We were looking to purchase an older home and are very grateful that we chose Able Home Inspections. We've been used to being on city water and sewer, and weren't thinking about a comprehensive inspection of the septic system. Able included a notation on their quote that they recommend having the septic inspected by a contractor, as it was an older home. I recalled a friend's septic system failing years ago and it cost her over $15,000 to replace. I began researching it and learned that the average life of a septic system is 15 years - which is the age of the house we were buying. We're trying to work out the details, but I am very grateful to Able for including this remark on their estimate. Their thoroughness helped to alert me to having a full check of the septic. Bruce is an outstanding home inspector. We used him to monitor the construction of our home. His inspections were thorough and I'm sure he saved us way more than the reasonable cost of his inspections in repairs had the items not been flagged and repaired by the builder during construction. We also used him for the one year follow-up inspection before the warranty ended, and he found an important item that needed to be repaired before the end of our warranty. He is well-read and knowledgeable about construction issues that the average inspector would not know, and in fact, he identified a potentially serious issue that the builder researched and resolved before closing. Professional reports were received timely and included detailed explanations and pictures. I would definitely use Bruce again and I recommend him to anyone who needs a competent home inspector. read more

We hired this company to complete a 4 point insurance inspection prior to purchasing a home. They did not advise us that the roof was in poor shape and had multiple patches. We needed to replace the entire roof at substantial cost of our own, versus being able to negotiate the cost into the purchase price of the home. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this company. read more
