Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk today was extremely disappointing. I scheduled an appointment last Friday for today at 10:30 AM. I arrived 10 minutes early, checked in, and waited. After some time, I was told by the receptionist that I did not have an appointment. I explained that I had called to schedule it and even showed my phone records as proof. Rather than trying to resolve the issue or look into what may have gone wrong, she repeatedly insisted that I did not have an appointment. When I suggested she check with the staff member who handled scheduling that day, she dismissively stated she didn't need to "have a conversation about something that never happened." At that point, the situation became less about the appointment and more about her approach. Her tone was condescending and unprofessional. When she said, "Anyways, so you were supposed to have an appointment at 10:30?" it felt dismissive and disrespectful--especially given that I was calmly trying to explain and provide proof. As a medical professional of 14 years, I understand that scheduling errors can happen. However, how those situations are handled is what matters. I would never speak to a patient this way, especially in a healthcare setting where empathy and professionalism should be the standard. Because of this interaction alone, I chose to leave and not proceed with the appointment. It's very unfortunate, bc I genuinely think highly of Dr. Danek, but this experience with the front desk staff is enough for me to not return again unless it's rectified.

Her name is Dr. Marianne Rosen, and I'm not giving her 5 stars just cuz she went to Northwestern medical school, woot woot. But that doesn't hurt, Go 'Cats! She's hit the nail on the head for 3 issues I have seen her for - hives, a technical condition called angular cheilitis (google it if interested), and most recently basic wintertime eczema. In all three instances, she not only nailed the diagnosis, but also promptly provided the prescriptions, creams, and practices to remedy the issue. I really became a fan after she resolved the angular cheilits for me about a year ago with a blend of 2 prescription creams. I had put up with the cheilitis for about 2 years on and off and even after consultations (and non-resolutions) with my PCP, my allergist, and even ad hoc recommendations from my dentist. I was talking to any medical professional about possible remedies, and fortunately didn't have to find a witch doctor which I was starting to consider. Dr. Rosen has offices in Park Ridge, Glenview, and Wilmette and I have seen her at the first two just based on earliest availability. Her staff is helpful and professional and the Forefront Dermatology practice does like using a text messaging system for communication but they will do it over the phone as well.

I'm sure that all the docs and assistants do it all also but to have that one special person that does only that, well, it meant a lot to me. I have also seen Melissa Lambert as a consultant for general skin advise and she's injected me also. She is the best too. I can't say enough about these 2 ladies and their skills. I only went to this doctor and didn't check pricing at other places, so I'm not sure if the procedure pricing is comparable to other offices. It seemed a little high, but the customer service was very good - they always run on time, answer the phone immediately when you call, and give a courtesy call the next day after you have a procedure to make sure you're doing okay. The pricing is the only reason for 4-star review instead of a 5-star review.

What I love most about this office is the attentive care received from everyone on staff. I always know what to expect, appointments are timely and easy to make, and my doctor is open and honest with me. If I want something done and he doesn't think it will do much good, he's honest about that. That's what truly stands out. An independent medical practice where they aren't trying to just receive money and add unnecessary procedures. What's more is the wide variety of languages spoken by staff. Highly inclusive environment and great for anyone who might have anxiety going into medical offices.
