Sorry, but YOU are the ones that installed and moved the smoke detector, NOT the contractor and now it's going to take a small fortune to fix their screw up (WHILE THEY GET OFF SCOTT FREE) to bring my house up to code. The second they agreed to do that they should made sure the job was up to code - even if it was "under their permit." Avoid at all costs.

He assessed the situation and was able to re-wire and install the ceiling fan which included a quick trip to the appliance store to provide a needed wall plate for that new fan. After that, he helped us reassemble and position bed that originally needed to be moved to get at the ceiling fan.
