    Dry Basements Plus

Let's start up by saying this has been a total nightmare where from the beginning Craig came out to…read moremy house. Said he was the owner and tried to dry base my place and caused so much damage to my basement that we are going to get a lawyer involved now I've had numerous basement companies out and they said his system has failed. He wants to try to send a letter saying oh it's coming through cracks in the basement when it's clearly coming from his dry track system that failed in about 15 different spots. This is very ridiculous. I would steer clear this company. Do not waste your money. Do not waste your time. Stay far far away from this company check out all their other names they have numerous different names under their self then they want to say it's coming through the cracks in the floor when you can clearly see where their track system failed a numerous spots. It's a bunch of horseshit they don't answer phone calls. They'll leave you hanging dry and they'll cost you thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in repairs.

My wife and I are left jealous of the other reviews about this company. Their commercials will…read moreadvertise as they are one company: this is simply false. The waterproofing and finishing sides are completely separate from one another and do not communicate. We found this out the hard way after booking them for our projects. We received the opposite treatment, temperament, and professionalism from the same people referenced on other reviews (Dan the Project Coordinator mainly). The lack of communication between ourselves and the company/workers as well as between the waterproofing and finishing sides was lacklaster and, most times, non-existent. While Basements plus will acknowledge and apologize for the "experiences" we had, the "experience" will never be something they take financial ownership for... and we have proof of that. Most of our issues lie with the process involved, the lack of accountability from the people involved, and the company's lack of accountability for the burdens my wife and I ended up with to keep things moving. Our bi-level house flooded multiple times in our downstairs. Prior to Basements Plus waterproofing, a plumber put in an emergency storm drain that fed into our sum pump. This was relayed to Basements Plus and was clearly attached to the sum pump that was being replaced. After waterproofing was "completed", the emergency storm drain was never tied back into the new sum pump and our downstairs flooded again. They had to come back out and fix their error with the sum pump. No all, but our main issues (we have so much more, please ask us): -You will get an App that is meant to provide you a daily schedule so you know what work is being supposed to be done when and who will be at the house. This schedule will NOT be updated automatically and will be useless quickly. The ONLY way we got this updated was repeatedly asking. -Due to the bi-level home, we asked for a door to be put at the bottom of the stairs. It took SIX WEEKS for the project coordinator to put one in. HIS original suggestion was for a zipper door. When asked the next week about a zipper door, Dan was confused on what that was. We ended up with a magnet door that was installed in the wrong place, had to be moved by me, and did not function as well as hoped. -When going through the process of picking out cabinets, countertops, and accessories in the showroom, we were not presented prices for the options. -We had multiple occasions where the waterproofing and finishing would overlap. Neither side knew what the other was doing and would interfere with themselves. In one instance, we were called that materials would be dropped off the next day; the truck backed into our driveway with materials 1 minute later. -We had power knocked out to multiple rooms upstairs one day. Workers took 0 accountability until forced to. -Beware! This company does NOT prime and paint before laying flooring down. This was confirmed by multiple workers. Due to this, our flooring had white trim paint soak through the tape that was on it for 2 months. Almost every 4 inches of the floor against a wall is dulled in color now. -This company also does not grout tile in the bathroom. That is on you if you want it. -We asked for a new project Coordinator and, instead, just got a middle-man between us and the Coordinator. -Company threw away brackets for blinds, ceiling fans, and barn doors and all had to be replaced. -When Project Coordinator went out of town, we had no work done at our house. Company confirmed this is not how it is supposed to be, but that's exactly how it worked for us. At the end, we told Basements Plus we were done and we would take care of the rest ourselves. We coordinated FAR too much of this ourselves and were exhausted with the lack of communication and accountability. We asked for compensation back for all of the errors and work that became ours. Their "good faith" offer was 2% of our total paid (which didn't include plumbing costs) and would have to sign an NDA. We would never accept that offer and have so much more to say!

After four unproductive days having heating/cooling, plumbing, and restoration specialists try to…read morefigure out why our entire basement carpet was soaked, Vince from Rangel's came out and immediately diagnosed the problem. It was actually a heating/cooling problem with the humidifier, and in addition to disconnecting temporarily, Vince helped me find a specialist who could provide a permanent fix. There was no charge for the assessment, but if this had been a foundation problem there is no doubt I would have had Rangel do the work!

I would like to begin by saying I would recommend this company for any project they are able to…read morecomplete. Rangel's Waterproofing and Construction installed a basement tile system and a new basement egress window the week of October 9, 2017. Ozzie Rangel and his twin sons, Vincent and Gabriel, own and operate the business. Vincent is the manager, writing the estimates and contracts. Vincent and his dad Ozzie came to write my estimate. Both men were very respectful of me and honored all my questions. Ozzie promised he or one of his sons would lead my crew. Not only did Gave lead my crew, Ozzie worked at my house at least two days. When the project was completed all things promised on the contract were completed as promised. Even though it took three trips to Menard's on Friday afternoon to get all supplies needed no corners were cut. Friday completion was the goal and the crew worked until 9 PM to reach the goal. In spite of the lateness and being dark the basement and yard were cleaned beyond my expectation before they left. Yes, the project was completed on time in spite of many glitches, but the best part of working with Rangel's was the courteousness and professionalism they displayed toward each other and me. By the time the project was compete we felt like friends. There were never any harsh words spoken to anyone. Gabe was even very polite and patient in teaching a new crew member. I would hire Rangel's Waterproofing & Construction again.
