Each time we stay in Waikiki we always come to this ABC store for their deli breakfast and daily specials. We first found out that ABC has a deli section when we rated at Grand Wailea on Maui and were hunting for reasonable meal options. Tried the Corned Beef Hash Moco ($7.99) for the first time and was hooked ever since. We also enjoy their New York Steak ($9.99). This location (under the imperial resort on Lewers) is the biggest most accommodating abc in Waikiki. It has everything from the normal abc stuff to a full service deli including hot food such as fried chicken etc. Way beyond musubi and hot dogs. Reasonably priced as well! It's like a 7-11 but better.....They have it all if you forgot something. Price- well they are close to you everywhere.....so yes pricey but they will have what need including a deli! and we tried a few items and they were decent Poke and Fried Chicken! ABC stores are basically your one-stop general stores on practically every corner of Hawaii. My wife and I probably stopped at about a half dozen of these places on our weeklong vacation. They're all different sizes, and naturally some of the bigger locations have more in terms of supplies and souvenirs than some of the smaller stores. This particular location had a pretty nifty beer and wine selection that I hadn't noticed at some of the other locations. It seems like they were trying to market to the people who didn't want to buy the overpriced alcohol at the myriad of nearby hotels. read more

Love the ABC Stores! As is commonly known, the ABC stores are everywhere in Honolulu. This one in particular had the items I needed on my trip. Skincare essentials in the hot Hawaiian sun including lip balm, sunscreen, and water. I have such a soft spot for this popular chain of shops in Hawaii. They literally have everything you'd ever think of needing wanting buying ... from subsidies to cardigan gifts stuff to wear, eg. I forgot to pack my tank top and my husband forgot his swimming trunks, and of we go. Mosquito repellents, and drinks and snacks. There's one of these on every block--no exaggeration, and did great reason. The prices are more than reasonable. read more

This ABC is located in the Imperial Resort on Lewers. It just went under major renovations. It took over the space formerly know as the Cellar or Jazz Cellar (for you older folk). Along with your normal sundry items and touristy stuff, they now have a deli that sell sandwiches. They also have hot items, such as fried chicken, burgers, bentos and hot dogs. Its expensive, but what isn't in Waikiki. Seems like one of the biggest and best ABCs in Waikiki. read more

My wife and I ordered food. I ordered the special and was told that I get 2 scoops of rice and one side. I was later today that it can with mash potatoes. I told her that I was unable to eat potatoes and asked for rice instead. (Also the little potatoes left did not look to appetising.) I was told I couldn't change and it had to be mash potatoes. After a second try, I cancel the whole order which the cook was pleased as she started on my wife's order. I guess that this ABC store doesn't need my 30 dollars so I spent it where it was wanted. Hawaii has an unbelievable number of these convenient ABC stores all around Waikiki. The times we went in, the store was always bustling with activity and they generally had exactly what we needed. They are sort of like the CVS or Walgreens stores stateside but without the pharmacy. They have all sorts of knick-knacks, cigarettes, hard liquor, beer, wine, beach stuff (t-shirts, sun tan lotion, inflatables, cover-ups, etc.), energy drinks, water, a limited selection of fresh food to go, and a small little grocery department. So pretty much anything you need while vacationing you can find here. This store on Lewers was really nice. The store was clean and well-stocked, the employees were friendly. read more

We visited about 6 different ABC stores to pick up things we needed and a few souvenirs for family and friends, our son Matt likes to cook with interesting herbs and spices, we got him a 3 pack of different salts black salt from Hawaii and 2 others from Hawaii that I cannot 'member, my wife got her some plumeria hairclips to keep hair from blowing across her face...and a few headbands for the same purpose. This ABC Store location is an ESPECIALLY large one with a huge selection of foods, snacks, knick knacks, clothes, souvenirs, and freshly made deli sandwiches and even pizza! While there literally seems to be an ABC almost on every block in central Waikiki, this one stood out as one that beckons you to browse just for the heck of it! (P.S. Ok I LOVE ABC stores. Especially getting a multi use bag after spending a certain amount. The sushi is superb for this type of store and always fresh, the stores truly have everything--from shampoo to chocolate covered macadamia nuts, tee shirts, other souvenirs and the pre-made Mai Tai in a small bottle (for 1) is out of this world. Staff seem really happy any hour of day, if there's a new product they're keen to tell you, and check out is quick and easy no matter how long a line looks or how many people are in a store. read more

