The first repairman that came out was rather quick in diagnosing the repair; he changed the capacitor and the cool air only lasted 24 hours. The next repairman, Frank M., was VERY thorough. He spent hours carefully checking the outdoor unit, the indoor a/c closet, thermostat and breakers. He determined the unit needed a new fan motor. Kudos for being very patient & meticulous. read more

Told repairs would be made. Took off work three separate times and still the AC was broken and the parts were either wrong or stated supplier didn't have the part. Finally the parts arrived. took two hours to install. No big deal and was ok with the length however at the end I'm told a 11yr old unit may only have a year left to it because the original installer left fluid in my lines AGAIN 11yrs ago. No garment work would be right. No warranty on there work. Understand not on parts but at least say you'll cover any leaks if they occur! AC started back up at 78 and ran until mid night reaching 92degrees. Finally after two days the temp is down. Unit cooled fine before the repairs and needed a valve replaced. Asked to speak with management same day or in the morning and no call back! read more

I called because my AC wasn't working and I knew I was due for a maintenance call. I thought the guy that they sent out did a maintenance call and he told me I needed a blower. That lasted for not even two weeks then I had to call them again and the manager told me "we don't do maintenance calls this time of year. I said well if that was the case then why wouldn't you have told me that when I called you to begin with. They never said that because if they would've, I would've just called a different company. Instead they installed a new blower. Well that didn't last because the AC went out less than two weeks later so I called again and I spoke to the manager and she said oh we don't do maintenance calls this time of year. I said that's BS because no one told me to begin with so they sent another maintenance guy out and he blew the lines and voilà it works. I do not trust this company at all. They ripped me off over $300. read more

I love this company I have used them for about 20 years. I have purchased a AC from them. I have rental properties and they service the units. They do my private home and my parents home. Able Air employees were great from the initial meeting to discuss options for a complete unit replacement in my condo, through the scheduling and the day of installation. They were very professional and easy to work with. I purchased a Carrier 4 ton and it is quiet compared to my old unit. Your technician, Zack, repaired my home A/C this afternoon, finding relatively several small things that "others" could not find! Others said you need a new system and that would be a huge expensive to me as a retiree, I am so thankful and relieved. Thank God for Zack and his knowledge. Great young man. Thank you read more

Able Air is the best AC company in brevard for many reasons. In addition it was also the best service we've ever had. They care deeply about giving you a good product that will perform as advertised with friendly service and great value. The new AC systems are very efficient and will save you much money in the long term. Couldn't be better. read more

I had used Able Air since 2011 and wow did their service go downhill. For the first 3-5 years no real issue and their technicians seemed good and knowledgeable, last year I had a tech come out for an annual service and they miswired something, my compressor was making a loud thump sound and was still under warranty then. They said of course nothing wrong with unit, sure enough 1 year later it was bad. I just had service done with them end of June and they charged me for a service call to come out and tell me they can't fix the unit. They by no means are a 24 hour service, I had been put on their tech call list with no AC through the night on multiple occasions when I was still using them. Glad to have an entire new AC system with no Able Air markings on it, the techs are horrible and the company is a joke. read more

Can I give a zero star?! The most messed up administration this business has! Last Friday the old grumpy guy didn't listen and didn't fix all the problems Today after 2 days calling again for a repair man a cocky arrogant young guy started to argue back and I was the dumbest client there was in his eyes. Nothing wrong with your system ma'am it is Florida! So it is normal your temp inside goes up to 85 while the settings says 75? First you teach your clients a certain way to keep the drainage clean Later by problems you scald your co workers that that cleaning system is a fabel I can keep going on and on Time to stop and move on to another AC company read more

