Excellent Prices and Outstanding Service at PARR Lumber I…read morehave been purchasing materials from PARR Lumber for the past 20 years for various projects around my home. My most recent purchases included composite decking, as well as pressure-treated lumber for a deck project. One thing I have noticed over the years is that many homeowners with larger projects may not realize how competitive PARR Lumber's prices can be compared with the big-box home improvement stores. For example, on my recent purchase: * 2x8x16' pressure-treated lumber: Box store -- $35.48 vs. PARR Lumber -- $32.88 * 2x6x16' pressure-treated lumber: Box store -- $26.28 vs. PARR Lumber -- $23.83 I found similar savings when purchasing composite decking. Price, however, is only part of the reason I am changing where I purchase my lumber. In the past, I have made several large lumber purchases from big-box stores and had the materials pulled by their employees. When I arrived to pick up my order, I frequently had to wait 45 minutes to over an hour in the loading area. I was often told at the front desk that someone would be out to load my materials in about 15 minutes. More often than not, I eventually had to call the front desk from my truck to find out when someone would be coming. My last two experiences at PARR Lumber in Hillsboro were completely different. For my most recent order, I called ahead and had my materials placed in Will Call. When I arrived, I paid for my order and then proceeded to the loading area. There were at least four vehicles ahead of me waiting to enter the yard, yet I waited only about 10 minutes before entering. Once inside, I immediately noticed how efficiently the yard personnel were working to pull and load materials. When it was my turn, I explained to the employee pulling my order that the lumber was going to be used for deck joists and that I needed relatively straight boards. He told me he would bring the materials out and that we could sort through them together. The majority of the lumber he brought out was good quality, so very little sorting was necessary. I was especially impressed with his professionalism, courtesy, and genuine willingness to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. Overall, I have noticed significant improvements in efficiency and customer service at the Hillsboro PARR Lumber. My recent experiences have changed my opinion about where to purchase lumber for larger projects. I am now choosing PARR Lumber over the big-box stores for my lumber purchases. The competitive pricing, quality of the materials, and--just as importantly--the efficiency and customer service make PARR Lumber a much better choice for my projects. Highly recommended!

We initially wanted granite kitchen counter, but they had only few options to choose from, Victoria, sales lady who helped us to decided with lighter color quartz. Couple days later gentle man came and measured our counter top, and 2 weeks later 3 gentlemen came and work half day to dismental and put new counter, sink and back splash for stove and walls. They cut some stones in their van and they are respectful professional and didn't leave any mess.we were very pleased with their work. They installed the counter very quickly and finish product looks awesome. We are especially pleased with new stove back splash! These quartz are not brand name and they are 20mm thick and not high end product, but they are nice color with beautiful patterns. They installed 10 mm plywood under the quartz counters. We think they make up thickness and counter top stronger. New sink was beautiful. We are very glad that we went to them, their price fitted with our budget and it was very reasonable price. We definitely will use them again for sure. We didn't give 5 stars because new counter was done less than 2months ago.

However, I was surprised to see the Linoleum pattern running different directions in each bathroom. I emailed the Sales Manager regarding my concern and sent photos of the work done. I received a follow up response below: Hello Jerry, Thank you for reaching out and giving us feedback on your flooring installation. Per industry standard and also the best and more economical way of installing your vinyl was running the pattern the same direction, which is what we did, running the pattern front to back vs both being ran differently. This was part of the sign off that was done when the signing was completed. Having said that, I would like to still give you some discount and the best I can offer you is $50 off the balance. We felt like we won the lottery with the much higher quality in the clearance tile that ended up costing us about a fourth of our original choice. She also searched for options to meet our color scheme and found a set that matched when we thought there wasn't an option that met the specific pieces we were looking for.
