This place was right near where we were staying so we popped in and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, the atmosphere, and the service! We were seated right away and they had heaters outside to me cozy! The waiter brought over menus immediately and when we ordered our food came so quickly. The hummus was the best I have ever tasted with the softest pita bread! Yum!! I ate it too fast for photos! We also ordered the lamb and chicken kebabs which came with a spicy sauce that was spicy even for me! So good! Definitely a nice find and I could pack the hummus with me to bring back it is so good! The ambiance is opulent and welcoming. You feel like you are joining a festive celebration. The service is knowledgeable and encouraging. You may order too much, but you won't mind, because all of it is beautifully prepared and presented with care. We nearly ordered a breakfast item for dinner and -- after hearing the details -- we changed our order but decided to come back for breakfast, which we did! We had the succulent moussaka, the hummus with lamb (wow wow wow, so tender!) fatoush salad (one of the best ever), vine leaves with meat. For breakfast, we had shaksouska, Spanish omelette, bread with halloumi, eggs and sausage, and Arabic coffee. I am looking forward to visiting this wonderful establishment again! Well.... Staff is very nice and friendly. The fattoush salad is excellent, maybe a little too drenched but so good! The hummus is probably one of the best I've had in my life, very creamy and flavorful. The bread was meh, not so sure they make it there. The olives either came with the salad or hummus and was very good. So far - probably 4.5 stars. Ordered #72 Shrimp Briyani - I was told by the server that it was spicy. Coming from the states, this usually mean spicy hot. Well, it has had no flavor whatsoever and the rice was very limp with stale nuts - 7/10 for me on this dish. Probably closer to 4 but the shrimp was very big, almost lobster size and you get four of them. So, now I am a 4 star rating but when I presented the Yelp check-in offer of 25% off, they said I didn't spend the 100 minimum which is not stated anywhere! Whilst Yamal Alsham in Knightsbridge was decidedly average, this branch in Imperial Wharf is significantly better. Other than not immediately receiving guests into the restaurant, and forgetting to bring a drink we had ordered, the staff were on the whole attentive and gracious. The ingredients used in the food, from the vegetables in the salad, to the cooked potatoes, to the lentils with rice, to the caramelised onion, to the baked bread, were all convincingly fresh and freshly prepared. Amongst my favourite of their offerings are the humus dip and the sesame bread that is lightly fried in onion oil. The restaurant is also spacious and relaxing and the hot tea (with a choice of cardamon, mint or cinnamon spices) was a pleasant addition to the meal. Thus the culmination of the good food and the tasteful atmosphere certainly yields for an excellent dining experience. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from this spot, since it seemed to be in an office-type area. But the restaurant impressed from the moment I entered. It felt very luxurious and the staff were highly attentive. I was being treated to the tasting menu and it certainly felt like it was a feast! The falafel were out of this world, and we were brought more by the maitre d who seemed to enjoy our appreciation. The spicy potatoes and the dips were also fantastic. And the salad (which would normally get ignored on a table this full) was dressed perfectly; served with excellent spicy chilli peppers! I especially enjoyed the rice and lentils - and didn't think I'd have room for the dessert. But the baklava were so cute in mini shapes and I just couldn't resist! read more

Poor service, poor quality food, heated food, expensive! When 3 people spend over £150 for dinner they expect something memorable. The lamb biryani was at least two days old - I am an accomplished cook so I know the difference between freshly cooked and stale food. You ought to be ashamed of your food. read more

I really loved the atmosphere of this place. It reminded me of my recent trip to Istanbul, with reds walls, dim lighting, and colorful lamps. There was also an assortment of hookahs and chairs for lounging at the front. We got a quiet table and ordered mezzes to share. The aubergine, falafel, grape leaves, and spicy potatoes were delicious. I also loved the bread they brought to the table. We ordered these spinach pastries that weren't very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean restrooms. They also have a carry out deli on the outside as well. I'd come back! read more

Went there last night for some food and Shisa. Food was very delicious and the Shisa was one of the best we ever smoked. The service was fast and the staff was OK, but with some room for improvement. Was happy that they honored our discount voucher from yelp. After the dinner it is definitely worth going for a walk along Thames. read more

Went here through a KGB Deal, was not impressed at all, not treated like a valued customer at all, did not explain that a few things like the water, dessert choices were not part of the deal. This is a very very late review. This nice restaurant is located in the middle of the Imperial Wharf flats. My friends and I were renting out a flat just a few skips away from this restaurant and decided to try it out one day. The ambience of the restaurant is great and had a great and friendly staff. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly and the pricing was pretty fair. All in all if I ever visited again, I'd definitely come back! read more

Yamal is probably the best middle eastern restaurant in London. I'm including Edgware and the east end in this statement as well. As an American living here I feel like many places Americans would like are represented well on Yelp and this is no exception. Shisha here is excellent as well as the food. The staff are so friendly it really beggars belief but you will not be disappointed, the attention to detail is excellent. For a place like Imperial Wharf which seems to gain and lose restaurants and the like every few months, Yamal is a stalwart here and for good reason. read more

I used to frequent this place (the takeaway / cafe / deli section, not the restaurant) when I worked near Imperial Wharf. Their hot food was delicious and their desserts absolutely divine. They also did a value-for-money lunch time deal where you can fill up a lunch box for £5. I always had that, a soup, and a muffin for lunch. Shame my office moved. read more
