My AC died about a month ago. Unfortunately it was not repairable (tried that and it didn't work)…read more I called 3 AC companies to get estimates for repair vs replacement. Ultimate Heating and Cooling was the most professional, took extra time to discuss changing some venting to improve airflow, and thoroughly looked over my existing furnace as well. The representative didn't try and talk me into a model that was overpriced, offered suggestions to try and prolong my existing furnace (ended up replacing that as well), and took time to go through my old house to examine all the vents and airflow. The gentlemen who did the work were fast and efficient - new furnace and AC in one day! All mess was cleaned up and the new system explained. The whole process was seamless. I would highly recommend this company.

Extremely disappointing experience, absolutely avoid!!! If…read moreyou want to be completely disrespected as a woman, spoken to in a deeply condescending manner, and treated as if you couldn't possibly understand basic technical issues, then this is the company for you. They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.

Jeff Elder, the owner, told me that day that he would get the inspection scheduled within the next few days. As of today, February 17, 2026, the inspection has not been scheduled. I've contacted Jeff via text and email messages numerous times since then. He has told me almost every time that getting the inspection scheduled was his priority. When I have asked him if the permit was pulled, the conversation stops. I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This company has a C+ rating with them and so they are not accredited. If you are considering getting a new HVAC system and are considering using Best CO HVAC, I would suggest only paying half of the invoice until you know the permit has been pulled and the system has passed inspection.

They've been maintaining my old system for 10 years, so I have a lot of confidence in them. Before the installation I had many detailed discussions with Phil, the owner, about the specs for the job and what specific equipment to install (there are lots of choices in this kind of system). Phil always listened to my concerns and explained everything very well; he is low-key and did not pressure me to buy anything in particular. One of the difficulties of the installation was that we did not have any specs for the old system and had to guess as what the capacity of the ground loop is. Installation was done on schedule, over a period of five days, by Aaron, Frank, and Zach, and they did very careful and neat work. The resulting collection of pipes and boxes is beautiful (if you like this kind of thing, and I do). I especially appreciate that they cleaned everything thoroughly when they finished. The new system is working much better than the old one, especially for cooling and for air flow.

With that in mind, the team at Sensible exceeded my expectations. I selected a mid-range, 2 stage heat, 2 stage AC, Bryant system; comparing other top-rated brands and their associated, local installers. The Sales Pro did more to earn my trust than the competition, and a Carrier brand looked/sounded good after weeks of product analysis on the web, talking to neighbors and friends...mulling it over. When installation day came, two professionals with extensive industry knowledge, decades of experience, standout courtesy and unusual attention to detail, installed/retrofitted the new Bryant system in our 23 year old home. The Ops Manager came himself to ensure a timely delivery during a hot summer -- hot for Denver at least. They ensured my very clean home stayed very clean and left the HVAC closet and plumbing in top shape. I am picky, fastidious, politely called "detail-oriented". Turns out these guys are equally picky. I researched for days before selecting the Bryant brand and Sensible. I feel fortunate. I hit the jackpot for HVAC professionals.

This is the second system we've installed with Mountain West Heat Pump. I really appreciate that the owner Derek comes out himeself to do a very thorough detailed analysis and heat load calculation for the home and also is very helpful in planning out the locations and types of units to install as if it was his home. He's very considerate to aesthetics and puts in the extra effort to make sure the system is installed in the most aesthetically pleasing way. They also did a great job getting our rebates processed for us. Our project was pretty challenging going through other construction, installing a brand new system (new refrigerant) with equipment that was difficult to get and Derek's teams are very busy installing a lot of systems, so scheduling was not easy and the install took more time than expected to complete, but no matter the challenge, Derek is high integrity guy, very professional and does what's needed to get the job done correctly. Zaine, Jared, and Sal did a great job with the install. They are very professional, care about the details and don't take shortcuts. It was a pleasure having them on-site working and I'm very happy with the outcome.

Brad Plunkett, the project manager, did a comprehensive mapping of my home's square footage that no other company even came close to doing. He spent time explaining the process and was even onsite the day of installation. The install team included 2 electricians and a team of 3 heat pump installers (thank you Henry, Matt and Ritchi!). Each person worked hard all day and they all worked in tandem to get the project done. At the completion of each project phase, the team lead explained what had been done and answered all my questions. I love the heat pump. I never had an air conditioner before and it is just amazing to walk into a cool house after spending hours being outside in 90+ weather. The system is quiet and produces a gentle flow of cool air. I feel confident I will also have a warm home in the winter - all without having to put solar panels on my roof. I have a Whole New System in the same space of my old furnace and I am now GAS FREE. Mountain West Heat Pumps administrative staff is friendly and very easy to work with. I highly recommend this company for its knowledge, expertise, friendly customer service and excellent communication. (720) 737-6720.

Cost me $130 for the inspection. The guy didn't really know what he was doing. I had to tell him to check the compressor. He'd only checked the capacitor and couldn't figure out why the condenser kept tripping the circuit breaker. It was the bad compressor that was drawing too much power. If I hadn't told him to check the compressor, I would have been out $130 and no closer to knowing what was wrong with my AC. Once WE had figured out what was wrong, he told me it would be $4900 to replace the compressor and immediately tried to steer me toward replacing the entire condenser. I got two quotes from them this week for condenser replacement. One was $8900 with a Trane unit and the other was $9050 with a Lenox unit. I ended up going with another company, which is charging me $2900 to just replace the compressor. That's $2000 less than the Lakeside H & AC quoted me for the same work. I did have to pay $120 for a second inspection but it was worth it. I might have been able to get my AC working again for even less money with another company but after being without AC for 10 days during a heat wave, I was ready to just get the work done. Here's some VERY important information about HVAC: Private equity firms are moving into this sector and driving prices through the roof. The bigger the company, the flashier their vans, the more likely they're owned by one of these firms and if you go with them you'll be paying WAY more than you have to. Again, shop around! Go with small companies or even a single guy with a beat-up, old van. You might even be able to find one that won't charge you for the inspection or at least charge you less. Chances are they'll do just as good a job if not better and they'll do it for A WHOLE LOT less.
