They just finished redoing my pool deck. Did a great job and I am so thankful to them for the work they did! I tried working with two large franchises - Titan and Platinum - but they were only interested in 'easy' work. I had two cracks that needed repair and they first gave me a high estimate but when pressed came up with lots of excuses why they would not do it. Mr Wood and his crew - never said never -got it done and it looks fantastic. The price - he quoted thousand less then the others - and came in about $500 under estimate. TERRIBLE experience. Do not let the cheap quote entice you, it is NOT worth it. A week long job took months and was never done correctly. Once he started, we were stood up multiple times and had to hound him to reply and show up. He talked a good game, but did not deliver. Mr. Woods was hired to demolish an old garage and pour a square slab. We were left with an out-of-square, wrong size, poorly poured slab that we had to repair ourselves. It was so far off our building couldn't be installed and we had to cut a portion off and pour more on another side. Such a stressful and frustrating experience. read more

Absolutely horrible dishonest and poor job I wouldn't accept his assistance for free took them over a month to mess up a slab

1 star an overstat Mr. Woods took 6800 as a deposit for a retaining wall, 2 porch slabs, and slab for bonus room. after 6 months of excuses for not starting work, I finally threatened small claims and BBB - he commits to start with slab- pour scheduled Saturday, no form work completed all week, finally shows up Saturday at 9- concrete scheduled for noon (which he had me pay additional for concrete - direct to concrete company). slab cracked, uneven, not level, not square. I followed up beginning the next day and he absolutely ghosted me. had to hire structural engineer to determine how to fix his colossal mess - without paying to tear it out altogether. 10,000+ so far for repairs. his website pictures look NOTHING like my finished job. The multiple five star google reviews are nothing like my experience. MR. Woods stained new and old concrete, the old looks good the new concrete he put in was stained and sealed too soon and is unacceptable. He came and pressure washed but doesn't feel it's his responsibility to finish the job. read more

Let me start off by saying I had high hopes for William and his company even in spite of bad reviews. He arrived to my house and was counseled on exactly what I wanted for the kitchen which was black concrete countertops and backsplash. He was confident after consulting that he could do the job. Here we are 50 days later and the job is not complete. William has been heard talking negatively about me in my driveway while on the phone which I didn't address with him until I was given the runaround then ghosted after he asked me to pay him early. I now have to pay someone to undue and fix what he's done. He was given the opportunity to resolve the situation and I offered to receive a refund minus the material cost but he has since retracted his stance on that as well. Took a week to pour after the driveway was grated, little communication. There's a crack in the driveway now, not sure what to do about it. They broke my neighbors hose and then she complained to me. He was flexible with me in allocating concrete to the front versus the back since we had leftover, will give it to him. The job is done but he left a pile of dirt and promised he'd come and get it several times. Told me to "suck it up with my ass" today. I reached out to one of the references he sent me after not hearing from him after "giving me his word" that he'd come get it. He was actually threatening me and made up a bunch of excuses, blaming me for being cheap, as to why he hasn't picked it up despite promising that he would (see screenshots). So I'm writing a bad review here, the least I could do. So you can avoid having the same problem Sean and I had. He's got a lot of energy and if it's not used pouring concrete then it can be used against you. Nice guy but turned into a complete asshole once the check was cashed then completely told me to go fuck myself after I haven't heard from him and reached out to one of his references. Beware- William Woods- Owner of Above Average Concrete- Augusta, GA. He talks an impressive game but makes promises that he rarely keeps. Bottom Line Up Front- it's been 6 months and he still hasn't come to fix the broken sprinkler line he capped under the concrete. He hasn't come to finish the pool steps we prepaid for and we had to settle for a less than acceptable job on our garage epoxy...tire marks because he gave us bad info on when we can park on it. Meanwhile, still having faith in him and his promises of coming to fix it, we sent him lots of business and even gave him a great deal (1/3rd the price) on my brand new $3700 shed my HOA disapproved and like new flat top range right out of my house. We even offered to share our masters tickets with him and his wife. We feel like he took advantage of our kindness and our Christian demeanor. We have always treated him like family and paid him well. Njoiow we have to pay someone else to come and fix his work and let this be a warning to other homeowners. I'm attaching a video of the leak and some of the text messages to both my wife and I that he would come. This doesnt include the many phone call promises as well. Now we see advertisements from him for more work and he continues to ignore us. I was once a believer of William Woods and Above Average Concrete but we have lost total faith in him and we question everything he has said and done now. We are emotionally exhausted and hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. Mr. Woods and his team were the consummate professionals. He gave a VERY fair and reasonable estimate. It was also the first time I had a contractor who didn't find a reason to charge me for additional fees as the protect progressed. The work was done rather quickly especially in the midst of a heavy rainy season. They worked diligently between the rain and my walkway is GORGEOUS !! I am now actually looking for other projects for him to do and now and have referred him to all of my friends. read more
