Her father and I realized a changed in her attitude and she would refuse to go inside the classroom scream and cry even if we brought up the class she would say she wanted to go to a new school. Brought it up to the administrator and asked to have her class changed , she was very hesitant and never changed our daughters classroom from that point on we knew something was not right. Her father asked to see the cameras in the classroom to find out why her attitude had changed. We realized two Teachers in class three Had physically put their hands on our daughter and no one owned up to what happened no one acknowledged what happened. After seeing the video Ms.Black didnt even a Acknowledge my daughter or welcome her in the class. Ever nasty personality & very unprofessional . Ms. Franklin is very mean to the children. so I had to make a complaint and take my daughter out of the school. They are not as kind as they seem. I'll advise any parent to demand to see the cameras if your child attitude has changed in that school. Their needs to be consequences for teachers who are seen on camera mistreating the children.

If there are any conflicts among the children they let you know at pick-up. They cater a hot lunch from a local Russian deli, which includes a soup, protein and vegetable. Far easier than sending your own lunch, and far healthier than any other daycare I visited - no chicken fingers and fries here. They are open later than most; follow a classroom environment with lesson plans for even the youngest class; great helping with potty training; get the kids outside every day (weather permitting); plan fun fieldtrips in the summer. The only drawback is the older facility, but there has been updates to A/C units, new flooring, etc., and they do have entrance security. If we had a third, we would not hesitate to send them to AdventureLand.

The woman in charge has really helped both my boys learn a lot. They've become more social and know how to interact with other children (sharing, taking turns, etc.). She worked with me and helped my 2yr old with potting training, which I think is a plus. He also knows the colors, numbers, alphabets, and more. She really works with the children and teaches them new skills. In the summer time, they take trips to the park. So they aren't always stuck in the house. Everyday is a lesson and my boys have reported have a good day every day that they have attended and attend now. Overall I am satisfied with this daycare and would recommend it to other parents, especially those in the neighborhood.

A few weeks ago my wife and I visited this school to see if it was a good fit for our child. We met with the school director in her office, which is just inside the main entrance and has a large window from which she can see the front door. During the one hour that we met with her ten or fifteen people came up to the entrance and rang the bell. Each time she glanced at the door and quickly buzzed them in. Although we didn't notice it yet, all of these people were white. Then a young African-American woman, maybe 25, rang the bell and the director stood up, apologized to us for interrupting the meeting, went to the front door and opened it just a crack, and said "Can I help you?" I was stunned. I turned to my wife and asked, "was that some racism?" My wife agreed. I would be inclined to give the director the benefit of the doubt--perhaps she knew all of the people she had buzzed in and simply didn't recognize the young black woman--but my wife and I had arrived separately and were each buzzed in immediately, and she had never met either of us. The character of an organization comes from the top, and this type of subtle racism and discrimination is not something we want our child exposed to.

But the best thing I can say is that the environment is warm, loving and safe. I left my children every day knowing they would have a wonderful time and be taught by teachers who were exceedingly caring. I couldn't ask for more. I have to address the negative review accusing the director of racism. The staff there is very diligent about not letting strangers in the building -- which I applaud as a parent! They absolutely stop people that they don't recognize, regardless of race (including my mother and mother-in-law when they came for pick up.) It's an extremely diverse staff and more diverse school than many in the neighborhood.

Now under quarantine, he misses his school and Ms. Robins so much. The school has embraced technology in order to continue offering a home Montessori education to our children in this time of quarantine. In addition to virtual group classes, individual one-on-one time for kindergartners and daily group story times for all the children, Ms. Robins' virtual presence is a constant reminder that she is more than an amazing educator -- she is a constant light providing normalcy for our children during this unprecedented time.

My friend refered me to this school and I can not speak highly enough of it. Within the first week they noticed my sons gifts, and strengths and encouraged me to develop them. They also warned me when his behavior changed and he was acting up. They teach children on a full level ahead so as a 3 year old they were teaching them on a 4 year old level. They wanted the children to be PREPARED to graduate from their school. Their programs were truly excellent and christian based not indoctrination but introduction and structure, including wearing uniforms. They taught the children so much about black history I was astonished and proud to have these principals introduced to him in such a loving way. This is an excellent school and I strongly recommend it to anyone.

But seriously - it was and I believe still run by Reverend Davis and his wife... I am a West Indian child (Trinidadian)..and was raised very strictly by my mum....and it was strongly enforced here.... I was writing cursive at the age of 4 ( I believe Ms. Walcott taught me)... and was very advanced due to my schooling here... and also from the extra work I was given at home....The Christian Learning Center scheduled me for advanced tests at the local elementary school - PS 235 - and I went straight into their "Soar Program" for the first/second/third grades.. (no kindergarten for me).... from there on...I entered the "Eagle" program at my other elementary school.... "Magnet" program for Junior High. and onto Advanced Placement classes in High School and of course continued on with college. I truly do owe my education to the start I was given at the Christian Learning Center... and I am still in contact with many of my classmates from here as we all stayed in Brooklyn - all very fine individuals that they have grown up to be. This school was so good - that my older brother sent my 2 nieces there (they are now aged -15/16) - both in accelerated programs in their respective schools. I do firmly believe that where you start has a strong effect on your life.... I have very fond memories of the Christian Learning Center...and I'm thrilled that they are still in business. And might I add - this is not simply a daycare - it is a SCHOOL. I had homework....and I remember working on multiple projects throughout the day....not just play. I do hope they are still the way I remember them to be. I even remember our cook - Mr Timothy.... he made the best cream of wheat in the mornings....lol..... and our lunches were home cooked food! No chicken nugget/french fries crap..... PS - Don't tell Reverend Davis that I got my first kiss on a cheek from a boy in his office.....lol... (and I'm still friends with that boy too! hmmph! hahaha) I would not hesitate to recommend them to any parent.
