My idiot apartment manager had my vehicle towed from my assigned space in front of my apartment,…read moreless than 2 full hours after putting one of those impossible to remove neon warning stickers on the window. Her reasoning was that the registration was expired, when in fact, it was not, I just forgot to put this year's tabs on the plate. I was gone for several days, and when I got home, my truck was gone. My neighbors across the hall said they'd seen the property manager going around slapping tow stickers on any car that had expired tabs, missing front plates, or had obviously not been driven in a while (leaves/debris buildup underneath, dusty windshield, one or more flat tires, etc) around 10am. The tow trucks started rolling in about an hour later. Usually those stickers have a 48 hour window to get within compliance before they actually haul your car off, unless you're actively blocking a fire lane, or are parked in a space where you are not authorized to do so. Neither of those situations apply in this situation. It was MY CAR, in MY DESIGNATED SPACE. One that tacks an extra $150 onto my rent every month. Infuriating. By the time I returned home and saw my car was gone, I'd been charged $600+ for storage and impound fees. Here's the kicker: IT ISNT EVEN WORTH THAT MUCH! It is a mid 80's beater Datsun pickup. But, it is my primary means of conveyance, and I'd be hard pressed to find a running, drivable vehicle for the same price as it would cost to get my truck back, especially these days.... Long story short, after I spoke to the owner, they cut me a huge discount, and even towed it back to my apartment for me at no charge, because after dealing with the situation, I was running late for work and needed to scoot before my absence at work was noticed. Not the best way to spend a Monday morning, or the best way to spend half of my paycheck, but overall, these guys are just doing the job they've been contracted to perform.... My apartment manager is the one who deserves a bad review lol.

I encourage everybody to check their rates and file for a hearing at Federal Way Municipal court. We were over charged $250.00 for our impounded vehicle.

I PUT FIVE STARS AS A JOKE, THEY ONLY NEED TWO FOR NOW lol I'm dead…read more One stop is like any business trying to make it work. Nonetheless borderline predatory in the way they take vehicle. if you guys really want them to do better then call your Governor or Attorney General. Let them know that drivers and tow associates need to be educated in these tow, motor vehicle laws with certification. The drivers and dispatch need to possess critical thinking skills so that a right decision can be made if the vehicle needs to be taken. My meds for my diabetes was in the car when they towed it. I was a little upset and told the woman of possible legal action and she hung up before I could mention my condition ( my levels were very low and I was going to feint at they're site in Federal way, WA) I'm on a budget and those shots were to last me till the week after. I just messed up and left them in the car. So to save my own life I paid 479.00 out of my rent funds. It was a bad day to say the least. I'll revisit this page once I open a petition, and file a claim with attorney generals office. PEOPLE ! be respectful to the drivers and folks in dispatch they are doin their job. If you feel you have been wronged or they just took a big dump like they did on me an hour before I had to get to work, with my remaining med kit for my diabetes (which my levels were dangerously low, and or almost fatal) in the car they towed from a well known stationed spot with good tags, and in working condition then call the WAs Attorney General and notify the governer!!

Sharing my experience in hopes it helps someone else advocate for themselves…read more My Enterprise rental was impounded and I contacted 1 Stop Towing within about 12 hours. I had my ID, rental agreement, and the money to pay the approximately $680 I was quoted. I was told that because the vehicle was a rental/not registered in my name, I could ONLY pay the nearly $700 in cash. I was uncomfortable handing over that much cash when I had a major bank card available and wanted a clear payment record. Instead, I immediately contacted Enterprise Roadside Assistance so Enterprise could recover its vehicle and there would be a documented paper trail. The following day, I called because my personal belongings were still inside. Despite having my ID and rental documentation--and having been allowed to retrieve belongings the previous day--the day-shift employee refused me access, became extremely dismissive, and ultimately hung up on me. I have reported these circumstances to the Washington Department of Licensing because I believe the cash-only requirement I was given may violate Washington towing law. RCW 46.55.120 specifically addresses "commercially reasonable tender," including major bank credit cards. DOL can determine whether the practice was lawful. One employee was genuinely helpful, and I am intentionally not identifying them because I appreciated their kindness. If you find yourself in a similar situation: document EVERYTHING. Save call logs, names, times, quotes, receipts, your rental/ownership documents, and exactly which payment methods you offered. Ask for an itemized invoice and don't be afraid to contact the agencies that regulate towing companies. Washington DOL complaints: 360-664-6484 Tow-company compliance: 360-664-6466 WA Attorney General Consumer Protection: 800-551-4636 Being towed is stressful and can make you feel like you have no leverage. You still have consumer rights, and you can document what happened and ask the appropriate state agencies to review it.
