I have several concerns about my experience at this school. I do not feel that the environment is always respectful, supportive, or focused on helping students succeed.
One issue that bothers me is that some staff members, including Ms. Rosa, sometimes speak negatively about students. I believe school staff should set a positive example and maintain professionalism when interacting with students and coworkers.
I also feel that some teachers make assumptions about students based on their appearance rather than getting to know them as individuals. This can make students feel judged, misunderstood, and treated unfairly.
Another concern is that there seems to be unequal treatment among students, which has led many students, including myself, to feel that discrimination and bias are present within the school. Every student deserves to be treated with respect regardless of their background, race, or appearance.
I am also uncomfortable with how student devices are sometimes searched. I believe students should have a clear understanding of the school's policies regarding privacy and when devices may be inspected.
In addition, students are often not allowed to talk during lunch. Lunch should be a time for students to relax, socialize appropriately, and take a break from academic stress.
The overall atmosphere at the school can sometimes feel negative. I frequently hear students using inappropriate language, and there have also been occasions where staff members have used unprofessional language. This creates an environment that does not always feel respectful or appropriate for learning.
There are also frequent fights between students. Many students feel that these situations are not always handled effectively, which can make the school feel unsafe and stressful. Students should be able to come to school without worrying about conflicts or violence.
One concern I have heard from students is that those who lose a fight are sometimes mocked or embarrassed afterward instead of being supported and encouraged to make better choices. Schools should help students learn from mistakes rather than making them feel worse about themselves.
Academically, I feel that the school does not always provide enough instruction before expecting students to complete assignments. Instead of simply being told what to do, students should be taught the necessary skills and given clear guidance so they can succeed.
Overall, I believe the school could improve by creating a more respectful environment, treating students fairly, communicating policies clearly, addressing conflicts appropriately, and focusing more on teaching and supporting students rather than only enforcing rules. read more
