Our tour guide was Charlie, and he was incredible! He was very knowledgable, interesting, and funny. He answered all of our questions and made it a great way for us to learn about the history of Old Town while getting a little spooked. Without a doubt, I would recommend this tour to anyone in the area - locals looking for a new thing to do, or visitors like ourselves wanting to find something different but informational. It's reasonably priced, and well worth what you pay. They use videos, photos, and EVP recordings to enhance the stories behind the ghosts who are said to haunt Old Town. Charlie was a great guide and we enjoyed our time on his tour! Definitely do this when in Albuquerque, you can't miss it! read more

There is a free historical tour of Old Town which leaves every Saturday at 10am from the lobby of the Hotel Albuquerque. Charlie Frates was the guide the day we took it. He id's friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. A good time was had by all. After, we could see the buildings and streets "through different eyes." read more

So I haven't written a review in a LONG time but now I must. I went on a ghost tour last night and it was awesome! Charlie was our guide and he was truly incredible!!! It was a great time and I strongly recommend Charlie for employee of the month...Riley was sweet too! read more

I came on the ghost tour here. The guides were well informed and entertaining. My disappointment is that they stop a lot to show you video from the Travel Channel. I don't come on a tour like this to huddle around a personal DVD player - I could watch video at home. read more

A great tour. Pat the Tour Guide was fun and informative. We took an out of town friend with an interest in history and we enjoyed it at least as much as she did. I learned so many cool things about my city I had never heard or read before, who knew! It was fun and I recommend the tour highly. read more

Very good Ghost Tour. Lady in Black was a highlight...as was the story of the horseshoe in the middle of the road. Craig, our host, was well informed, cheerful, and Misty was very accommodating. read more

Our guide was a great story-teller and was very engaging. One of the best ghost tours we've been on.

We had a great time on our tour last night. Our guides were great, entertaining stories and great history of Old Town and Albuquerque. I highly recommend the tour for Albuquerque natives as well as anyone coming to town. read more

We had a great time on our ghost tour last night. Our tour guide, Charlie was a great story teller with some good humor and had a lot of detailed stories. Ive lived here most of my life and didn't really know any history of old town at all before this so it really opened my eyes to what we have here. BTW. The tour guides accept tips after the tour so take a few extra dollars if you can. We wish we would have. Sorry Charlie. read more

This tour was a lot of fun. Our group was small, just our family of 6 and 1 other couple. Tammy and Charlie were our guides. The stories about the history of old town were very interesting and Tammy is an entertaining story teller. I would definitely recommend this tour...who knows, you just might see a ghost. read more

This was our first visit to Albuquerque, and we did this Ghost Tour our first evening in town. What a great way to get to know Downtown, and have a little fun. Our guide Craig was super nice and a lot of fun. We loved the stories! read more

Josh was our tour guide and he was funny and friendly the entire time! He answered my questions and was quick witted! I really enjoyed this tour! read more

Tammy was an amazing storyteller and Angela keep us out of harms way on our ghost tour! Added just enough of history in the tales to really give you the chills as you wander through Old Town. read more

My mom and I took the ghost tour with Charlie last week. It was so fascinating to hear the stories - some sad, some scary. Charlie was a great tour guide - very detailed and he threw in a lot of humor when he could. He suggested that we take a lot of pictures and then review them for paranormal images before we left. The distance of the walk itself was not long - just a loop around the plaza and its side streets. (Just watch out for people in cars playing Pokemon Go while you're on foot - they're not always watching for pedestrians.) I would definitely do another tour here if I find myself in ABQ again! read more

Very fun tour! I did a ghost tour of old town Albuquerque. It is about a 2 hour tour, it's not scary, but there is some disturbing subject matter so I think some kids could be fine and other kids should stay home, depending on age and personality. read more

The nightly ghost tour is great for anyone who wants to learn about some of the darker history of Albuquerque. We went on a tour with Nancy, who was an absolutely fantastic tour guide-- she is very knowledgeable about the history of the city and is a superb storyteller. I definitely recommend this tour. read more

Was not too impressed. Tour guide tried too hard to be funny and it didn't work. There are lots of ways they could add authenticity to the tour and the computer videos. read more

I did the 8pm ghost tour and loved it! It was just me and 3 other ppl so it was a small group, which was good. Even if you're not into ghost stuff (which I'm really not) it's still a cool way to find out about some Albuquerque history. The tour guides were good (Emily and jenn). The tour is about 2 hrs and was a little under $40 for 2 ppl. And they offer aaa discounts and student discounts. Definitely worth the money read more

The tour was excellent. Our guide Charlie was informative and a superb story teller and was considerate of his younger tourists. The walk was easy, a spot to set was available at just about stop. I've been on ghost tours in New Orleans before and this one was definetly their equal. read more

