I Met Jim, the owner of Absolute Plumbing in Waukegan's Building Department Office, while he was pulling a permit for another job. I asked for his card because I needed a plumber to rod and perform a camera inspection of my sewer line. I called and scheduled an appointment for Jim to come out to do the rodding and inspection. Jim was running late but called to inform me. Once he arrived at my house, he and his helper got to work. Now, Jim didn't have the latest camera equipment, but his equipment was impressively maintained and worked well. He was able to completely rod and inspect my sewer line from the clean-out to the city main. Jim explained all of the faulty parts of my sewer and some minor faults with the plumbing in my basement. I asked Jim for an estimate to redo my sewer. His rate was comparable with that of others, and his mellow personality was welcome, so I accepted his bid. Jim and his crew were diligent, on time, respectful of my property and cleaned up their work areas on a daily basis. Ultimately, the job entailed replacing my home's sewer and main water line. I am pleased with the results and the performance of the Absolute Plumbing crew. I am certain that I'll reach out to Absolute Plumbing and offer them as a referral to others in the Lake County area. Waukegan suffers from a multitude of unlicensed plumbers and contractors. Jim abides by the law and publicly displays his plumbing license number and shows his Illinois Department of Public Health plumber's card. Broken water pipe in the basement..we just moved about a year and half in Zion, so we didn't know anybody. We call a few companies and they all told us they couldn't come for the next 2 days and if we wanted someone asap was gonna be a huge fee just to come over, we found Absolute Plumbing so we call. I talked over the phone with the owner Jim and explained what happen and he told me he will have someone over 1st thing in the morning which himself came in and took care of my issue before it got worse. If I could give more stars to this company no doubt I would, the owner Jim cares for his company so he does a super job and it made us feel so comfortable. They came in fix my pipe, clean, got rid of all my wet drywall, insulation and everything you can think for an amazing price. If I ever need anything get fix or done at home or if a friend ask for someone no doubt this company will be the only one I will use and reccomend. This is the second time we have needed a plumber in a hurry and these guys came through again. We were trying to replace a bathroom sink faucet and due to years of hard water we could not loosen the connections from the old faucet to remove it. I called about 12:10 and the very nice lady said she will send someone out now. About twenty minutes Edwin, the same guy we have before for our kitchen faucet was here. He was masked and had booties. We explained the problem and also asked how much for him to put in the new one with new water lines. Reasonable price, so gave him the go ahead. He had to cut the old faucet out and then went on to replace it with the new one and put in new water lines. He even put extra silicone in spots where he knew this model of faucet might leak in the future. Overall took about an hour. We are very pleased with his work and pleasant nature and cost. We had a sewer backup in our basement. We called Absolute Plumbing. They responded by getting us a plumber in the middle of the day. We were surprised at the quick response as we were both at work. The plumber waited 35 minutes for us to arrive. Upon our arrival we discovered we had the wrong keys. We went to get the keys thus taking another 15 minutes while the plumber, Edwin, waited. Edwin then went to work analyzing the problem and sharing his findings with us. We were able to agree on a price and Edwin proceeded to correct our sewer backup problem. He was courteous, polite, professional. Within an hour the problem was corrected along with giving us some pertinent advice to avoid the situation in the future. We were impressed with the service, and especially with the plumber, Edwin. He helped us solve the problem and I believe this is the epitome of the company he represents. A pleasure to do business with, I came home last night from out of town to a no water situation out of any facet, needless to say the wife was less than happy and only concerned about showers the next morning, well at 7:00 pm I called Absolute told them my situation and 5 minutes after hanging up Jim called me. After a discussion with Jim about 15 minutes on the phone, Jim realized they couldn't help me but he referred me to a well company that he knew of and after a phone call to the well company my problem was resolved over the phone all before 8:00pm that night. Needless to say without the referral to the well company I would have been sunk and stinking to say the least. The other guys I called Rotor Rooter immediately said there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. I was having continual sewer plugging problems over a few years and Absolute was there every time I called. Ed was getting to be a regular fixture in my basement. I finally decided that the time had come to excavate and fix the problem properly. I did shop around and talked to another contractor and ended right back with Absolute. I had a major blockage in my sewer line on a Saturday morning recently and called three different plumbers and got messenger services each time. Obviously I wanted to talk to someone right away. The fourth call was to Absolute Pluming and I got the owner Jim. He assured me he had a guy available and would be with me in a couple of hours. I started having problems with my WATER HEATER , it would leak from the bottom. I called ABSOLUTE PLUMBING they sent out Edwin within 30mins. He checked my WATER HEATER & told me it needed to be replaced & gave me the cost to fix it. The price was reasonable so I had him replace it. My ejector pump for the bathroom in the basement quit working. I called ABSOLUTE PLUMBING and explained my problem. About 45 minutes later Edwin came to my house, checked the ejection pump and told me that I needed a new one. He told me how much it would cost to replace it. He replaced the pump, cleaned up when he was done. Very nice job, paid exactly what he quoted, no surprises. Recently called for plumbing issues with our toilets. Have family staying with us for Thanksgiving this week and our toilets were leaking and not flushing, we needed help fast with a house full of 9+ people that would be staying with us. They came out right away and found out that my overhead sewer pipe was broken outside of the foundation wall.
