Lovely small Italian restaurant that takes good care of all the details. It might be a bit expensive but it's totally worth it. I had the risotto and it was heaven. We ordered cheese cake for dessert and wasn't what I expected but it was good even so, although I won't ask for it next time. Perfect for a romantic night (although most clients where there in groups). read more

made freshneed to start off by saying Rob is a very gracious host. He always makes you feel so welcome just as if you are invited into his home. He has the friendliest and most accommodating staff. The atmosphere is very warm and elegant. You can definitely tell that rob and his staff take pride in what they do. Even down to the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The staff went above and beyond for us. As I was taking my wife for our anniversary. I had dropped off some flowers earlier in the day and on arrival they had them on our table for us.The food is with is a plus 10. My wife had the beef tenderloin and myself the venison .Best pasta in the city .Made fresh in house. Great selection of wines. Not iam not usually a dessert person but couldn't resist knowing I wouldn't be disappointed. In closing this is by far the best Italian food around. read more

We came in right before kitchen close with a large group. Totally impressed by service, speed of fantastic food prep, willingness to keep kitchen open to serve, and great priced good wine. Definitely earns the top spot for London! Have the Tiramisu Espresso Gelato for dessert. read more

Been here twice and loved it each time. Great service great food. I had duck for the first time here and it was great. Second time i had the swordfish, again not disappointed. They also have our 2nd favorite bottle of Chanti. We be going back for sure. read more

My wife had mussels and duck and I had oysters & a steak (Beef tenderloin). Both were great. The service was excellent. If you want a great dinning experience and like to try smaller non-chain restaurants then give this one a try. read more

Delicious meal. Well deserved top rating. Better than the two Italian restaurants I visited in Toronto this trip. Ordered the agnolotti with peas and a lemony butter sauce. Soaked the rest of the sauce up with my bread. Very good. read more

Been to this restaurant many times. Have loved everything I've tried. The grilled octopus is amazing -I had no idea what to expect and was somewhat hesitant ordering it but it exceeded my expectations. My go-to is always the beef tenderloin entree but their pastas are fresh and also a great choice. For dessert the creme brûlée is delicious -they put a certain condensed milk crumble on top which is to die for! The owner personally comes to chat and gets to know his customers and makes sure you're enjoying your meal -this is a special spot! Great food but makes you feel like you're at home. Reservations are a must for weekends. read more

Abruzzi - Beef tenderloin entree! A+++ - Italian Near Me - London, Ontario

Oh god this is delicious. Everything was great. Seasonal crustini was great. Gf's buffalo mozz pizza was delicious. My beef tenderloin might be the best thing I ever put in my mouth. A little pricey, but for a special occasion, this place can't be beat. read more

My family and I have been going here for 8 years now, and it's always a special treat. The owners are very friendly and come to say hi to us sometimes. The food is delicious, especially the pasta, which is made there in the restaurant. The service is good and the people are nice. Couldn't ask for much more! read more

Are the reviewers drunk? 5 stars? Were talking about the same abruzzi right? My partner and i ate here for our first date (to bad the food wasnt good for such a significant event) he had fettucini.. i saw him have about three bites.. he washed it down with stale bread and a glass of water that the waitress felt the need to refill after every sip. I had the spaghetti.. i could not muster the courage to eat it.. over powered with spices.. im not even sure the chef (if you can call him that) knew what the spices were.. over rated and highly priced.. atmopshere was nice but after you just ate somthing not fit for a dog you dont seem to appreciate the atmosphere. read more

Went here for a birthday dinner with 6 others. Staff were helpful and polite. The food was amazing! We ordered the crostini special and the artisan meat and cheese board. Both appetizers were great - crostini was especially phenomenal. 4 of us got the gnocchi, 3 got the pasta with beef tenderloin and truffle cream sauce - woah! All of us were amazed! Then we got 3 desserts to share - pumpkin creme brûlée, white chocolate cheesecake and tiramisu. Staff had no problem splitting the bill various ways. I even got a free shot of limoncello to sip on. I'm going back the next chance I get! read more

The grilled octopus was a bit overcooked but the spicy gnocci was pretty good. Service was prompt and staff friendly.

This is my boyfriend's and mine upscaley, special occasion restaurant. Birthdays, anniversaries, Vday, it's all here. The food is always a generous portion, the service phenomenal, and the experience one to remember. Their beef carpaccio is divine. We've had a number of things, but favourites include the gnocchi with the pumpkin puree, braised goat ravioli, and the lemony chicken. So fresh and delicious, I always look forward to returning read more

Great food and great service! Their menu is constantly changing, therefore they have the opportunity to showcase many flavours in alternative ways. Awesome atmosphere, staff always attentive. read more

Great service and many tasty options. I had the Ontario rack of lamb feature with seasonal vegetables - delicious!

