Let me preface this review by saying that I gave this establishment a 1 only because I can't…read morefigure out how to not even give a . I will also state that I know this is a first world problem and that it has to do with my drone (which at the end of the day is a toy). In early August 2025 my drone had a crash. There were some repairs that were going to need to be done and right before I shipped my drone to Florida for a repair I came across MXT in Westland. Very excited that I wouldn't have to send it out of state, I dropped the drone off. I paid initially for an assessment and was assured this fix would be no big deal and they should only need it for at max two weeks. I of course was very relieved thinking I'd have plenty of time this fall to fly it. Let me just say, I just received it through the mail yesterday, more than two months after I initially dropped it off. Two weeks and two months are two totally different amounts of time. If I would have been told two months from the start it would have been a totally different story. I was patient for the first couple weeks and gave the benefit of the doubt in every excuse/reason before I started inquiring for the status after not hearing anything. Once I started making contact to try and get updates, I was told they had just received the new shell and that they had been sent the wrong one. I was given excuse after excuse and reason after reason why it hadn't been completed yet. After being assured it was complete and being packaged for sending out, it was then that they realized a landing gear was partially broke. I was called and asked if I wanted that to be fixed. I reiterated at this point that I want the drone repaired and as close to brand new as they could get it. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem and should just be a couple extra days. Couple days go by and no word. I call and find out the guy who fixes the drones was gone out of town and when he gets back he will be fixing it. Another week or so goes by and supposedly that had been fixed now and the only issue was when it was getting packed up for shipping (mind you I never even gave them my address because I was going to be picking it up) they found another cracked area at the base of one of the arms. Again I was asked if I wanted that fixed or just leave it to which of course I reiterated again I want everything fixed. They were going to do that and then it would be sent. I proceeded to contact this business probably 8-10 more times with verbal phone contact to have been told it was shipped and I would be receiving the tracking info. Only problem, I never gave them my address like I said because I was going to be picking it up. Oddly enough if you can believe this, one of the times I called to ask again for the tracking info I was told it got returned because of insufficient address details. You think? That's because they didn't have a clue what my address was because they had never asked me for it. I think after as many attempts as I had made (after not having my drone for two months) to find out what was going on with my drone, the owner finally shipped it USPS and sent me a tracking receipt. Of course I was excited by this point knowing that I had been told that everything had been repaired and was as close to brand new as they could make it. I received the drone and opened it up to basically find that 1.) the landing gear never got replaced and 2.) the cracked piece by the arm that had been discovered and was going to be fixed never got fixed. I attempted to call MXT and to as kindly as I could figure out what was going on in the midst of my major disappointment. The fact that it never got fixed wasn't the owners fault, he "thought" the work got done. I let him know that wasn't acceptable and he continued to push the blame on "the drone repair guy." If you own a business and you are the one who accepts an item for repair and you have your business' name on it, you better hold your people that you farm these jobs out to accountable and should inspect every job to ensure it's completion and operation before it goes back to the owner. I'm no fool and wasn't born yesterday. I know the reason why they wanted to ship it to me was so I wasn't standing in their "store" when I discovered that after more than two months the drone was not repaired. If I would have driven down to Westland to pick this up to then figure out that I was being lied to all along the way, I would have been even more disappointed, so thank you for sparing me that experience. I probably should have trusted my gut from the moment I pulled into the parking lot of this establishment. I should have never let this go on for more than two months only two still now be left with a drone that isn't repaired. No one enjoys being dragged through the mud or put through the wringer. I didn't need to be lied to and didn't need this level of dishonesty and then to have been hung up on twice when I called to voice my frustratio

The screen began shaking, scrambling, and becoming unusable almost immediately after I left the store. The phone's back cover was also loose. I returned more than once, but the problem continued. I had been told there was "no warranty," but I was never told before paying that the replacement screen might work only intermittently. When I complained, I was told something along the lines ofllllthat sometimes these screens work and sometimes they do not. A no-warranty repair is not the same as paying $212 for a screen that appears defective immediately. Had the risk been clearly disclosed beforehand, I would not have authorized the repair. If the screen is compatible with my phone, the expectation if for it to operate correctly at least for 3 - 6 months. Leaving the store and before getting into my car and not working, is extremely disappointing especially after spending over 200.00.

This review is based only on my experience with Frank's repair. Be warned…read more I built a tube amplifier from a Mojotone kit and despite triple checking all assembly steps when I fired it up (unplugged) was created with very loud buzzing which increased in volume with increase in amp gain controls. After frustrating review of every assembly step and verification that there were no cold solder joints or bad grounds I gave up and decided to have trouble shooting done by a certified amp tech. Frank is an elderly gentleman who works out of a very poorly lit and cluttered small apartment. I should have known better but I was anxious to get my project up and running. Now Frank's terms are $100 minimum and repair work not to exceed $150 without owner permission. Seemed fair so I handed over $100. Six days later Fank advised the amp was repaired with a balance owed of $200. The rationale was that he spent six hours totally rewiring the amp at $50/hour. He never advised me that the repair would in fact exceed the $150 "not to exceed" stated in my order. Nor did I ever ask Frank to undo all of my work and re-wire it. All I requested was for him to troubleshoot it and correct the issue. He does not have an oscilloscope so another red flag that should have had me running for the hills. It's my belief that Frank could not diagnose the problem so he decided to re-wire the whole thing. A good amp tech should have been able to pinpoint the cause of the buzzing without going to the extreme of rewiring everything. When I arrived at his apartment to check out the repair I plugged in a guitar and immediately noted that the loud buzzing was gone but there was a very noticeable hum which got louder with increase in amp gain. Frank said "oh it wasn't doing that when I checked it out". I unplugged the guitar and hum remained. Frank implied it was normal and I should expect that at high gain with a vintage tube amp circuit. I question Frank about the $300 charge without my consent and he said because he has sent me a text with a picture of the work in progress that should have sufficed as my approval since I did not say stop. I paid him the additional $200 thinking that the hum was perhaps environmental electro magnetic interference. I got the amp chassis home and installed it in the cabinet but the objectionable hum did not go away. I contact Monotone tech support and they advised that a properly built kit is dead quiet except for maybe some tube hiss at max gain settings. Frank's paperwork stated that the repair had a thirty day warranty. When I called him out on this he refused to do any further work on my amp and he said the he got it working and he was not about to but any more unpaid repair time in it. He said "you gave me an amp that had no output, it works now and hum was not the issue. It's your project, welcome to the world of electronics. Figure it out buddy" I decided to troubleshoot the hum. I discovered a cold solder joint connected to pre-amp tube V1 and that Frank had mis-wired the center tap from the power transformer. I removed that wire from the wrong location on the circuit board and soldered it in its correct location. Hum gone. Amp dead quiet even at max gain settings. I highly recommend that you think twice about using Ann Arbor Amplifier for amp repair.

He loved it but suddenly it stopped working. What to do? Shipping is expensive and hazardous. I found Bartsonics on Craigslist a few blocks from the customer. A local to check it out, perfect! The customer had told me that the only repair place there quoted him a six month wait to even look at the amp. He didn't know about Bartsonics. The next day, yes, the next day, not six months later, Bartsonics had checked the unit out and a verdict was in. The amp was perfect. No issues at all. The customer was the issue. That solved it for me. If not for Bartsonics I was on the hook for everything, big return shipping, whatever, it was on me. As it was, I was in the clear. They saved me. Thank you Bartsonics.