After buying an older home, we selected Able Air to provide a new air conditioner system in 2017 as we wanted a Carrier product. We were pleased with the Sales staff in negotiating the contract and with the Installation team in removing the old unit and the installation of the new Carrier unit. The contract included ten years of parts warranty and five years of labor warranty. A condition of the warranty requires that the system must have preventative maintenance annually. We just scheduled the maintenance for this year. An important note is the this was for preventative maintenance only and the unit was running at the time of this maintenance, and under parts warranty. The Able service tech came and I showed him the inside air handler and the outside condenser unit and left him to do the preventative maintenance. After he had not come back to report that he was complete, I went to ask his status. I was surprised to see that he had started to disassemble the outside condenser unit. He said that he had found the refrigerant low and was looking for a leak. He said the had found that the reversing valve with leaking. I asked him how much and how long to install a replacement part and returned inside as he said he was contacting his service department. When I returned in a few minutes he had further removed the compressor and accumulator and said that they too had leaks in them and that he had lost all the refrigerant and could not do replacement. He told me it would cost more than $1000 for labor only to replace the three parts. I said that makes no sense as the unit was running twenty minutes ago and there was no way the three parts suddenly developed leaks. I called the Able service manager while the tech was still here. He told me that the tech was mistaken about the cost to install the three parts and that it would instead be $3840, but because they could install all three at the same time, they would give a discounted price of $1768. I pointed out that I didn't think that the parts were bad a half hour ago before the tech started to disassemble the condenser. When I rejected the repair, he said that an Able sales rep would contact me the next day. The sales representative offered to sell me a new condenser for $5323, and would give me a $500 discount because Able wanted to keep me as a customer. I decided that I no longer wished to have any further business with Able Air and ordered a replacement Carrier condenser from their competitor from Cocoa Beach. They gave the me same price that Able had offered. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Latest failure on their part is amazing. We had a tech come to our home on Dec 19 because the fan motor stopped. Tech came in and diagnosed the issue as a bad ECM. He quoted me a price above $600. I said ok then he stated that he had a used testing ECM that he could install for a better price. I took that option. Unit worked fine. Then on 24 December we had to have heat so I set the unit at 65 degrees. Immediately we had the house fill with smoke. We shut down the unit and called 911. Fire department took the cover off of the air handler and saw that we had a fire in the control part of the handler where the 220 comes in. It totaled the entire unit. We then saw that the ECM had been hung with a zip tie. The invoice stated that the tech had worked on the wiring. I called Able and spoke to a man who seemed willing to help. Then I got stoned walled the next three times I called. I asked for the manager. He wouldn't call me back. He told the girl on the phone that we needed a "service call." I told her that we did and that we then had a fire. I called again and asked for the owner. These people would not talk to me. No return call, nothing. I left It to my insurance company who said that they would go after Able. Deservedly so. I have never dealt with such a poorly run company that hires unqualified techs. DO NOT USE ABLE AIR. Our insurance company had a restoration company contracted and we had Coastal Air from Melbourne install and do a follow up service. They were excellent and had experienced mature techs. DO NOT USE ABLE AIR. Remember. It is your house. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Day after they came out to "fix" the a/c it quit working again. Extremely rude technician said he would not come out to look at it unless I paid him $180 as if it were a completely new call. He copped an attitude and said he wouldn't come out if I wouldn't pay and then hung up on me. I was able to escalate it to a supervisor who had an attitude right off the bat and continuously interrupted and spoke over me as I was trying to explain the situation. Why go here when there are businesses out there who will actually be kind to you and value you? This is not the place. read more

Just wanted to hop on to say a big thank you to Able Air's team for two quick responses and fixes! Made my appointment for Thursday on 6/15 on 6/12. They called and canceled an hour before. Couldn't have them back till my next day off on Tuesday 6/20. Bill their salesman tried to cancel the appointment, because I was considering trying to keep the inside unit and he said he didn't want to waste my time. I explained if I need both that's okay. He looked at my system told me he would send out an estimate for both scenarios in two days. Called them Friday, no reply. Starting Monday I called them and him each day till Thursday. No reply. Just told me he was backed up and he would try to get it by Friday 6/30. No email, no returned call, no explanation. I called another company told them what I wanted. They gave me a quote over the phone. They"ll be here Tuesday to measure and Friday to install. I'm dumbfounded at how unprofessional they were. They did not care one bit. read more

Nice salespeople, nice installers, nice repair people. But the system they installed is an unreliable piece of crap! I called Able Aire to replace a 20 year old Goodman system that had a total of 3-4 service calls over it's lifetime. This pile of junk Able Aire installed had 3 bad thermostats, a cracked drain pan, a blower motor failure, and now...blowing hot air on the warmest day of the year. That's pretty pathetic for a year old system. The warranty covered the $300 part, but I had to pay for the service call. I am one step from calling another AC company to remove this year old p.o.s and install a real A/C read more