Great Tour. Took the Tour with my Husband. It was very informative, historical and romantic and exciting. Our Guide was fun and entertaining. I recommend this to anyone visiting or who lives in the area. read more

We had a tour on the evening of September 3rd during a monsoon storm with lightning and a heavy downpour. Charlie and Riley did a great job continuing the tour, keeping us dry and relaying the stories. Our group included seniors and one small child. The tour has some multimedia with a video at one stop and the replay of some EVP audio recorded during investigations. The tales were very interesting and the back drop of the real sites in Old Town made them better. read more

This is our first time doing a ghost tour and we definitely enjoyed it even know who is really cold and snowy that night. I can't remember the tour guide name (Fred?) but he was very friendly and full of knowledge of the area! read more

This was our first ghost tour and we both really enjoyed it! Our tour guide was funny and energetic! He knew a lot of the history of Old Town. We didn't see any ghosts, but we did encounter a man who got out of his car and asked if they had a license to give the tour. He was in a bad mood and sped off after the tour guides assistant gave him the info he demanded. Our tour guide still kept our tour going and never seemed worried. The man who got out of his car seemed to be driving by us about 4 times. Our tour guide did tell us that Old Town is a big spot for the Pokemon Go app. read more

Enjoyed it! Long walk but interesting to learn about. We had 3 fun guides. ..and a good group rate.

Got our tickets on Amazon Local so got a nice deal for six people. We went the day before Halloween since I'm only in town for the weekend and there was a HUGE crowd. We got paired up with Kevin and Jimmy (I really hope that's his name). They were very engaging, sharing the stories of the ghosts that haunt one of my favorite places ever. They talked with you along the way to each stop and I got to see a part of Old Town I never saw before and the most stunning temple I will ever see. Everyone in the party had a good time. The only complaint I have is that I went with my grandparents that couldn't keep up with the people my age so we missed a lot of information between each stop and twice we kinda lost our way because both guides ran ahead. I'll gladly do it again, but maybe by myself. read more

Just finished an amazing ghost tour with Brad and Angie. We were able to get an 8pm private tour for our family. Everyone wore masks and kept their distance. It was a great tour and something very different that we could enjoy as a family. During the ghost tour, we got a great history lesson of Albuquerque which was something I was excited about when we first booked the tour. The walking was not a problem and we had people in our group as young as 9 and as old 51, but it is an easy walk and you don't feel like it is too much because there are a lot of pauses and times where you sit down and hear recordings of ghosts, etc. You can also keep an eye out for orbs and it's important to take pictures and then look back later and see what you see :) Brad and Angie were great, very friendly and personable. Definitely a must do if you are coming to Albuquerque. We absolutely loved it and this is perfect to get outdoors and do during COVID-19. read more

We went to the 8pm Ghost Tour led by Charlie and David. Lots of fun, just the right balance of mystery, history, shivers and weirdness. Charlie, a voice over artist, spun spooky tales with his sonorous voice. David, a card-carrying ghost hunter, fascinated us with odd stories, video and EVP evidence. They promised us 90 minutes of ghost touring, but ended up going closer to two hours. Our hosts graciously answered all questions and even stayed after the tour. Guys, the cost is really low for a tour. Tip your guides! I'll be back in Albuquerque this fall, and think a moonlight ghost tour sounds awesome! read more

I did the ghost tour at 8pm with Allison. She killed it and made the tour even that much better. I would highly recommend the tour!!

Craig and Bernie were awesome tour guides! The Scarlett story is especially entertaining with audience participation. Very interesting and worth the money! Also learned some history of ABQ and Old Town. This is a walking tour so wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water in the summer. Would go again as each tour is unique. read more

I agree with Cara. The Tour Guide was informed and animated. But if they described it as a History Lesson on Legitmate Ghosts Found in Old Town it would be fine. I guess we expected a Ghost Busters type of tour. You walk around and yes see some video, along with ghost sighting information. The ambiance was awful. You are walking around Old Town at 8PM wanting to be a bit scared, but with all of the towns lights on it made it difficult! There were a couple of areas that I had no idea existed in Old Town which was nice. So if you want to be a Ghost Buster this isn't the tour. If you want to hear stories of what Ghosts has been documented and a history of Old Town then yes this is your tour. read more

