They get you started with tasty lentil soup and bread. We ordered kabobs, Dolma (stuffed grape leaves and other vegetables) I'm normally not a fan of this dish but, this one, was delicious. It came with a Shank of lamb which was literally falling off the bone. The kabobs were juicy and filing. Drawbacks is the place is tiny and when your with a large crowd it can be a little hard. After seeing such beautiful fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fish on my nice walk down the Church Street open air market just off Edgeware Road, I turned north on Edgeware Road and stopped in Azmar Restaurant. There's a counter in the window that serves take-away and stairs leading up to a mezzanine seating area with lovely table service. The decor is simple but tasteful and I felt it might be a place where local businessmen might have a nice lunch or where you might take your family or a group of friends for dinner. And it, indeed was filled with locals--always a good sign. It's a step up, literally, from the street cafes. The menu is extensive. I ordered a lamb shwarma plate with salad and was unexpectedly pleased at the large portion of meat served. Thinking I'd eat half and take the rest, I found myself gobbling up the whole thing because it tasted so good. They brought some bright red pickled cabbage and peppers and a small bowl of very tasty bean soup before the meal was served and an enormous, round, hot bread with the meal. I ordered tea which came in the traditional small glass with a thoughtfully added sweet philo pastry on the side. I was stuffed! Total bill at lunch: £8. They wouldn't serve tap water, but that is the only fault I found with this otherwise delightful restaurant. The service was attentive, polite and swift. Recommended and would return.

Shout out for the incredibly clean and well appointed bathrooms. I love a place that pays attention to these kind of details. Food: My dinner date really loved the grilled bass. I found it flavorful but difficult to eat because of the bones. I'm not that good with fish to be frank. I'm super picky about falafel and this was probably a three star falafel experience for me but I'm giving it for overall. We also got the grilled halloumi which I thought was definitely a four-star experience. Five stars for their drink menu which features a lot of unusual beers and wine from places that you probably are not familiar with. And I loved their herbal tea selection. The stuff with rose hips is particularly recommend it. You really should check it out.

I mentioned this to our waiter, who didn't seem to acknowledge that I disliked my main course. I raised the issue with the manager who also didn't seem to care. I ended up eating my sides and not touching my main at all. When our waiter came to clear our plates away, he didn't seem to acknowledge that i had left my entire main course on my plate. I was surprised that an alternative wasn't offered and that i was charged full price for my meal despite not eating any of it. I'm sure some of the other main dishes are good, but the customer service is totally lacking. I really want to like this place, but i can't bring myself to visit again.

The staff have always looked after me (most obvs because I was like their weekly bringing a gang with me each time lol). Their food is lovely and shisha is BOOM. It's the only place where parting with my money is okay for the experience - considering how expensive one is in Central London. From Irn Bru to Skittles, they've got a crazy range of flavours and so expect this place to always be busy. The sooner you get here, the better. Oh and I went here for New Years since they held an event, I danced my socks off in the later hours at this but it was so packed, my granny self probably can't handle it anymore :D

I went there on Saturday afternoon for dinner. We had the lamb and the kofta tagines, the kofta was amazing, the lamb was ok but felt a little bit under seasoned. As sides we got the dolma and the calamari. The dolmas melted in your mouth and were pretty good (served warm as they should be). The calamari was a bit harder to chew so as a Greek person I would rate it ok but nothing great. The side sauce the starters came with was great though. After the food we decided to try the cocktails. I had the Guilty which tasted like alcoholic dessert, so right up my street, and I also tried the fireman, good for whiskey drinkers bit not really my cup of tea. In terms of atmosphere I think the restaurant tries to be more posh than it is but the massive screens with the football on everywhere you look are incongruous with the atmosphere they are trying to create. There is also a semi- outside area for shisha which feels more Moroccan but it was full of football fans and smoke. In general I think it's good enough but maybe not as authentic as it could have been and it could do with a few more authentic Moroccan dishes in the menu.

We were seated right away and they had heaters outside to me cozy! The waiter brought over menus immediately and when we ordered our food came so quickly. We also ordered the lamb and chicken kebabs which came with a spicy sauce that was spicy even for me! So good! Definitely a nice find and I could pack the hummus with me to bring back it is so good! You may order too much, but you won't mind, because all of it is beautifully prepared and presented with care. We nearly ordered a breakfast item for dinner and -- after hearing the details -- we changed our order but decided to come back for breakfast, which we did! We had the succulent moussaka, the hummus with lamb (wow wow wow, so tender!) fatoush salad (one of the best ever), vine leaves with meat. For breakfast, we had shaksouska, Spanish omelette, bread with halloumi, eggs and sausage, and Arabic coffee. I am looking forward to visiting this wonderful establishment again! The people who run the restaurant are all so kind and welcoming. Highly highly recommended!
