Paul's Marble Depot

Paul's Marble Depot

(4 reviews)

Believe the online reviews on Google. Sunny Adalja and Paul Adalja consistently exhibited a lack of…read morerespect, a lack of accountability, and a lack of transparency - in short, a complete lack of integrity. Avoid Paul's Marble Depot at all costs if you value your time and peace of mind. We were referred to Paul's Marble Depot by an architect who said they carried Dekton. We ordered the Dekton on March 30, 2022. The material arrived at Paul's Marble Depot the first week of April, 2022. We said that we'd be ready for countertops and backsplash to be installed around mid-November, 2022. We were in fact ready and asked for the countertops to be installed November 14. The countertops were installed December 1, a week later than Sunny said he would install them - he just didn't show up or communicate where his team was in the process of fabricating the countertops. We still - as of January 12, 2023 - do not have an intact kitchen island. It was installed as a piece that was broken, which Sunny and Paul glued back together and tried to pass off as whole. Paul was supposed to have ordered a replacement slab last week; he said it arrived Monday and it would be fabricated and then installed today, Thursday. It is 7:07 pm and he has not emailed, texted or called us. In April, as we were refining our design, Sunny had boasted that he was highly experienced using Bocci outlets. He told us to get double outlets, horizontal, not diagonal or vertical. I ordered the outlets per his specifications and coordinated calls between him and our electrician, which occurred in April and May. Yet in December, Sunny betrayed to us that he didn't know how to do double outlets in Dekton. When we discussed electrical outlets in April and May, he gave one measurement of 6 mm for the backsplash. When the countertops were installed, he had his crew measure for the backsplash but neither he nor Paul was not present during the measurements, and the measurements were taken with templates, not a laser. We asked his crew to ascertain the accuracy of the outlet positioning at the time of making templates. They confirmed the outlets were installed correctly. But, after he tried to install the backsplashes, Sunny announced the first installation would not work. Removing one of the backsplashes, he broke it. He blamed the breakage on his team's fabrication work. He said that backsplashes as fabricated wouldn't work because the outlets were not installed correctly even though they were installed per his specific directions to us and our electrician. At 6:30 on a Friday evening, pitch black outside, he promised to contact his electrician whom he reassured us had installed Bocci outlets many times. He said his electrician would call us. He stated that the depth of the outlets had to be 1/2 inch as opposed to 6 mm, which had been measurement he originally gave us and continued to give us up through the point he and his crew broke one of the backsplashes. Neither Sunny nor his electrician ever called us after that. We never heard from his electrician and we never heard from Sunny ever again. Sunny was consistently rude, impatient, disrespectful, and unaccountable. His communications with us were curt and he blamed others for problems he should have prevented from occurring in the first place. At times the information he gave was incorrect. He did not show up when he said he would, by a whole week, and this happened twice. We were effectively without a sink or countertops for over a month. When they came two weeks later to install the countertop and backsplash, they broke the original one-piece backsplash. Sunny blamed the breakage on his installation team. It was replaced by a backsplash in two pieces two weeks later. We discovered after the island countertop was installed at 6:30 pm in the pitch dark, that Sunny installed a slab that had been broken off at one end, at a 30-degree angle. He apparently had tried to glue it together. Once it was bright daylight, we noticed the corner had been cracked all the way through. We asked them to make it right. Sunny completely ignored our emails and calls. We then reached out to Paul who has a much nicer interpersonal style and who took responsibility for the broken island countertop. Paul never returned with an intact slab to remedy their attempt to pass off a broken piece of Dekton as intact.

horrible customer service. no follow through on promises, over and over. would not trust anything…read morethat Sunny says to you.

Paramount Stone - Beautiful vanity, unfortunately quartz is horrible

Paramount Stone

Horrible experience. We have 2 brand new vanities and went to Paramount stone to get quartz…read morecountertops. We had three samples from the manufacturer as well as looking at the photos from the manufacturer website and decided on the Hanstone Coast product, manufactured by Hyundai L & C, headquarters in Georgia. After having the measurements done, Paramount came to install the quartz. At first I thought the numerous black marks on the surface were smudge from the workers hands. After trying to wash it off with soap and water, we realized that it was an inherent smudge in the product we received. Paramount would have nothing to say. I called Kaylee, customer care for the manufacturer in Georgia who told me it was a defect in the manufacturing of the slab of quartz that was sent. She told me that all Paramount had to do was send in a form and Hyundai would send a new slab for free. Paramount never offered to do this. I found out that the industry standard for the fabricator(Paramount) is to have the customer come in to check the slab prior to fabricating it. This is important because there might be a hole for a sink that needs to be cut out and the customer may want to tell the fabricator what part of the slab should be cut for their countertop. As the photos show(although seeing in person is even worse), the black smudges are a definite eyesore. No reasonable customer or fabricator would have accepted this. The owner never came to look at the finished product in person. Instead he had one of his workers come and take a picture, as well as the person who did the initial measurements. Despite the manufacturer Hyundai L & C offering to send a free new slab for us Paramount never cooperated with Hyundai. Paramount never took the time or interest to fill out a form. Then wanted to charge us over $2,000 to remove the two defective countertops (each 23"x55") and install the new ones. The original installation took less than two hours. Plus they already had the exact measurements to do the fabrication. Also, there would be extra material for them to sell as a remnant for another customer. In addition, Paramount said they would not be responsible for any damage to our new custom made vanities. Fortunately, we have found another stone fabricator to complete our project. Our general contractor was able to have his two workers remove the two countertops without doing any damage in less than 90 minutes, including putting down protective paddings on the floor and cleaning up. Our contractor, who does a lot of remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms was appalled at the way this was handled by Paramount and said he will never give them business again. Look elsewhere to avoid having the same experience we had.

Thank you to Paramount Stone for making my fireplace dreams come true. I will definitely use them again for any marble or stone work I want to do. I LOVE what they created for me.
