He reported things working that he did not even check. One of the most obvious was the pool light. Said it was working satisfactory when in fact it was not working at all. The transformer had an obvious broken wire which was seen immediately once we opened the painted shut transformer box. Obviously he did not check it as the box was painted shut. Also the pool surface is awful despite him stating it was satisfactory. A pool company confirmed that the surface is wearing away quickly as the previous owner did not take care of the water properly. Looks like others have had the same experience of him stating things worked when he did not even check them. DO NOT RECOMMEND using this inspector.

We visited the condo a month later after closing and the garbage disposal was locked up and the dishwasher ran a cycle but no water was running. I reached out to Doug and he blamed the water being shut off to the dishwasher and that disposals sometimes lock up due to no use. If the water was shut off to the dishwasher then how did he inspect it? The water line to the dishwasher was in the on position when we got to the condo. I don't recommend someone who "inspects" something and does not make sure it is in fact working. I can't believe a disposal would lock up after only 1 month of not being used.

Electrical outlets and switches pushed into wall, kitchen light switch hot to the touch, lights flicker and dim, attic light switch trips guest room circuit, and neither door bell rings. EXCUSE from Marcus: He is not a licensed electrician. D. Condensation between high impact window panes; and mailbox metal split, peeling, and infested with insects. Broken roof tiles and loose fluttering roof diverter. EXCUSE from Marcus: He did not see these problems. OVERALL EXCUSE from Marcus: None of the above-mentioned problems or any of the other numerous problems existed at the time of the inspection or during the final walk-through with the realtor. We chose Home Check Systems based on the suggestion of our realtor and the stellar online reviews.
