As a result, the visit took approximately twice as long as expected. Additionally, I was asked for clinical details (cholesterol, family history) prior to the CAC without explanation, which felt outside the scope of the imaging. Suggested improvements: * Proactively review and flag incomplete documentation prior to the appointment * Accept digital physician orders from established systems (e.g., Stanford portal) without requiring redundant paper copies or verbal confirmation * Limit or clearly explain non-essential patient questions These changes would significantly improve efficiency and patient experience.

My advice to people who can choose an imaging provider, avoid any of them that are owned by private equity. Simonmed was bought out by private equity in 2021. It shows. Reading other reviews, I'm not the only one that has had horrific interactions with your overseas call centers. Try as they might, the friendly folks working overnight across the globe, know nothing about where things are located. And the worst thing is that in my recent calls, I was "promised" that the x-ray services were available on a walk-in basis in two different locations. For the first one, they had the days wrong, and in fact, the private equity cash cow didn't deem in a big enough return to staff and x-ray tech for more than 8 hours a WEEK, and I was given the wrong days. The second call? The scheduler promised me that they took "walk in xrays 5 days a week," they were literally reading it off a website. After my first 2 hours driving debacle, I drove almost another 2 hours to find out that "they haven't had x-ray techs at this location for a long time." And was told to try another location next week. I was given the "local"number, but as it was for the other ones, that "LOCAL"number goes to India. Private equity has NO place in healthcare. This has been a painful disaster... I can imagine when I drive to the 3rd location on Monday, and other 2 hour round trip, I'll find out that they don't offer x-rays, either.

I only had to wait 20 minutes to get my Xray which was done by Oneill who was a delight throughout the process. I will only go back to the Los Gatos location when I need Xrays. Great service.

It would be helpful for them to provide a little more verbal guidance between transitions in the appointment and to check in occasionally if the wait is longer than expected. All that said, I'm more concerned with the imaging quality and evaluation being top notch -- which from what I can tell, it is. The office itself is older, but comfortable, and the customer service processes are not tech-forward or slick, but work well enough.

The owner of the business requested me to pay for procedure in full upfront (~$600!!!) as they didn't want to wait for insurance payment. Apparently, it happened that insurance didn't pay a penny for this procedure as it is not considered preventive and insurance representative advised me to talk to the service provider (Mirage Imaging) to remove one of the codes as it is not applicable (~$200). When I called to Mirage Imaging, they said that they always charged these two transaction codes for that procedure and won't make any changes. The owner said that they charged me in full to help payoff my deductible, what is really ridiculous! Hence, be cautious with this business!

The scan technicians have always been very respectful, appropriate, courteous, and gentle. They often utilize the facilities of other practitioners, but they are careful to ensure complete privacy. I do one scan annually and I find it to be quite affordable. I feel happy that thermography is an option for women who prefer not to have an annual mammogram. While mammograms offer different data points than thermograms, I do them less frequently since I am currently low risk. I like the freedom to care for my breast health in this way and appreciate the radiation-free monitoring that thermography provides. Owner, Sage, is so easy to talk with and very competent and personable. It's a win all around in my book!! I encourage every woman to care for your breast health and give them a try.
