to be at fault, I have been having to fight with State Farm every step of the way. For the first two months, Chad was not able to spare even 5 minutes to speak with me. Then, when he did start talking with me, he gave me wrong information. So, after 3 months of going nowhere with the claim, Chad's office tells me that I should have filed under my own insurance as they would have more insight as to what was going on with claims, could help more, and I could use the "Appraisal" clause. Three MONTHS after telling me not to file under my own insurance. I open a claim under my insurance, and was able to settle on the total loss of my car for more money than was originally offered, but much less than my car was worth at the time of the accident. Once we settled on the total loss of our car, we went out and purchased another car. Upon picking the car up, I called Chad's office to get the new car insured. They took the information and assured me the new car was covered. Two weeks later, I am looking at my account and notice that my old car is still listed and my new one is not listed. I call and speak with Chad's office and they FORGOT to put the insurance through on the new car. I had been driving around with only the "grace period" coverage on my car. We ended up switching to a new state farm agent and went into their office to set up insurance on the new car and was told it was completed. Several weeks later we found out that the same thing happened and the new car was not put on our policy and we were driving uninsured. This has been a full-time job dealing with State Farm and all the hoops they have made and are continuing to make me jump through. If it was not for my persistence and daily calls, I do not think we would have had any settlement on the car. State Farm will do everything they can to not pay a claim and when do offer a settlement, it will be far less than what is fair. We are now going to have to deal with the medical claims and I expect more problems. Getting an attorney and having them take 1/3 of the offer off the top was not a viable option. The only thing State Farm is good at is collecting their money every month, but what good is insurance if they don't pay out on a claim when something happens?