Safety and efficiency. Went through many scam companies and scam American Home-shield and Able Air got it done right the first time. Cancelled worthless AHS, (our air was out almost six weeks arguing with them and having them send over lying contractors) worth the money and the contract to take care of our air. Can't recommend them enough. Their empathy and getting the job done for us the fastest and most efficiently way possible. We were told by QUICK AC, by the owner that she has a new unit and it still doesn't make her home cooler than it is outside. Able air had already told us what was wrong, and Quick Air came and admitted it was broken and then lied to American Home Shield. Don't waste your time and money. Get ABLE AIR first. TERRIBLE! The leak was fixed, only where I told them where to look, that is, inside the Condo association's conduit box by the rooftop compressor. Male tech was polite and efficient, but gave constant excuses for the association, which owned and caused the leaks. Gave an estimate to repair of $1300, but I was invoiced $1430 (excessive prices). They promised to text a photo of the leak taken by the technician, but did NOT, even after many follow up calls. The office staff (several females) failed to return telephone calls. They charged $95 for prepaid maintenance that I did not order. When I requested the photo and a refund for the $95, they said my bill would then go up several hundred dollars. There is NO such "tricky dickey" supporting verbiage for that on the invoice. VERY NONSENSICALLY TRICKY AND SMART ASS RUDE! 6 years ago, I had a good experience with a different technician there. No smart ass "tricky dicky" billing or verbal stuff was involved. There were No excuses for the Condo association. read more

Been a customer for many years but unfortunately we are switching to a larger well know Brevard company with very good reviews.

My 89 year old mother called Able Air in Melbourne FL because she needed a new filter for her AC unit and she couldn't find one herself at ACE, Home Depot or Lowes. She has been a customer over 20 years. Able Air told her that there is a lot of new construction and they are busy installing new AC units. They may be able to get out there at the end of July and not to use it in the mean time. Really? This is how you treat your long time elderly customers? She is supposed to sit in a house in the 95 degree weather and suffer? I suggested she call Quality Comfort because they have always been good to us. Damian from QC showed up at her house at 7pm, replaced her filter and cleaned the AC. It was 88 degrees in her house! He was nice and kind and took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He charged a reasonable price and made a new customer for life. Able sucks if you ask me. That is no way to treat an elderly person. read more

I didn't call or use their services my neighbor did but they parked in my grass while servicing the neighbors ac. When I asked them to remove their truck from my grass the gentleman had a whole list of excuses for parking on my property instead of his customer's property. Can't believe a company does not advice their employees to better!! Rude!!! read more

Horrible experience. I have 3 yo unit and the compressor went. Of course you call them because of the age of the unit. I'm thinking the part is under warranty it will a quick fix and problem free. NO way. 1st service call which was 10 minutes is $95 which is not applied to next visit. Called the next day and was quoted $1079. I'm like for what? Response was the coolant is $70 a lb and up to 10 lbs. Can't you capture coolant? Response is its probably contaminated. BS answer. I trusted that the part was ordered and I believe they forgot. 9 days later part is in. Tech shows up and first thing said was this will be $1448. No way that is not what i was told originally. Called Adam and he called my husband a liar that no one would give that low of a price. This is unbelievable treatment for a return customer. Conversations are going back and forth with Tech and Adam, and they only used 8 lbs. of coolant instead of 10. So, he took 2 lbs. off the price @ $58 a lb. Again, not what were quoted. I wanted to see a breakdown of the price but its the RIP OFF package deal! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They can call me back or mail a refund check at a reasonable price and I may not put them on blast!!! read more

I periodically stay at a friend's second home in Melbourne. Got there one April and the thermostat was showing fault messages and there was no cool air. Able Air's sticker was on the unit so I called. The service rep looked it over and found the problem was a badly corroded outdoor thermos bottle looking affair (accumulator maybe?), and it had water in it. His concern was that if water got into the compressor, well not good. The house was unoccupied since my visit 5 months earlier in December, and I left the system on vacation hold at 84 degrees. He said that was a positive sign and then confirmed there was no damage. A part was ordered but would not arrive until after my visit. I coordinated with the absentee owner who in turn coordinated with the neighbor to be available to give them access to install the part. So in a nutshell, Able Air worked with a visitor in the absence of the owner, honored the parts and labor agreement, then worked with the neighbor to get the job done. Owner: happy....Visitor: Hero. read more

Wow! What a joke. Their sales guy Eric Brainard, had an attitude from the beginning and when I told him I didn't want third party labor insurance, he got mad and all but threw the bids at me and walked out! Maybe he's just a bad egg but that's not acceptable read more

