She explained their vineyard and their wines. They have a large variety of wines for everyone's taste. I tasted the dry red wines. They were the Cabernet Franc, Cynthiana, and Leon Millot. The Cabernet Franc and the Leon Millot were my favorite so I bought a bottle of each. This is a must stop for wine lovers.

It was an exceptionally brilliant idea. The place has a phenomenal staff (especially Opie). They were welcoming, personable and knowledgeable. They had a deep experience with wines that helped guide the experienced wine drinkers and an empathetic approach to those (aka, me) who were clueless. I (ahm, the inexperienced) were never intimidated or given the snob treatment. However, my brother who knows his way around a bottle or two (or at least actively tries to fake it) was given the appropriate insights to what he was drinking. Across the ten of us, we tried multiple different wines and they were all well liked. Many made their way home as people had to take some bottles home. You can tell that I'm an amateur because the whole "flight of wines" thing was new to me. It was brilliant to sample many different varieties in what I would call shooters to the great disappointment of my brother. Yeah, I told you he acted like he knew what he was doing. They also gave us a brief tour of the beautiful grounds as well as a look "behind the scenes". I would really recommend visiting in the fall and maybe seeing things in action. The property has been in their family for four generations since the 1930s and was originally a tobacco farm. Really cool to see them preserving their property and family history and keeping NC agriculture thriving. His wife does all the graphics and designs and they are lovely. Just a really special family centered place. We are not big wine people actually but our favorite was the bottle rocket which was bubbly and citrusy. The atmosphere here is out of this world just such a beautiful view.
