We stopped at the meat truck to buy the 20 ribeye's for $39 bucks as advertised, as simple as that. Instead, the guy tries to upsell all of these different meat packages for $100's of dollars. He's tries to push the biggest one the most for about $450. Then when he's sees you're not taking the bait on any of these different packages he starts dropping the prices. It's a fast paced hard sell for about 10-15 mins ‍ Nothing we were interested in. We kept shaking our heads no at every one of them and saying no. He doesn't give up until you say NO about 10 times. Almost like dealing with a telemarketer over the phone except you're in person. Let us buy the ribeye's the first day you're here and try them. If they're good we'll be back before the last day you're here and maybe buy something else. Unfortunately after trying them even with tenderizing they were still tough to us. We'll just grind them up and use them for burgers. Finally, my wife and I both said, we're here for just the 20 ribeye's for $39 bucks. He then surrendered and sold us what we asked for to begin with‍ What a frustrating waste of time. Had we known it was that involved just to buy what we came for we would have never stopped. Guessing that Blaine's doesn't know or didn't do much vetting. I'm giving Blaine's the benefit of the doubt here.

I noticed my tractor had none of the excellent improvments that the 2018 models had. I called the John Deere home office and was instructed I had been mislead into buying a one year old tractor. They sold me a 2017 without my knowledge to be more price competitive with their competitors. With the John Deere home office help and the dealer owner Todd Holland they were forced to make good on the deal and take back the derelict machine and replace it with a current 2018 model year 1025r compact tractor. I was going to give them another chance and buy another new tractor which was a 2038r larger sized machine. They quoted me another price off their computer software and said it was well discounted which nothing was farther from the truth. Their price was pure list price. I went to Sloan Implement in Lanark and purchased the same new machine for approxamately $5,000.00 less. Based on my experience with Holland and Son's John Deere and their crafty salesman Bill Saunders. I would recommend staying far away from any Holland and Son location like the plague. They leave nothing to the imagination when it comes to burning their customers. I am also reporting them to the Illinois Attorney General's office so hopefully they will no longer practice their art of deception on any more unsuspecting consumers.

INRE to WIlliam's response to my Google review under my username, where he Doxxed my real name…read morestating he wants to keep the "conversation legit": Hello William G Stanley. As long as we're keeping things "legit," your name is not Witt, and you have not earned the stellar reputation that Witt's Small Engine Service earned over years of business in the Clinton area. You purchased the business and it's name. My family and I were repeat customers of Witt's for decades and had always been treated fairly, until my last experience under your ownership. I bought a new Husqvarna TS 348XD from Mr. Stanley, at Witt's, for over $4,000 and ordered a plow that was not in stock. The following fall, the LED headlights were failing, so I called to make an appointment to take it to him under warranty. He told me that the lights couldn't just fail & suggested that I must have tried to jump start the mower with my vehicle for them to burn out. I wasn't happy about the accusation, but made an appointment to drop off the mower for this "free service." The mower was at my mother's house the day of the appointment & I decided to remove the mower deck before taking it to him, so that the plow could be mounted for winter after picking it up from him. The deck came off easily, but there is an A arm at the front of the deck that works as a 3 link to help locate it under the mower which is attached to the bracket Mr. Stanley referred to with a nut, and required a deep well socket to remove. I did not have a deep well socket at my mother's house, so I loaded the tractor & took it to Witt's for the warranty appointment, where I explained the situation to Mr. Stanley, and asked him if he could "zip" the nut off with a deep well socket and a mini impact gun. He assurred me that would not be a problem. When warranty work was complete, I returned to the shop & found the main door locked, although, the open sign was lit. Mr. Stanley's wife appeared & had me enter through the shop door which was unlocked & we walked to the showroom together to the counter where she began to prepare paper work for the (free) warranty service. She then presented me with an additional bill for nearly $30 for removing the bracket on the mower. I protested the charge, which I considered excessive, since I had only asked to have the nut removed, which would have taken seconds to do. The bill included 15 minutes labor, sales tax on the labor, and $7 for shop materials. I understand the claim in your response that it took closer to 30 minutes, because it took me that long to put it back on - which is why I only asked for the single nut on the A arm to be removed. William then came to the desk & I again explained my dissatisfaction for what I considered his mistake & subsequent excessive charge. I asked what would happen if I refused payment & he told me he would not return my mower. He then angrily accused me of taking food off of his family's table & I said the same could be said of him. Losing my temper, I began to cuss him up one side & down the other while paying the bill. I told him to give me my mower & continued to cuss him as he walked into the shop where his wife & I had entered proceding toward the room where my mower was stored. William then turned toward me and bull rushed me with his fist in the air telling me to get the F- out of his shop. I told him I didn't trust him to not damage my mower, but walked out the door I had entered through and he opened the overhead door to drive my mower out. For William Stanley's sake of keeping "the conversation legit" I have expanded my brief review & given the full details of my experience with him and Witt's Small Engine Service. Decide for yourself if you want to do business with him. He is not a Witt and has not earned the reputation of his predacessors. As to why I waited 3 years to write this review, the welds holding the center section of the front wheel on my 3 year old TS 348XD failed yesterday, and the wheel fell apart, which brought my negative experience to mind. I suppose Mr. Stanley will now accuse me of causing that failure.
