My sons third week there he came back with a bad injury to his face ( level 3 non verbal) and not one person contacted me about it I just saw it when picking him up..no incident report was done and they never offered to show me any footage of the incident..very suspicious..the first day i dropped him off Mindy walked me around the tiny facility for 10 stop minutes then they expected me to leave my son there for 8 hours he supposedly had 4 BTs but I never formally was introduced to any of them I only met who I dropped him off with in the morning and who I picked them up with in the afternoon ..And These are ppl supposed to be caring for my disabled child 8 hrs 5 days a week and they can't introduce themselves for a parents peace of mind. Not to mention most of the BT's there look 17 to 22 ( They do not drug test employees) so someone can go smoke a blunt put some eye drops in and take care of my disabled child come on now most of them look like they don't even have kids. They're nice, but that doesn't mean they're qualified to take care of your children let alone special needs children that sometimes lash out or get aggressive .I heard a lot of bad things about ABA and I wanted to try it myself. This was just my personal experience so far honestly, I just feel like it was a glorified daycare with glorified babysitters and my son needs more than that I'm looking into OT and speech therapy and possibly a different ABA! Just do your research don't feel pressured into putting your kid into this program full-time ( like me) make sure you ask all the right questions and you meet all the BTs that will be caring for your child. A lot of people tell me you can request in the home sessions to where you can be present, but of course they never offer that to me. Texted them that it was unacceptable and I Never took my son back because I just didn't feel right about it and they didn't reply to me so unprofessional I'm glad I only had my son there for 3 weeks or before he got really badly injured.. follow your mommy instincts! My son was misdiagnosed by this location. He went in for an autism diagnostic but was also diagnosed with IDD (an intellectual disorder). My son has always been one of The fastest learners in his class Per all of his teachers, so I was Really confused when she gave us this diagnosis. When we were in her office for the diagnostic testing, She Offered to also do a IQ test. My first question when she asked if we wanted to do this was, How will this work since he has speech delays? I was told we have ways to make them understand the questions, etc. We were not allowed to be in the room either. After I got the results, I asked her how is this possible if he's known to be one of the fastest learners in his class? He reads he does math really well for his age. He's actually Right on power, if not learning fast faster than some of the other kids, his age Typical or not.. I wasn't really given any answers for that. A few months later, the regional center wanted a second diagnostic testing done with a Separate party that we went to. Right off the bat just after a few moments with him, she told us there's no way he has IDD But just to further test it, she did an IQ test also however, this time she gave him one for kids who are nonverbal. He passed with flying colors.. My reason for writing this is to Not shame anyone but to hopefully Make people think. Even though you are trained It's important to listen to parents concerns since they really do know their children the best. In this case, I would've hoped that Question of how this test will work since he has speech delays I wish that that was taken a little bit more seriously and thought about more strategically. We went through a lot of Emotional roller coasters because of this wrong diagnosis. It made me also feel like I didn't know my son the way I thought I did. I tried to step back and see things from a different angle thinking maybe because I'm his mom. I'm doing too much and I'm not seeing things clearly. This caused a lot of stress in pain in my life and my family's life. It kept nagging at me that I knew it couldn't be the case just from knowing my son and not that there's anything wrong with it if he did have one, but I just knew he didn't. In the end, I am thankful that he was able to really be seen and diagnosed properly elsewhere. read more

If you're looking for a company that genuinely cares about your child -- look elsewhere. ABS Kids has been one of the most disappointing and damaging experiences we've had. It became clear very quickly that their top priority is maximizing billable hours, not supporting children or families in a meaningful, ethical way. They pushed relentlessly to schedule more hours, regardless of how overwhelmed my child was. At one point, they even suggested I pull my child out of school -- not for therapeutic benefit, but simply so they could hit their quotas. The complete disregard for my child's educational and emotional needs was beyond disturbing. I even took the time to sit down with one of their directors, Sarah, to express our deep concerns about the lack of progress and how the services were affecting our child. Instead of listening, she turned a deaf ear and chose to reprimand us -- not for anything harmful we were doing, but simply because we weren't agreeing to the excessive hours they were demanding. There was no willingness to collaborate, no acknowledgment of our child's actual needs -- just pressure and guilt-tripping to meet their numbers. The Behavior Technicians (BTs) were untrained, unprepared, and rotated constantly, leaving no room for consistency or progress. Sessions were often chaotic, unstructured, and clearly uncomfortable for our child. It felt like they were just placing warm bodies in the role with no qualifications or guidance. This is not a company that should be trusted with vulnerable children. They are careless, profit-driven, and tone-deaf to families' concerns. If I could go back, I would never have allowed them through my front door. Please -- protect your child and look elsewhere for real help. read more

This company is literal garbage they'll go months giving you the least hours as possible, ignoring messages about certification, qualifications, they'll cry about if your clothing isn't to their standards & as soon as you find work elsewhere they all of the sudden make excuses that they need you, as for the kids? They'll mostly hire anybody who is Alive and breathing but with whatever intentions, they seem like they're there for the check, I'd advise against these clowns. read more