No Customer Service This restaurant is not what it use to be. When this restaurant first opened several years ago the food was fantastic and service was very good. I recently went back with a guest from France. We were left standing waiting for acknowledgement from wait staff and the manager for many minutes as everyone went about their business as though we were invisible. When the owner/manager finally came up to us, he didn't greet us or look interested. I told him we were standing here for a long time and he didn't apologize or make us feel welcomed. He walked away to clear a table which I presume was for us even though there were empty tables where he could of seated us immediately. After waiting again for several minutes we decided to go where we felt like our money was wanted. Bertoldi's greeted us professionally from the moment we walked in the door. Even though there was no hosted a waiter that was passing by, said "welcome, I'll get someone to look after you right away". And the food was great too! read more

Great place to go for a change of pace. Warm friendly atmosphere, great staff. We attended as a guest and even though Italian isn't my favourite type of food, I was impressed. Recommend read more

I came into Albruzzi because it was a top rated restaurant on both yelp and tripadvisor. I had been craving gnocci for a while now so I knew I wanted Italian and I decided to check it out here. I am so glad I came! I wanted a substantial meal so I went for steak and gnocci instead of just gnocci served on its own. I asked for rare and it was cooked very pink. The steak was served with fresh green peas and spinach, as well as the gnocci I mentioned before. The gnocci was pan-seared and had a nice crunch to it. Overall great meal with a great server too. read more

This restaurant is awesome. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly and the service and food are fabulous. The heirloom tomato salad is to die for -- the tomatoes are perfectly ripe, sweet, flavourful and heavenly. The whole wheat pasta with shrimp and scallops was delicious -- just the right amount of light oil sauce and very flavourful. The gnocchi was perfectly spiced and delicious and the pizza had a perfect crust and was very flavourful. And to top it all off -- the creme brule was the best -- a very thin carmelized layer on top with a creamy and delicious brule inside and topped with a huge, perfectly ripe and delicious blackberry. This was our second visit to Abruzzi and it was just as great the second time as the first. The restaurant fills up quickly; we went on a Tuesday night and had a reservation for 6pm and by 7 pm the restaurant was full. Suggest making a reservation to avoid disappointment. Absolutely superb and very enjoyable meal. read more

I used to be there many times when I stayed in London ! Food and wine are great . Atmosphere is pleasant .

Expected a nice dinner but the restaurant was very loud and (despite having reservations) we were seated between two large loud groups and I had to ask to be moved. The pasta was in a clump SOAKED in olive oil... Both my wife and I had a ton of oil left in the bowl/plate. Go to Abruzzi for a drink and a bite but not your anniversary! read more

Great pizza! My only complaint is the drinks are a ripoff. Too much ice, I finished my whisky sour in two sips

Came here for dinner with friends and had a great experience. The service was fast and friendly, and the place was quite busy for a Wednesday night. I had the Cauliflower Steak. It was amazing and I was very happy to find a vegetarian meal that was not a pasta! Loved the experience and would recommend the restaurant for a nice dinner date or celebration! read more

I have to agree with many of the other reviews. Ambience is great, food is ok. Depends what's important to you.

This place is a joke. They don't even tell you what time they close. Their overuse of pecorino cheese is disgusting. They put it in everything. The chef must be an idiot. I went in sat down and ended up leaving. As an Italian I'm offended by the menu. All the review are fake they are doing it themselves. read more

This is by far the BEST restaurant in London. We have eaten here several times and not only is the wait staff extremely helpful and attentive, but the food is delicious. My favourite is the wild boar ravioli, which is melt in your mouth. I would highly recommend. read more

Excellent food. Somewhat expensive, but not excessive. Great service from wait staff. Good ambiance inside. Would definitely go here again if in town. Has butternut squash ravioli with sage butter, along with appetizers. read more

In a city filled with mediocre restaurants this is one of the few I will patron. The pastry chef is a particular standout.

Great food, made fresh. Somewhat expensive but well worth a visit. Both lunch and dinner have been excellent experiences.

Awesome vibes, food was incredible, wait staff was great! Started with the pear and arugula salad then finished with the gnocchi... Both of which were amazing, definitely a must!! read more

Group of 9 at our table. It took quite some time for our orders to be taken, but otherwise the service was excellent. We had crab cakes to start and they were good. I had the whole wheat angel hair pasta with shrimp and scallops. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The dish could have used more variety - it consisted of mostly pasta aside from the seafood. It was also drenched in an oily sauce which became more noticeable towards the end of the dish - there was a pool of it sitting at the bottom of the bowl. Two other people at the table ordered the risotto and both only ate about half of it, complaining that it was too rich. I think the chef needs to rely less on butter and oil to give flavor to the food. Overall, the service was excellent but the quality of the food was disappointing, given what we were expecting for the price. I don't think I will return. read more

Owner not professional and actually rude. Waitress, Sara, very nice and attentive. Food ok. Rather goto Bertoldi's next time.

First ever review because Abruzzi is worth it! Ate there on Monday night and service was impeccable and the food was even better. Had their feature crostini with rabbit pate, pecorino and arugula then onto the duck gnocchi. Sister had carpaccio and filet, then finished with coffees and their homemade icecream which was to die for. Service was unbelievable. highly, highly recommended. read more

This place still holds my favourite meal of all time, the duck entree. Love the environment and service is high class. However, my second time here both dishes were overly salty, very salty. I was let down to say the least. Bring back the beef tenderloin and gnocchi, amazing. Dessert was great and would still recommend to people. I hope to go back and get the amazing food I remember. read more

Abruzzi is in a pretty competitive location, across from the Market and next door to La Casa, an established local favourite. We visited mid week to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful meal. The menu relies on locally sourced organic produce prepared with a North Italian theme. As appetizers we had seasonal crostini, which had a really excellent locally produced proscuitto and some very fresh and tasty oysters served with a trio of fresh relish. As mains we had a spagetti with veal and pork meatball ragu, braised rabbit penne, sweet pea cannelloni with lobster and a veal tenderloin with celeriac. All were very good. The chef relies on the quality of his ingredients and does not lean on salt for flavour. The wine list offered good variety, included Ontario wines in keeping with the emphasis on local sources, and was reasonably priced. Dessert was tiramisu, gelato and lemon cheesecake. Hope to go back soon to try their pizzas, which we couldn't fit into this meal. Cost was $65 per person (including wine, taxes and tip). read more