We've used Able Air for over 15 years and have always had good service. We've had everything from emergency service in the evening, to regular maintenance during the week, to using them to install a completely new A/C unit and all new ductwork last year. Communications are good. Free estimates are provided on all new work, and final bills met those estimates. Very knowledgeable people every time they've been out to our home. With the huge project last year they did a quality job inside and out. They provided several options to choose from when purchasing the new unit, and prices were in line with other estimates. We've had several other companies comment on the great job they did securing the new ducts in the attic with sturdy straps, and they used the small space efficiently. Appreciate all the great work over the years! read more

My family owns several properties and have used Able air for 7 years! I had an issue with my ac and the tech came out and took a quick look and wrote up a 560$ cleaning. I noticed after he left my outside unit then kept turning on then off repeatedly. I call back and another tech comes. Nice guy, looks like he did a few things and basically agreed that I did need this cleaning. He fixed the work of other tech. Not one time did they take the cover off ac inside unit and look at it! Next morning I put an add out on Nextdoor app. Within mins at 6am I got a call from a neighbor who does ac as a one man business. He came promptly this morning and the first thing he did? He took off the cover which shown a giant block of ice and the coils. I called Able Air to get a refund. The manager was not only rude, but had no interest in speaking to me, he spoke over me when I tried explaining my frustrations. I was polite, and I called him out on what had happened but in a professional manner. I didn't get anywhere! I told him the homeowner will contact him. After my family spoke to said manager, he got a refund but was told they will never come back to my home again. Which I find also petty and unprofessional. So, I paid with my card yet he won't speak to me nor refund me directly. I'm just grateful I found a fair person to fix my issue for less than half of what they wanted me to pay and I'm thanking God that even though they are not refunding me directly, they are refunding my family which will give me the money. It seems like being a woman, I was discriminated and treated like I was "uneducated". I'm not sure that people realize that times are tough right now. I am a single mom and out of work due to COVID-19, 100$ is a weeks worth of groceries to me. Shame on you Able Air! You lost a loyal customer for good! read more

My second Viera Builders home with an Able Air system. The one time I had to call them they came out the next day and repaired our unit under warranty. The tech seemed knowledgeable. My only issue is they install these systems perfectly, but don't leave any information on how to use the thermostat, how to change it to heat or aux heat (or what the difference is), how to properly maintain your system, or how to change your filters. Had to google a manual (which I found on a local competitor's website). These are complicated, expensive systems, and someone at Able should be ABLE to create some sort of user's guide to leave with homeowners. Instead, an annual service plan is offered for sale, and is highly recommended. That made me a little nervous. Typically, Florida HVAC systems last about 7 years, but we're hoping to do the right thing and get 10. Let's close the deal, Able. Call me if you need help with this. read more

They installed a new A/C unit in my home two years ago. The service men were extremely nice and knowledgeable. Last year Karen called to set up an appointment for the complimentary yearly maintenance and one of the same nice and knowledgeable employees came out and serviced the A/C unit. I just received another call for this year 's maintenance from Karen. The price for the maintenance is $95.00, which is not a bad value, especially with the $75.00 coupon from YP.com. I rent a home in Palm Bay and my tenant called stating the AC was blowing warm air. She called Able Air and they requested authorization from me as owner to go to the property. After tech examined the issue he stated he needed to thaw the unit. After thawing the unit my tenant stated the air condition started running cool right away. He then calls me and tells me that I probably need a new air conditioner due to the age of the unit but, if he can fix it, it may cost around $900.00 dollars. He said it might need 8 to 9 Lbs. of coolant. After all is set and done I requested a discount and he charged me $815.00. My tenant stated that he never told her the cost and did not see him putting the coolant neither did he approached her to say "look I want you to see what I am doing" She asked for a bill and he did not give her one and till this day I have not received a bill from Able Air. My tenant feels that he did not advise her or showed her in good faith of what he was doing considering what he had to do and how expensive it was. We have used them in the past but I am very upset at the company. I will not use them again and plan to dispute the bill since I believe that I was over charged. read more

Just had Able Air perform an annual service/inspection. The Tech was very good, nice and knowledgeable. Wish I could say that for the telephone salesperson, they were nice but really miss lead me on the cost. Said it was $95.00, that was OK "considering they would replace the air filter". Well after it was done I checked, and same used filter, I called and was told they do not include the filter with the service. I would not have used them had I been told the truth. $95.00 was not worth "inspecting" the unit. I will not use them again, can't trust what the sales people tell you.
