So when I have a chance I've been driving out east to tour what's in the book. This is the oldest operating family run hardware store on LI. My dad and I met Charlie who was one of the employees featured in the book and he let us take a picture with him for instagram. I bought a Stanley. I was trying so hard not to get one but I finally caved. They had 30 oz ones for $40. I don't know if that was a good price or not but I got a nice green one. I wanted to support the store and wasn't sure what else to get I looked around to see if I could get a Christmas gift for someone on my list but didn't really find anything. Often, as soon as you walk in, they ask if they can help you find something. They even track down items and bring them to you! Parking on the street can be a challenge, but there is a public lot (time limited, keep an eye on it or you will get a ticket) directly behind the store.