This is the worst place for ABA Therapy! They do not train or help their therapist! They will make your child cry for over an hour if they don't know how to say or do something! Alma is the worst there! Don't send your child here, they deserve better! I would not even give them one star! read more

If I could give ZERO stars for the upper management I would! The BTs we had were great, however they need more experience/schooling. They say they are not able to help the child with homework or anything to do with school. Such as leaning sight words with flash cards. Which is absurd!! The other company we now have say that they SHOULD be helping the child grow in ALL areas including schooling!! In addition to that they called CPS because we had ants in the house... we live in Southern California when weather changes the ants come in. Every person in our condo complex complains about the ants. read more

This agency is all about the INSURANCE AND THE MONEY & NOT about what is right for the child. Do NOT put your child with this agency! They only care about the bottom dollar, not the client! My nephew, who is autistic, did ABA therapy with them for a few years, then they abruptly cut him off and told him to go find another agency because the family could not afford to schedule additional therapy days. He was already doing therapy 3 days a week, and they wanted to littery FORCE him into 5 days a week, but the family could not afford the co-pay. The in-home therapists are brand new & lack experience dealing with autistic children, and the managers could care less. Do yourself a favor & find a different agency that actually cares about the child and not the MONEY they can bill the insurance company. read more

I worked for ABS KIDS for one year , it was awesome, the entire staff treated me with kindness, respect and love. If I had a question or needed anything, I had a go to person. The scheduling team was awesome. All the TEAMS were amazing. The pay was awesome. I will miss working there Unfortunately I had to leave due to family issues . read more

Run as fast as you can away from this agency! There are so many great behavioral therapy agencies out there & this is NOT one of them! Their center is only for children ages 4 years & younger. Only offering in home solutions for older children. In home therapists are brand new & lack experience dealing with actual human children. BCBA's are newly graduated college students that lack real world experience & supervisors are never involved. Do yourself a favor & find a different agency to work with. This one is all about the insurance money & not about what is right for the child. Intake was way longer than any other agency I have every dealt with. read more

This place does not care about the kids! I had scheduled my sons appointment a month in advanced(I work full time as a single mom and needed to make sure I have work coverage) for his autism evaluation, we'll nobody decided to tell me they cancelled his appointment. when I called they stated it was due to not being able to get ahold of me which is a BS excuse but the problem is I was texting one of the girls there because she wanted me to text her the insurance card and paperwork. I asked them to reschedule and they said they couldn't till 2023! this place is a joke and all it did was delay my sons care. read more

Unfortunately I have to leave a star but if it was an option I would leave zero stars. This place is just a glorified daycare. We spent over a year trying to get our son help here and no one ever reached back out to us, we had to call and find out if any openings had become available. After a year of waiting, we finally were able to get in, and it seems we were rushed to sign up, and no information about payments or what were were paying for were brought up, and they used that sense of urgency to get out son help to take advantage of us. So if you are planning on getting help here ask all these questions up front because once you are in, it's impossible to get a hold of someone to answer your questions. The staff is equally horrible, Shaela Mihid who was assigned to our son started off nice, but once I started raising questions her attitude towards us changed, and when I asked for a corporate number they just ran me around and LaMarie (who is I guess the manager of the center) started to call me and when I stated what the issues was all she could tell me is "Im not in charge of that but I can look" If you can't help then why are you calling me? and as for I can look and find out, that day never comes because all they do is promise you things they cannot come through on. The billing department is just rude, and never seem to care what your concerns are and tell you that's just the way things work. Sarah Bass wrote me an email stating "if I had an issues with their services then I could go somewhere else" actual quote pulled from the email. That is not something you tell a parent of a kid with Autism, the last thing we need is more frustration, and that is all this place does is add frustration to your already difficult situation. I also spoke to a Francisco who is in charge of the region and he seemed not to give two shits about my issue, all he could offer me is apologies and no solutions, another person who said they would get back to me and here I am a month later no call, email or anything regarding the issues I had. I would take Sarah Bass's suggestion and find an alternative service for your child because this place only cares about money and doing the least bit possible to help, ive been harassed more about making payments than anything remotely regarding my child. Beware of this place and if you don't believe me I provided names of people that work there do the research. As I mentioned before I requested corporate information numerous times and no one is still able to give me that information they want to know what is wrong up front instead of just giving you the information to protect themselves. So I scheduled an evaluation for my daughter here for January 4, 2023. They asked for the insurance card, so I sent a photo of the front--because that is the relevant information. The receptionist then asked for the front and back. We sent it promptly. We sent it before Christmas. My daughter's appointment was supposed to be tomorrow, and I emailed to tell them I got no response when I sent the front and back of the insurance card. They said the appointment was cancelled, because they didn't receive the insurance card information on time. Complete and total BS. It's not wonder they had openings when other agencies were backed up for months. That should have given me a red flag! Horrible, horrible place. read more

Abs kids is an okay work environment. Care about phones more than they do the children. Doesn't send children home when they are sick . So teacher gets sick because of the child . Teacher calls off has NO sick pay . Minimum hours , very low pay for the work you do with children . Smile on your face but talks about you behind your back. If u are looking for a career with them DONT . They make you do wayyyyy to much then find any reason to let you go . read more
