I wish I could give this business a negative number. If I could, it would be a -10! The owner, Ted G, seems to be a genuinely nice man. He also seems knowledgable, on the surface. Don't be fooled, he is not that nice and will take advantage of customers, and in my opinion is not that knowledgable. We took our restored classic car there intending for his shop to straighten some minor details on the body, no big deal, just some adjustments and weather stripping. Ted originally said the work would take a few weeks, that his shop was a bit busy (which appeared obvious from the volume of vehicles in the shop and yard). My husband went back to check on the progress in about a month, discovered nothing had been done. He and Ted discussed additional upgrades to the car while it was there: partial paint on the roof and wheels, power steering, and floor shift instead of column. Ted said that should only take "a few weeks". This was a YEAR ago... I retrieved the car today by having it towing it home (no longer in driving condition), ONLY the paint had been done and NOTHING else. We paid him a deposit up front, Ted kept saying he had invoices in his office for the work being done but never produced then when the subject was brought up. He put us off weekly by saying the car was " almost done" and it never was..."I'll have it done next Friday" he said week after week. The car was returned to us with numerous new scratches and dings in the paint. He had the audacity to present us with a bill for the work, when the entire project was not completed, such as charging us to paint the wheels 2-tone and only putting a single color on.
One last thing: Ted would frequently tell us that a particular part was ordered, only to find out when said part arrived that it did not fit the car or was never ordered. This happened more than once. He would then lie outright about having the necessary parts on hand to finish the job. read more
