On July 18, we went to Paxton and selected Copper Mist for our basement bar. We were given a sample to take home and received a quote totaling $984.13 using the remnant we had selected. At no point during that process were we told that we needed to place a deposit to secure the material or that the piece could be sold to someone else while we were moving forward with our project. Based on that selection, we continued planning our bar and even purchased our sink specifically to coordinate with the Copper Mist. Unfortunately, there were errors and confusion with our project information from the beginning. We returned to Paxton on August 8 and again confirmed what we had selected. We then learned that the material we had been planning our entire project around had been sold. The proposed solution was essentially for us to spend approximately $3,000 to get the material we originally expected to purchase as a remnant for a project quoted at $984.13. I understand that remnants are limited inventory. What I don't understand is why we weren't clearly told what we needed to do to secure the material, particularly when we had received a quote, taken home the sample, continued communicating with Paxton and were making other purchases based on that selection. Mistakes happen. What has made this experience so frustrating is the accumulation of mistakes, the lack of clear communication and, most importantly, the lack of ownership or a meaningful attempt to make the situation right. Three weeks later, we're now essentially starting the countertop selection process over again through no fault of our own. For a purchase like this, customers rely on the professionals they're working with to explain the process and tell them what needs to happen next. That simply did not happen in our experience.

Getting ready to replace a $1200 custom made Corian sink that has looked like crap from…read moreinstallation. First of all they held up my kitchen remodel with their lateness, then they threatened to not produce sink when I pressed them. Seams started appearing in the sink right away. Never called because didn't want to deal with their rudeness and defensiveness after that. Cracks around the drain started to appear next and now they are going across the whole sink. Only a matter of time before this sink totally disintegrates. Found out later from my cabinet maker that they had used them before and would not again. My countertops came from somebody up by Vassar. Thank goodness. Just pick somebody else.

Despite it being the busy season for roofers, Precision Roofing jumped into action. My home is a historic structure, so we ran into a roadblock when the historic committee in the area blocked the building permit. Precision immediately wrote a letter to my insurance company and Jeff from Precision came with me to the committee meeting and presented our case. We were approved. Precision then jumped into action immediately and put on my roof. It looks great and no leaks! Precision was caring, professional, and diligent. They really went above and beyond in every way. A specific shout out to Jeffrey, Cory, and Devlin who were so absolutely wonderful through it all.

They continued this poor display of customer service by hanging up immediately when I tried to reach back out, believing that this must have been a mistake, with how abrupt and unprompted her actions were. Incredibly rude, not even worth wasting your time calling.

Abby came out and fixed the issue with their crack injection process. Abbey was professional, courteous, and respectful of my property. I would highly recommend Stay Dry and Abby if you have cracks in your foundation. Stay Dry also installed a new sump pump and complete backup system. I was very happy with all of their employees and the services they provided.

Another company came to sell all new gutters, when a fix was needed. He explained what he thought was the best course, showed evidence, then was fast about providing a quote and getting the job done. I agree with other comments that if you don't have a huge project needing done McDaniel's does not…read morewant to be bothered. In October 2025, we chose to remodel our bathroom. We chose McDaniel's because we prefer to support local when possible, and we felt we would receive more personal and professional care from them than from a big box store. Nicole R. (our designer, who was more of a salesperson than a designer) was a total disappointment. Her communication skills were almost non-existent. We were often waiting days to weeks (even with reminders) for her to return a call or an email. When she chose to communicate, she was abrupt, condescending, scattered in her thoughts, and made promises to appease us, but later nothing came of her promises. It is now April and the project is still not completed. We had to pay $100 before McDaniel's would measure the area. Nicole did not accurately measure the height of the vanity and the length and height of the side-splash resulting in me either not using the side-splash or paying to have the new drywall cut into in order to move the electrical up. On February 5th I sent Nicole a picture of the error and she said she "would be out ASAP." Later that day she emailed that she would be out March 9th. Upon sharing my concerns about the length of the side splash Nicole explained that it was customary to measure the side splash longer than needed and the construction people would cut or grind it to the correct size. I cannot imagine all contractors have the tools to do this. As far as the electrical outlet placement and the height of the side splash is concerned Nicole agreed it was not acceptable and offered cutting it to 1" in height. I told her that was not acceptable and that I wanted the electrical moved up. She agreed if it was her house that is what she would want done and said she would immediately get with their construction person. Not ours, theirs, since it was her mistake. I waited another three weeks and two days to be contacted by him, all the while reminding Nicole every week that we needed closure. On March 24th Eric from Granite Construction called. He said he would have someone out that afternoon and was going to email me a work order for my signature. I waited approximately 30 minutes but rather than the work order I received the name of an electrician and told that I would have to pay for the repair. In total frustration I contacted the owner/manager of McDaniels, Don Jessup. He said he agreed with some of my points (many are not mentioned here) but since we used our own contractors, McDaniel's is not accountable. (Their contractors wanted $16,332 for a small, typical bathroom.). He offered to refund the side splash and six vanity handles (that I paid $90 for but never ordered), but since then he has chosen not to answer my emails about how I need to go about the return, paperwork, etc. At this point I feel I have given McDaniel's every opportunity to make things right before posting this review. I am hoping to save others the unprofessionalism and lack of respect I received. As of April 6th (today) I have not received any communication from Nicole regarding whether the electrical problem has been resolved, asking me if I was pleased with how the bathroom turned out, or thanking me for my business. Nothing from Don Jessup either.
