This weekend, the Aberdour Hotel was buzzing with activity. I was amazed, I was not expecting it to be that busy as I walked into its public bar for a drink. Tables were full of people eating away at their meals, and the bar was almost packed out. And then I learned that it was the annual gala week in the town, and that the hotel was very busy with the number of people staying and visiting the town.
However, apart from that, what about the hotel. Well, the bar seemed quite traditional in its set up apart from the large television screen which was being advertised for next season's football league games. The bar itself provided a good selection of drinks, including my personal favourite, Deuchers.
The staff were friendly, and were quite chatty as they filled me in with why the hotel was so busy. Seemed like it would be a perfectly okay place to stay the night.
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the station and across there road is the entrance to the local park and beach. read more
