As a homeowner, I have been mystified by the quest to find the perfect paint color. It seems there are just too many paints color options. The reason I believe it has become so much more difficult is because there are too many shades of colors. Such as the color white, one would be surprised the number of shades of white one can explore. Once you have decided to refresh your homes appearance with new colors, the next challenge is all the various retail stores to choose from and the choice of manufacture. Our retail paint store choice has always been Aboff's Paints, and our paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore. The service that we have received from Aboff's has always been outstanding. Our problem has always been choice of paint color, not paint manufacturer. Unfortunately, Benjamin Moore, has over 3,500 colors to choose from, which is incredible. Aboff's has been complimentary in most cases on our final choices, which does help a little bit.

When my painter saw the two gallons of paint, he immediately asked why the finish was in eggshell and that the walls would be super shiny. This is more for a bathroom. I called Aboff's and told them about the situation and asked if there was any way they could take it back as the paints totaled $98.00. Instead of apologizing about the inconvenience, the worker started raising his voice and said eggshell is his most popular finish and that's what he would use on his walls and that if I wanted a flat finish I should have said so. But I do not work at a paint store and do not have knowledge on this stuff, and that is why I specifically told them that it was for a bedroom and asked them what to get. Even if the finish is a personal choice, the way they spoke to me and handled the issue was horrible. Never going back.

    DO NOT SHOP HERE! I am not one that typically posts reviews, but this place is an absolute mess. My…read morewife and I requested two skylight shades to be installed/ordered as this is well out of my scope of handyman expertise. The owner Joy originally sent her son to measure/give a written estimate and we shortly after arranged to drop off a deposit and have items ordered. Late evening the day before our scheduled drop off, we were called stating that they were increasing the price as the son had provided a bad quote. After arriving to the store and questioning this we were also told while they were happy to take the deposit that they were no longer sure they could do the job and would have to send a more senior person back to evaluate. When they came back, almost a week later, the actual installer had to remeasure, as the owner's son had measured improperly as well, but said the job was of course doable. At that time the team seemed apologetic for the inconvenience and told us that if we trusted them they would make it right. As such, we decided as we had already invested the time to give the deposit and we were told they would be ready 4 weeks later for install. 2 weeks after, my wife called for an update and we were informed the shades shipped and due in the next day or two, but that since it was their busy season would not be able to schedule install until several weeks later (~5 week since ordering). 1 week prior to install we get a message saying they have to push back the date of install because the blinds weren't actually in/never even shipped. When talking to her son, he blamed a long term employee that "doesn't know how to use the computer" and when talking to Joy the owner, she states the person who originally told us everything was in while admittedly incompetent had worked their forever and allows it cause she is a loyal person. She then verbally berated me over the phone for making them upset! Do yourself a favor and go to a real store. These folks lie, continually change their story and misled us, particularly after taking our money. This experience has been nothing but a headache and a waste of our time.
