River Street Ranch - RIVER STREET RANCH, San Juan Capistrano, CA!

River Street Ranch

I saw a video about this place on social media and saved it…read moreFor later, since it looked like a fun place to take my son. He is almost 6 years old, and I'm always looking for fun ideas/things we can do on weekends. We drove here from Santa Monica (about an hour). Parking is located a few minutes away from the farm. Keep moving down the trail, and you will find it. We bought tickets online, so the check-in process was easy. We purchased a veggie basket to feed the animals, and we paid some extra $$$ so my son can ride the tractor and play on the excavator. There is also a playground on site and a horse ride. It was nice, but after an hour, my son asked to leave. Younger kids will enjoy it more. It took us 1.5 hours to drive back, so we spent more time on the road than actually experiencing the farm. What I like is that there are variety of shops and restaurants around the farm, and it's cute. Boutiques to shop for jewelry, clothes, shoes, HomeGoods, all kinds of stuff, so that was really nice.

Came by River Street Ranch and honestly... a bit overrated…read more It's a smaller spot than expected, so don't come in thinking it's a full-on big attraction. You can get through everything pretty quick. That said, it's still a nice place to check out if you're already in the area or want something easy to do with kids. The setup is clean and organized, and there's enough little things to keep it interesting for a short visit. Think more "quick stop" than "plan your whole day around it." Overall, it's decent, not a must-go destination, but not bad either. Good to add to your list if you're nearby and just want something simple to do.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park - Party Room #2!

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

(452 reviews)

We had one of the worst possible scenarios for my daughter's bday…read more.. We apparently booked a party room in the wrong location (in New York!!). Hearing that, we had to figure out how to make a party of 15 guests work for a 8 year old, completely excited girl ready to have a blast with her friends My husband went in person and immediately asked for the manager. Jonathan heard our dilemma and offered to help us out. Unfortunately there were no party rooms available. But He set aside 3 tables at the back of the park, gave us table covers and everything as if we were having the party in a room. He got pizzas made, drinks and checked our party in. Jonathan took care of us without hesitation and my daughter and her friends had a BLAST! Our Sunday flop day turned into a great day to remember. Thanks to Jonathan and his team for making it possible

We just had our son's 8th birthday party here last weekend. The entire party experience was…read moreflawless. Booking online was a breeze and each staff member I spoke with when finalizing numbers was extremely helpful. We loved that all of the plates, cups, and utensils were included, as well as pizza and drinks. All we had to bring was our cake and some extra snacks for the kiddos. When we showed up on our day, the staff that handled the check-in process was kind and helpful. They provided a rack on rollers to store all of our guest's birthday gifts, which made it really easy to roll everything out to our car at the end of our party time. We also had a party attendant that took care of all of the set up, food serving, and clean up. This is where our day really shined! Sky Zone Mission Viejo managers, listen up: Ryan P....this dude was legendary! We could really tell how much he loves his job. He helped us load our stuff in, carried our cooler up and down the stairs, and eased the set up tremendously. That was all great, but the way he interacted with the kids was next level! He brought up balloons and played keep away. The way he served the kids pizza by dropping it on their plates was making them all laugh hysterically. His energy and enthusiasm went far beyond what we could have ever expected and we appreciated him so much! He really made everyone, including our son, feel special. Give this man a raise! Now about the trampoline park itself....let's face it....it's chaos. Full and pure chaos. Kids everywhere. Noise decibel level 1,000. You can't hear yourself think. But it is what it is and it comes with the territory. More importantly, it's clean and the kids had an absolute blast! 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a high energy birthday party and don't want to put a lot of effort into planning.

Child Creativity Lab - CCL's enterance

Child Creativity Lab is somewhere where kids can build and create crafts and mixed media sculptures…read morewith re-purposed items and have the best time doing it. Child Creativity Lab takes donated every day items (Lego pieces, empty prescription containers, bottle caps, buttons, wine corks, new popsicle sticks as well as excess items from various companies (excess fabric, plastic bottles, paint, pins, tacks, glue, zippers, etc.) and they put them together in a package so that kids can assemble them them and create a figure like a robot or animal out of all the parts. Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take. You can also arrange to do a service event here with your organization, they have people come in every week to help out. We need more places like this in all communities!
