Here's why:…read more -Same day appointment when I'm feeling crappy, super easy reminders via text -Offices everywhere including one in the lovely Castro -Nice office that doesn't feel like a germ farm + friendly reception who checks me in promptly -I was a few minutes early for my appointment and I was seen early. -Dr Schiessl himself came to get me and showed me to the room, where the appointment started. No waiting around where I struggle with whether it's appropriate for a 34-year old woman to be playing with the tongue depressors and assorted things in glass jars. -Appointment was quick, but it was just a cold so I was anxious to get checked out and back into bed anyway. I found Dr Schiessl very thorough and friendly and while speedy I didn't really feel rushed. He also gave me his email so I could contact him for an RX should I need one after a few days using the medications he suggested. -Efficient! In fact, for a 1pm appointment I was done, processed and paid by 1:09.

Not only is he a super diagnostician - he is also a truly caring person who makes sure to "get it right" and be there when you need him to see you. I, myself, have had several health care challenges, and he has helped me with all of them - referring me out to specialists, when needed - but also handling matters expertly himself, when needed. There is no way I can recommend him more highly - he is a terrific physician and a wonderful person, to boot. If you are looking for a PCP - look no further. Dr. Maech spoke of his East Coast upbringing and how he, like his father, decide to become a physician. He also spoke of his medical schooling and training. What impressed me the most, among other things, was his concern and personal involvement with those without medical coverage and/or access to prescription meds and/or a warm bed for the night Dr. Benjamin H. Maech lll is a Tier 1 caring physician and I feel blessed to refer to him as my Doctor.

So much so that I actually thought about leaving the service in 2020 and trying to find a regular PCP through referral. Dr. Burns changed my mind in one visit. It's amazing how the delivery of a message can change perspective. It's clear that Dr. Burns became a doctor for all the right reasons. He is thoughtful, considerate and patient. He went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I am so grateful that he was available for an appointment and that I was able to meet him. THIS is what healthcare should be like. He is up to speed on all of the health issues I've had and stays close to how I progress. He is a great listener, remembers information shared, and works with you on all the concerns while celebrating all the good stuff. I'm grateful for his responsiveness and he always helps me get in to see specialists quickly when required. Dr Katznelson was my intake doctor with my first appointment…read morewith transplant clinic after I found out my kidneys were going south and not turning back no matter what I tried to do with diet and e exercise. He had the best side manners when both my wife and I spoke to him about the transplant program. My transplant match exchange came through 2yrs later in 2016 and I've been 8yrs clear and doing well. There was an 18 month up and down period before stabilizing but since end of 2018, it's been been living on borrowed time. I was fortunate to have 3 or 4 friends volunteer to donate a kidney to me but all ended not the best candidates. On after transplant surgery and since that the pandemic, I have been lucky to have follow-up semi-annual video visits with Dr Katznelson on half the visits. He is always so positive at each visit. I just had brain surgery Tuesday and he stopby Thursday to see how I was doing and glad he did. It was a refresh for a very exhausting 2 days. I've known of Dr Katznelson since I found out I got sick and was put on transplant list. I've only ever met him once before in a video visit! He did remember me, it was nice when he first walked in, gave me a firm handshake and said "finally nice to meet you in person, we've only met virtually." So that made me feel nice when people actually remember you! He sat and gave me a lot of information I didn't have. He even confirmed some false information I was given a while back. So now that I have the real info, I'll be doing what I can with it. He was patient and answered all my questions. Great doctor! Highly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Michael Borah is one of the leading physicians in this field and he is your man! He is also a primary care physician at California Pacific Medical Center on the East Campus (2100 Webster). I was referred to Dr. Borah after I had experienced a whole chartful of problems (later, I learned it was acute anemia from my kidneys shutting down). He handled my care with immediate and safe attention to my ailment. Instead of a blood transfusion for my anemia, he personally injected me with Procrit every month until my condition improved. If you ever have a kidney problem or an urinary tract infection (UTI) for example, check with him. Dr. Borah has a very professional demeanor, but for some unknown reason, he reminds me of "Jack Benny" - the nuance, the stare????
