O-M-G!!! You will not believe what a disaster this place is...I bought a used Motor home and hired…read morea tow company to tow my RV to my regular mechanic. The owner of the tow truck said their shop worked on vehicles and suggested I just have it towed to their shop for repairs. I agreed to have them work on the motor-home. I told them: "Do whatever it takes to get it running right". They gave it a major tune-up...re-built the carburetor...replaced hoses and belts...$900 later I picked it up. I drove it about 2 miles and it died on the highway. I waited a few minutes and tried to re-start it. It re-started and I drove it about another 2 miles and it died again...(like it had run out of gas). I took it back to them. They discovered that they had pinched the fuel line when they re-installed the fuel tank. Next, I took it to a smog center to get it smogged for registration...IT FAILED SMOG. I took it back to the repair shop that had charged me hundreds of dollars for a "Major tune-up" and asked them how it could have failed. I again asked them to, "Do whatever it takes to fix the problem". They worked on it again, and after a few hundred more dollars, it finally passed smog. Next, my wife and family and I headed out on a camping trip. On the way there, the engine compartment caught fire. My family scurried out of the RV. I grabbed a fire extinguisher and got the fire out. All the engine wires have melted. After hundreds more dollars to get my family picked up from the side of the highway, and get the camper back to my town, I took the RV to a different repair shop. They told me the carburetor had leaked gas and that's probably what caused the fire. After spending another $1,500 to get the carburetor repaired and all the melted wiring replaced, I sued the original repair shop for their incompetence. The owner of Rio Vista Automotive & Towing lied in small claims court and said I had failed to get something repaired, that he had recommended I get repaired, and that his crappy mechanical work had nothing to do with the fire. I lost my case, and the court ordered me to pay a portion of the bill in monthly installments. The shop owner would not accept any responsibility for all the money he had charged me...for the worthless work he claimed to have performed on my vehicle...My best advice is...STAY AWAY FROM RIO VISTA AUTOMOTIVE & TOWING!!!

This one once charged me for a rebuilt transmission but, what they really did was go to the junk yard and buy a scrapped transmission, then clean it up and paint it and charge me $1600. The other place, a muffler shop further the same road did the same thing with a rebuilt motor job. I wouldn't let either of them work on my lawn mower.

The physical facility is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and very welcoming, with complimentary refreshments. I was treated like the most important person in the world, kept apprised of the status of my repairs, and the work was completed exactly when they predicted (unheard of in my prior experience with other repair facilities). They did a fabulous job on the repairs and my vehicle is beautiful again. And they went above and beyond, which I'll explain. Shortly after purchasing my vehicle in 2023, I picked up a rock chip to my hood. I bought the exact matching paint from the dealer and attempted to fix the chip myself. As careful as I thought I was being, I totally botched the job and it has absolutely driven me crazy that my beautiful brand new car, which I treat with kid gloves and is still perfect in every other respect, had this horrible patch job in a prominent location on the hood. I didn't realize it at the time I picked up my car, but the next morning while washing it, I was flabbergasted to see that my botched rock chip repair was completely gone...nowhere to be found on my hood. And there was no cosmetic damage to my hood that required any work. Somehow, though, they worked some incredible magic and my car now looks exactly like it did the day I drove it off the showroom floor. It was around 4:50. Dropped my car off 2/3 around the same time. I didn't want to be nuisance so I waited for my ride in the parking lot. They locked the doors and turned off all the lights at 4:50. I was invited to wait inside but didn't feel comfortable. Came back on 2/5 at 4:20 to pick up my car. Had I come in any later I wouldn't have been able to pick up my car.
