Hopefully after reading my review you can make an informed decision to sign up or not. In the end we moved on to a new studio (cheaper price and better communication). But Georgia's still might the right choice for you. One of my biggest fears with any dance studio is when they force girls to dress and dance provocatively like they were in a hip hop music video. I'd say Georgia's is more on the conservative side which was a big plus. If you're new here it can be tough getting pertinent dance studio information. Sue (owner) has no concept of technology and often posts official announcements via poster board on the windows of the studio. Good luck getting info for picture day or info buying the recital video. That's probably one of the main factors for leaving here. The classes are fine and so was the instruction. Tho keep in mind instructors struggle with receiving information from the owner too. The big recital in June. After a year of classes you'll be expecting a proper recital and Georgia's doesn't disappoint. They rent out the Center Stage theater ( California Center of the Arts) for three nights of recitals. A total of 40 different classes put on a performance before a packed house each night. If you're into a big production, Georgia's is the place to go. Notes: - Cash only!?! This is not a liquor store! - Instructors can be let go on a whim.. - No parents allowed. They have a waiting room up front, or chairs in the back alley area but no cameras of the classes like other studios. - While there are some very competitive dancers (and parents) that's not the norm. - The receptionist/ cash collector is just there to collect payment. No vested interest in being enthusiastic about the studio or the customers. - There are additional fees for the recital and a whopping $26 per ticket to watch each night. I'm not suggesting Sue (owner) is making a profit and I suspect she's losing money on the recital. I'm pointing out additional fees you may or may not be made aware of. This also goes back to the lack of communication. So is Georgia's worth it? Look, there's a great recital and most people like this studio. Just know it's far from perfect and the owner refuses to modernize.. So yeah, give it a try for a year..

Considerable difficulty getting in touch with anyone through both email and phone (MANY unreturned…read moremessages). Staff seems stretched too thin and instructors don't seem to always know what's going on have been quick to anger (scold entire classes, shame individuals in front of the class, or send mixed messages) which has been discouraging and stressful to many of the girls even if they aren't the one directly in the firing line. While class prices are reasonable, recital and costume fees are astronomical compared to other studios (especially considering some outfits are sourced through SHEIN are very low cost) and you are still required to purchase specific earrings and makeup- so plan on $300+ per recital... you will also be required to shell out more for tickets to actually see your child perform which could be multiple times over 2-3 days. Also be aware that some of the classes for older girls have had routines and costumes that are not always quite appropriate for someone under 18 and are borderline objectionable- not only uncomfortable for the dancer but also many times for the audience. If you're looking for anything above a basic class for a young beginner, I'd suggest checking out other studios that might be a better fit.

The teacher welcomed her and she loves her weekly class! Plus Cadence prices are so reasonable and you are able to watch the class (the other studio had blinds lowered all of class so parents couldn't watch). Thank you Cadence for bringing my daughter so much joy. Couldn't be more grateful for your welcoming environment for beginners!

My daughter has been dancing and performing on stage a total of 7yrs and at EDC for 3+yrs...she…read morestarted on the recreational dance team, and now dances on the competitive company team. EDC is a great environment for those who are passionate about dance at any age! Its not about being the most technical, having the perfect look, or the most money - it IS about love of dance, being able to take instruction, show respect, and want to work and grow! EDC has found such a great mix of being a warm/welcoming studio for all levels AND providing top notch instruction and opportunities for the most ambitious/experienced ones! We have been with 4 total studios in North County and all have been wonderful (except for one - which I will not name, but we stayed less than 1 year, as we did not feel welcomed at all - after almost a full year of attending classes every week twice a week, the same check in lady had no clue who my daughter was). If I could give myself advice when starting this dance journey...find and stick with the studio that supports the vision/future you and your dancer are working towards...my daughter and I are pretty grounded when it comes to our expectations from all of this, but everyone is in it for different reasons and because of that one of the challenges as a parent is managing feelings of inequality/jealousy, or being left out/left behind - its helped me grow as a mom! It starts at home - work can be done on teaching your child to be an attentive student, set attainable goals, but dream big, and to compare themselves not to one another but to their last performance. Lastly, the EDC staff is involved in the industry professionally and is well connected for unique opportunities! They are bringing in top notch master instructors and choreographers, they attend a great mix of competitions and conventions - building confidence while keeping them humble!
