I rarely leave negative reviews, but after three weeks of mistakes, poor communication and a complete lack of ownership, I feel other customers should know about our experience with Paxton Countertops. On July 18, we went to Paxton and selected Copper Mist for our basement bar. We were given a sample to take home and received a quote totaling $984.13 using the remnant we had selected. At no point during that process were we told that we needed to place a deposit to secure the material or that the piece could be sold to someone else while we were moving forward with our project. Based on that selection, we continued planning our bar and even purchased our sink specifically to coordinate with the Copper Mist. Unfortunately, there were errors and confusion with our project information from the beginning. We returned to Paxton on August 8 and again confirmed what we had selected. We then learned that the material we had been planning our entire project around had been sold. The proposed solution was essentially for us to spend approximately $3,000 to get the material we originally expected to purchase as a remnant for a project quoted at $984.13. I understand that remnants are limited inventory. What I don't understand is why we weren't clearly told what we needed to do to secure the material, particularly when we had received a quote, taken home the sample, continued communicating with Paxton and were making other purchases based on that selection. Mistakes happen. What has made this experience so frustrating is the accumulation of mistakes, the lack of clear communication and, most importantly, the lack of ownership or a meaningful attempt to make the situation right. Three weeks later, we're now essentially starting the countertop selection process over again through no fault of our own. For a purchase like this, customers rely on the professionals they're working with to explain the process and tell them what needs to happen next. Getting ready to replace a $1200 custom made Corian sink that has looked like crap from installation. First of all they held up my kitchen remodel with their lateness, then they threatened to not produce sink when I pressed them. Seams started appearing in the sink right away. Never called because didn't want to deal with their rudeness and defensiveness after that. Cracks around the drain started to appear next and now they are going across the whole sink. Only a matter of time before this sink totally disintegrates. Found out later from my cabinet maker that they had used them before and would not again. My countertops came from somebody up by Vassar. Thank goodness. Just pick somebody else. read more

Had a great experience with Jacklyn before we went to their showroom, was very responsive to my email questions and scheduled a visit. We had a quote from one of the big box stores and found something equivalent for a little less but the experience was much better. We could actually pick out the slab of granite to order and when it was delivered to their fabrication facility, we could pick out which part of the slab we wanted for the countertops and which part for our island. Every single step in purchasing new counters for our kitchen was wonderful and stress free. In the show room I was shown multiple options within my budget. I toyed with the option of purchasing my sink and faucet elsewhere but after some quick research and finding Paxton's price comparable, it was too easy just to fully work with them. After selection and payment, measurements were scheduled and taken about 2 weeks later and the following week they were installed. They arrived on time and the quality and detail of their work was exceptional! Which is exactly what you want with your new counter tops! We had an excellent experience with Paxton! We worked with Sarah who was incredibly insightful and patient with us while helping us to choose new countertops. After choosing an initial three samples to mull over at home, we still couldn't decide. Sarah brought probably a dozen more samples to our home so we could see the products in our space. The templating and install went exactly as expected. The crew for both these dates were on time, efficient, and did excellent work. We cannot recommend Paxton enough. read more

Do NOT use this company. The owner, Rachel, has been nothing but rude and condescending. They go over plans verbally and then write them down differently. You literally have to do their job for them or it will cost you way more in the end. We tried to support a local company and regret our decision to go with Paxton. Last but certainly not least, the owner texted my husband, yes you read that right, texted my husband telling him she was going to turn my bad review of their company over to their attorney. So if you are looking to spend a lot of extra money after the fact and want to deal with a legal battle, this company is for you. read more
