Appliances have visible grime and old residue on them, and the overall condition of the place is appalling. It does not give the impression of a clean or professionally maintained business. The atmosphere is just as unpleasant. The interactions I experienced were unprofessional, disrespectful, and uncomfortable. As a woman, I did not feel welcome in this environment. Women, especially those visiting alone, should use their judgment before going here. Customers deserve basic respect and a business environment where they feel comfortable. This company definitely sold me a bad refrigerator or it was damaged in transit to me. The owner or employee (whatever he is) Germaine is very unprofessional. Tried to sale me another broken refrigerator for $200 and that was not acceptable to me. There is absolutely nothing me or my 5 year old daughter could have done to make a refrigerator completely malfunction. It was broken when it was sold to me. They told me my power could have went out, but that is not what caused the refrigerator issue. The DTE Repair Tech stated the compressor is bad and 9 times out of 10 it is due to the refrigerator being laid down during transit to my home. My power has never surged in the last 5 months. I would know because I work from home. Overall HORRIBLE experience. I always try and support small businesses, especially when they are black owned. This just left a bad taste in my mouth. I HIGHLY recommend having someone inspect your refrigerator, if you are going to purchase from them. They sold this to a young black single mom and now I can barely feed my child due to not having a refrigerator, YET AGAIN. It was obviously an error in the Home Advisor system, since I only sent one inquiry one company. I gave Appliances Center all the information I had and the contract information for the other contractor, hoping to resolve the confusion. I called Home Advisor and got no answers. In the end I hired the company I first contacted and asked for my deposit back from Appliances Center. At first I was told they would return it, but now they are ignoring my calls. Do not believe they give free estimates and care about seniors and give senior discounts. They took my money and ran! An open letter to American Dix Appliance Service…read more Yesterday one of your employees came to my home to repair my dryer and my refrigerator.  For the second time this employee made comments about overloading the dryer, which we do not do, when the part he installed 3 weeks prior failed. And then pulled out the refrigerator an proclaimed in front of my 78 yo mother and my kids that it was "filthy"! First of all shame on you, you have no idea what people are going through.  I cleaned the back of the refrigerator 6 months ago and if it was "filthy" as you say that means when you were out prior to this visit you didn't do your job of looking for the problem on the backside of the refrigerator. Secondly let me inform you, actually I told you last month when the dryer had the same problem my husband had a debilitating disease and I had been taking care of him and apologized the house wasn't up to par. And I also made mention my husband passed mid June. What you don't know about is the debilitating depression and anxiety I've been thru watching my husband die a slow death. Being afraid to run the vacuum for fear of not hearing him call out. Just tossing things in another room so no one else suspects your having depression and anxiety because God knows you can't look like you don't have it together. Feeling the guilt of not having a clean house and apologizing to every person that walks into you space. I would rather buy a new appliance then have you step foot back in my "Filthy" home. Unfortunately, the service was incomplete, the follow-up was poor, and the issue remains unresolved. I would not recommend this technician or service to anyone and will not use them again.
