Bob's Custom Windows & Siding

Bob's Custom Windows & Siding

(4 reviews)

We were told to make sure we got a quote for our window and siding projects through Bob's because…read moreno one can beat their prices. My husband was there for the walk through, but said the guy was there for 5 minutes, took just a couple of measurements, said a quote was coming, and left. Not even time for questions. I had detailed notes and questions written down because we have an old house, and just need to cover our bases. None were answered. It was mentioned that we'd like to replace a bow window and completely remove the bow, and he never took measurements of the walls or anything like that. Where as, you'd think you'd want to know depth and such to ensure you've got it right. My husband was never asked what type of efficiency window he'd like, or shown what the window options even looked like. The quote came through and I honestly laughed. $45k for windows and siding and we had already replaced 7 windows previously, so this isn't even all of them. But even on the quote, it's just a vague description of the windows. The windows quote was $4k more than a franchise place we had just come out for a quote. My husband was told that their schedule was wide open until after July 4 because people go on vacations. I think it's just because people don't want to pay that much for something they haven't even seen or know what it will turn out to look like!

So asked for a quote for 2 windows for a kitchen remodel we have been trying to schedule. Came in…read moreand measured quickly, said he'd get a quote to me soon. A week later, needing to schedule our kitchen project and no call back from Bob's yet, I call them and still no quote available for not sure what reason, but will have it soon. 2 more weeks go by, I call back and am told someone will call me by the end of the day. 1 more week goes by (a month at this point) with no call back. I call again and was told "the boss"would call me back the next day. The next day came and went and still no quote! 1 month and 4 follow up phone calls from me at this point, wtf?! Needless to say I've long since had other companies give me quotes, just curious why they never attempted to get in touch with me again?

Infinity Exteriors

We went with Infinity Exteriors to replace the old wooden siding on our 1970s-era house and replace…read morea couple of the remaining original windows. Their reasonable bid made it possible for us to add a third window replacement that we weren't initially considering. Scott was wonderful to work with as we contemplated our choices. We especially appreciate that he didn't try to oversell us; in fact, he offered a different option on the third window replacement that actually brought the price down a bit. It's also a much more functional window; we love it. Scott also didn't rush us on our decision, and the crew that came out was polite, efficient, and cleaned up thoroughly after finishing. Our house looks great--we love the result!

Nothing but trouble with this company. Ordered 9/9/2025. It is now 1/13/2025. Workers came 3 days…read morein Nov. They failed to install kick plate at back door, and failed to install master blocks around one electrical outlet and doorbell (so cannot use). Kick plate was later installed, but not master blocks, even though they have sent people out several times (and once told me it had been done--I was sick and unable to check). The worst thing is that the color is not as shown on the manufacturer's website ( Cedar Knolls, "Cactus"). It is grey, not green. It also does not match the mock-up Infinity sent me via email so I could see what it looked like on my house. They did not have a siding sample on their wall when I went to pay my deposit (they had lots of others). The house looks terrible. They have sent different people out to look at the color on at least 4 occasions. They say it doesn't matter what the color looks like on the website or mock-up, the one the put on is called 'Cactus'. Today they came out and then called to tell me they were going to put a Lien on the house if I didn't pay the balance--and the job is not even finished! My husband and I are both vets and disabled and in our 70s (one of their big selling points was they "love" veterans). They told me Norandex would take $500 off the balance, or put up some kind of contrasting color on part of the front of the house--I can't even imagine how awful that would look! All I want is the green shown on the website and in the mock-up. This was a very expensive project for us. $500 would not make up for ruining the exterior of our house. EDIT: As soon as this Yelp review posted, ai got a phone call from Infinity saying a man 2ould be out right away to installl the blocks on the back wall and the doorbell. He installed only the block on the back wall. I have posted labeled photos from the Norandex website, the mock-up, and the actual siding. As I said, zi asked to see a sample of the siding when I dropped off my deposit, but they said they did not have one We had gotten 5 estimates and I had looked at dozen of swatches. No one be expected to keep them all straight. As to seeing it in different conditions, over the course of their several visits they saw it in sun and shadow. As to Norandex's offer of the batten stuff, I was never shown an example of even what that is, but i only want horizontal siding, as I ordered. I am not opposed to paying for satisfactory work, but we have not reached that stage yet. I am just very sick of being jerked around by them. If they or Norandex came up with a reasonable offer, I would consider it. $500 off a major project is a joke. Our house has depreciated more than that due to the horrible siding color. At the very least, both companies misrepresented the colors they are selling. Most companies want to do right by their customers because it takes at least 3 new customers to make up for one lost one.