I wish I could give this tour a positive review, but I cannot. Our guide (I think his name was Vince; he said he was from Vaughn, NM) wasn't so hot In fact, I felt uncomfortable at times. Not for me, but for him. He tried to be funny. He was not. He tried to be scary. He was not. He tried to tell interesting ghost tales. He could not. I expected a lot more professionalism from a tour guide, but as soon as he started using poor grammar and loud talk, I knew it was not meant to be. His ghost tales were long and involved, and lacked credibility. He often would tell anecdotal stories about himself, something I could care less about. (These were shared feelings by my wife. daughter, and her boyfriend. Many of his ghost tales were not ghost tales at all. Not even close. ( After all, this was a tour to tell the patrons about ghosts in the Old Town are). The Lady in Red story was interesting, but very, very long. The Lady in Black story was a good one, but again he dragged in out ad infinitum. His story about the spurned lover. Well, it was inaccurate. If tours are going to given, and good money paid for these tours, then accuracy and facts should be checked. And finally, where was the ghost story about the staircase in La Placitas? Wasn't even mentioned. My advice: if you book a tour, ask for someone other than Vince (or whatever his name is). The positive reviews I read recommended a couple. Craig was his name: I forget hers. Check them out. They got very positive reviews. read more

We took the nightly ghost tour and it was well worth the price! We were not from or familiar with the area, but learned a great deal of history from this little ghost tour. Our group was small (4-5 people) and we were allowed plenty of time to ask questions. Our tour guide was very educated on the history of albuquerque and knew many stories about the city's spooky past. This tour and the company are both highly recommended! I wouldn't mind taking another tour from them in the future! read more

AWESOME!!! Me and a group of RNs went for the ghost hunting tour. We all were all impressed with the staff, the sights, our pictures, and every experience we had. One of my orb pics made it to the FACEBOOK sit for the tours of Old Town. We actually ended up going on another tour a few weeks later because we enjoyed it so much. Again, we had a blast!!!! read more

So, I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. I went on one of their ghost tours last night and enjoyed myself. FYI, there are several tours that they have so this review is a review on the Ghost Tour of Old Town. The tour was well polished, kept on time, stories were entertaining, the tour guide obviously loved her job, and I got to see some on the interesting areas of Old Town. I loved the chapel and will definitely being going back during the day to get a better look at everything. The tour is as Lisa described, a lot of history. But I don't mind that. They do show some video, but only at select locations (where you can sit down for a few minutes which is important for some). They also have recordings of EVP's that have been recorded at some of the places and they play those for you. The recordings were done by the local ghost hunters group. Also, the guide does show you some of the old pictures of what the town used to look like - starkly different in some areas. The tours are a bit tailored to the people in the group. All adults, you'll get a more adult version of some of the stories. The groups are kept very small and the guide does wear a microphone that they will use if necessary. While i probably won't go back on this tour unless there are guests in town that want to do it, I will definitely try other offerings they have since this one was well organized and the guides were entertaining and knew how to address the group appropriately. read more

Myself and my family are life time locals and went on a ghost tour this weekend. We had a great time together along with our two tour guides Craig and Sofia. Both guides told ghost stories myself and my family haven't heard before being locals and all. Craig was the main narrator of the evening he's very, enthusiastic and hums a tone I still can't get out of my head. He was very kind to answer all questions any of us had and even added "extra" perk stories along the tour. I love this tour, Albuquerque has so much history, I have one request. If maybe adding stories about the "Bottger Mansion","Church Street Cafe-shout out for the best fajitas in old town!","Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town","Casa Esencia-formally Maria Teresa" and one of my absolutely favorite the "Chapel".. I know we asked Craig about the Chapel because we noticed it wasn't apart of the tour, he said there is new owners who don't quit agree with the Chapel begin apart of the ghost tour. Well, maybe when the new owners go in the Chapel late at night and see a women dressed in all black from head to toe, wearing a sheer cover to cover her face, sitting in the corner against the wall they might change there mind...lol let's cr read more

The tours and the people who run them are great. They not only care about history, but also about Old Town itself and are involved. You can see that by how many people around Old Town know them - and that's impressive. It's a company that's not just about making money in a community, but also about the community itself. Take a tour and you'll see what I mean. read more

Other reviewers seem to have enjoyed exotic options such as the ghost tour and the moonlight tour. I was interested in the history of Albuquerque and New Mexico, and was appalled by the misinformation our tour guide provided. I'm not an expert on the subject but I do teach history and had to bite my tongue several times over errors large and small that our tour guide made. You have other options for tours of the Old Town of Albuquerque; if you are interested primarily in the history, avail yourself of one of the other choices. read more

We loved our ghost tour!!! Santa Charlie was AMAZING. We had a larger group (25-30 people) and the tour ran a little long. He was more than willing to extend the tour a little longer so we could hear all of the stories. Charlie was great with the younger children in the group (ages 7,12) and he even let a few wonderers join our tour (for a few stories). Great time. I'll be coming on another tour next time I'm in town. Thank you!! read more

Craig and Ed were wonderful guides! I strongly recommend this tour and I had an awesome time! Would come back again!
