I bought screws and tools on a regular basis. I went to exchange an empty propane tank and they charged me $39 plus tax. I thought it was excessive. Today I went to True Value in Hampton Bays and they charged me $24 with tax!!! Amazing. So now I suspect everything that I have bought there has been top retail price. Maybe you need to shop around for better prices. Service is excellent but that is not the issue.

Today I went to buy a screw armed with the diameter of the screw opening and I was told (meanly) by the woman who "helped" me that the width of the screw doesn't matter only the "thread". Pointing out politely that this makes no sense only got me more attitude from the person helping me. Once I settled on my screw nobody would help me identify the dimensions of the screw in case I wanted to buy a second one. My advise is to drive to riverhead to Home Depot.

A nice young salesman approached me & I told him I needed to replace my microwave but I want one with a full rack in it, similar to what I currently have. He went & asked someone if there were any like that, & he returned to me with a no. I browsed & we chatted about my 14 yr old microwave that I love. I told him that I'll keep looking. Then I asked why don't they make them with the rack anymore? His response, "Because they're starting fires". I never show my element of surprise because ppl will always talk bs when you opt to listen. I couldn't believe he would spread such misinformation, which could lead to destroying a brand's reputation. I left the store, & decided to shop online. Disgusted by his comment. Some people just have to have an answer. That was not a smart answer, nor was it the truth. He needs to be retrained.

What a FUN place! So many interesting, useful things under one roof, at great prices! Snagged two…read morematching planter pots, some soil conditioner (absolutely STINKY stuff), body wash, apple butter, something pink flamingoes, and potting soil. I will say there were very few matching pots, so I was lucky. But the prices were much better than big box stores. Very large pots were $60 here, compared to $150 elsewhere. I also got two soaker hoses for $10 each. They had a large selection of rugs, all manner of non-refrigerated groceries, pool stuff, electronic accessories, hair appliances, housewares, party supplies, etc. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful, and signed me up for their free rewards card. And, OMG, they had GLUTEN-FREE OREOS!! I absolutely do not need to be eating cookies, but how could I resist? They were cheaper than at the supermarket. Sigh.
