I ordered the second round of my favorite beer and after tasting it I immediately realized that was not what I ordered. To be sure I asked the people at our table to taste the beer. At that moment, we had some beer left from our previous order so we could taste and compare. After doing that, we all agreed that this beer was not the one I ordered. Anyway, when I communicated my complaint to the waiter, he responded that I was wrong and the beer was the same. Although I tried to explain to him that the taste and the color were different but he insisted that I was wrong.... a few minutes later the waiter accompanied by 2 other waiters approached our table and told me (all together and with a loud/bad tone) that I was wrong and this was what I ordered ... As I didn't want to make a scene and ruins everyone's night I told them that it was fine, but I heard one of the waiter imitating me as he went away... As a person with knowledge of the service industry, I found their reaction and their behavior neither customer friendly nor right.... It felt a bit rude, aggressive and ganged up on which is a huge negative point for the service! Ergo, I rated the service of the bar 1 star. I have to mention that the bar (Food & Beer) on its own can have 3-4 stars.

Its still as good as ever ! So the All Star Bar - a couple of the guys in the Bishops Arms suggested that I try the new place in town saying that the food was good and the guy in charge behind the bar was the brother of a mate of mine. So off I went - the bar is part of a franchised chain in Sweden - this outlet being the ninth or tenth to open. If you know the town and want to look for it - its the old Oliver Twist pub site ( RIP - great bar in its day ) This place must have cost a fortune to fit out - must be 50 or 60 plasma TV's all around the site - they say they can show any sporting event all you need to do is ask! So I did - Crystal Palace vs West Ham - they had it. I prefer to sit at the bar in these sort of places and here is where the last fifth star is lost. TV's everywhere but none above the back counter, therefore if you sit at the bar its the only place in the entire place where you cant see a TV. As they have based the concept on the American sports bar they should really look again and recitfy. Anyhow - drinks were a good choice - probably about 5 or 6 drafts to choose from, usual bottles of Bud and the like too. I went with a pint of Heineken which was OK. Started with Chicken wings - Dan ( mates brother ) told me that the sauce was very spicy so that suited me fine. Also had some Garlic Bread to go with them. The Wings were very good - plenty of meat and cooked very well - the sauce not spicy at all, a little heat but thats it. Spicy food isnt the norm in Sweden, they dont have the Brits passion for Indian food. Dan asked about the spice and I told him - he said to let him know next time I was in town and chef would make a special glace with extra chilli. I am sure they will as the swedes are very much like that when it comes to customer service, at least in my experience. Had a bacon cheeseburger for main and it was great, obviously home made patty, cooked medium as good burgers should be. The swedes love a good burger , every bar does at least one version and like anything they do vary in quality. Took a couple of large brandies whilst the game was finishing up - I dont remember the score, it must have been memorable ! I will be back here in Jan 2014 to try the special chilli glace for the wings for sure. Its not cheap even by Swedish standards but if you are in town give it a try - especially if the match is on !

However I tried it again last week and it was outstanding. They have bought the shop next door and expanded to make probably the largest lounge plus restaurant in town. We had a couple of drinks at the bar to find the bartender was actually an Englishman who had arrived in Sweden via New Zealand. Drinks selection is good but focused on bottle beer, spirits and cocktails nothing much in the way of draft beer. Onto the food, the starters are based on tapas so we started with goat cheese wrapped in bacon and chorizo with garlic bread. All excellent. Mains were equally good I had chicken with pepper sauce and my colleague had the steak. Very good quality and generous portions. We were both pretty full afterwards so rather than desert we had a cocktail each. Price wise it's not cheap even in Sweden. £160 for 2 people but it is exceptional! Give it a go in this town which seems to open a new upmarket restaurant each week.

The burger itself were a good burger: the flavors mixed well, the bread was fresh and the meat cooked well without going dry. If one would complain about anything, the paddies were a bit on the thin side. Fries were ok, though of the thin standard variety. For a 189:- burger I would assume something more. Coleslaw was approved, though it's not my favorite piece on a burger plate so don't take my word for it. All in all, a very decent meal at a nice restaurant, that gets almost an extra full star for atmosphere. With the bar getting constantly raised for burger joints in the larger Stockholm area, I'm missing some oomph, though I am leaving satisfied. I will be coming back. On a general note; when will burger joints trying to position themselves seriously in Sweden start serving sweet potato fries? We need need more sweet potato fries in our lives!
