He sealed one side of the house first, put traps on the other side and then returned to seal them out permanently. It has been another few weeks and it is still quiet. It was time to call a wildlife specialist. The positive reviews I was reading for Upstate Pest & Wildlife Control were convincing enough for me to call them. They were able to schedule a visit for the next day. Jake from UPW&C (no relation to Jake from State Farm) arrived on time and assessed the situation. He was friendly, very informative, and knowledgeable. The cost for the services he proposed and explained was reasonable. He was able to set traps that same day. Jake returned after a couple of days to check the traps. While the traps had not caught anything yet, and we hadn't heard critters any longer in the ceiling, he made modifications and adjustments to the traps and planned another visit the following day. Today, after assuring that there were no more squirrels in the soffits, and no new points of entry, he removed the traps and sealed the soffit hole. (Note: one trap did have part of a squirrel's tail.) I definitely recommend this family owned business if you have problems with wildlife pests. Within minutes of requesting help on their Website they called me and gave me a quote. Their technician was free within two hours of our conversation due to a cancellation, their price was $100 cheaper than prior quotes I received, and so I booked it. The tech arrived in a timely manner, giving me a heads up when he was 10 mins away. He met me in front where we went over the bee situation, and explained what was going on from the insect's perspective, what he was going to do, and what to expect. I liked what I was hearing, so I let him do his thing. When he was finished, he had sprayed the hole in my brick home with some kind of powder and poison, killing the queen bee, and sending the workers into a frenzy (which he warned me about). By evening, they had all dispersed to a new location, and surprisingly I only found 2 or 3 dead bees at my doorstep. He warned me to wait 2 weeks before sealing the hole, so any babies can hatch and fly away, as opposed to digging through my walls and into my living room. He said they will head toward the light (like Carol Anne in Poltergeist), and fly away due to there no longer being a queen. Then I can seal it up, or call them if any appear to be returning at that time. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the results. Being a nature lover, not seeing a yellow and black reenactment of Jonestown was a definite plus for me. Customer service and the tech were both extremely friendly and professional. I highly recommend Upstate Wildlife Control and will be using them again in the future as needed.

We were covered under an exclusion program that was ineffective, disappointing and expensive. Mike came and did an inspection and proposed that they re-do our exclusion work and have the home serviced for general extermination on a regular basis. The original exclusion work done by the other company was 2 technicians for 4-6 hours. Mike and his team attacked every corner of the house and were on site for the better part of 2 days... and the best part was they quickly tracked down and located a rodent entry point that the other company repeatedly overlooked. Our history with continued pest infiltration caused a section of our finished basement ceiling to be riddled with mouse droppings. When I mentioned to Mike we were interested in replacing the ceiling, he offered their services and provided a proposal to not only remove and replace the ceiling, but to properly remediate the space with vacuuming, sanitizing, insulation replacement etc. Said another way, not just a ceiling replacement, but a proper environmental hazard clean up. The ceiling turned out beautiful and the entire space was cleaned and sanitized upon completion. The regular service has also been effective. We get the same technician who takes the time to properly check and treat inside and out. So far it was been a pleasure to have this team work in our home. They are polite, they arrive when they say they will and do what they said they will do. Special shout to Mike who has been at the helm of fixing what their competitor was unable to handle.

They do what's most important, which is provide a service for a reasonable price while keeping customers trust knowing they're not trying to sell me extra things every chance they get. 10/10 times I would use these people. They took care of some squirrels for me too. The service techs here stay in constant communication when needed (squirrels are quite a pest), and again I just really appreciate they don't try to get me for every dollar.