Not all abc store locations are as good as the one on lewers street nearest to halekulani. It's located in the driveway of a hotel across the street from the Embassy Suites. This place is where to buy breakfast lunch and or dinner: Must try: Spinach and ham burrito with hash browns (tiny cut up pieces of potato, well seasoned) - $8.99 Ham and cheese omelette with white rice - $6 Somen salad Musubi (salmon and sea kelp and plum) our abc must every time. I cannot express how amazing this staff is. I went on vacation 2 years ago and my boyfriend at the time bought me the cutest little turtle necklace. I wore it almost every day since I got it.. but then one night I took it off to go swimming and couldn't find it. I was soooo upset! I called the store because I wanted a very specific color for the necklace (so that it matched the previous one I had) and the lady one the phone went OUT OF HER WAY to contact another store to get the exact necklace that I wanted and then shipped it out to me herself. I cried when I got it in the mail last night! You have no idea how kind this woman was to me on the phone as I described the necklace to her. She called the other store, as promised, and called me back a few days later to get my address. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This store and it's entire staff are amazing!! This is one of the best stores in the massive swarm of ABC stores in Waikiki. The beer selection was top notch and the price was not cheap but much, much better than anywhere else. They had 22 ounce bombers from Coronado Brewing, Mission Brewing, Stone Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Belching Beaver and so many more. I grabbed one on every trip from the hotel to the beach, and again on the way back. The spam masubi on the cheap was the perfect snack on the go. The spirits and wine selection is also very impressive in size, variety and quality. If are in the area and need to hit an ABC store this one is worth seeking out. read more

First sight, this ABC store looks amazing. I looked at the prices I was like damn... I'm not a frugal person but I know what things cost and when I'm being hustled. I was really iffy shopping here. The gift shop for touristy stuff is not badly priced and there are sales. The liquor and food is another story. WAY overpriced. For an individual Chobani yogurt about $3.99 EACH. Normal grocery stores $1.50-$1.99. A gallon of Crystal Geyser water $5. A normal grocery store $1.50-$2... Ya the hustle... Anyway, there's also a deli too. In the evening, the leftover prepared food (teriyaki bentos Musubi) is discounted about 20%. If you have a car, I would go to the Walmart a couple miles down the way to buy basic groceries. read more

I wouldn't normally write a review for a convenience store, but this one's special. Here they have a self-serve dole whip machine near the back of the store. Whenever I go on a trip to the Mainland and tell people that I'm from Hawaii, just about one out of every three people I meet will say "Oooo I love those ABC stores!" And I of course think to myself "WTF?!" We've got 80 degree year round weather, amazing beaches, wonderful people and the first thing you can think of is the ABC store? Ummmm okay. But when you're in Waikiki for a vacation, staycation, a meal or a day at the beach, inevitably you will be forced to go to an ABC store. They're like Gremlins. It rained in Waikiki and now they're everywhere! On practically every block you walk down you'll find an ABC store where you'll be able to fill your little blue basket with sundries and souvenirs. I will admit I've been to my fair share of ABCs and at this particular store I had the best customer service. It was 11:30 pm at night and I wanted to grab some bottled water, sodas and snacks. While perusing the beverage section a nice ABC worker asked me if I'd like a basket and he was most helpful. You just don't expect that at 11:30 pm at night. People who work the night shift at most stores are cranky as heck. I know I was for sure! I headed to pay for my items at the cashier stand and the women working were so nice! Dare I say they were energetic and enthusiastic about their jobs? How can this be?! Am I on punked and is Ashton Kutcher going to jump out from behind that stack of chocolate macadamia nut candies? So this trip to the ABC store was literally just for a parking validation for the Royal Hawaiian parking garage. (I'm being honest.) We got here around 10:30 and the place was packed! Not really surprising because when other places are closing, the ABC store is packed with tourists just trying to get a reasonably priced sandwich and drink after getting dropped off from the luau. For a store in Waikiki, they aren't that expensive compared to 7-11 when it comes to food and drinks. This place is a great one stop shop for tourists when you think about it. Food, drinks, souvenirs? Wow! No need to waste time shopping and you can spend more time checking out all the beauty Hawaii has to offer! Customer service in this store is on point. There are people constantly stocking the shelves as fast as they can. There was a clerk making sure that the cold food was being fronted and not expired. All the cashiers were at the registers. We took our purchases up to the cashier and presented our parking ticket. Our friendly cashier informed us that we needed to have a minimum purchase of $10. (Our two coffee drinks were only $5.) We grabbed an insulated bag that was on special, and that tipped us over! Yay! I honestly don't know if I will be back. I'm not often in Waikiki, but if I do need a validation for the Royal Hawaiian, I know where I will go to first! read more

We're not sure what ABC stands for or if it's an acronym at all. In the area I grew up, ABC stood for "Alcohol Beverage Control" and its a government controlled liquor store. In Honolulu, we'd guess it stands for "Awesome, Bountiful, and Cheap!" because this place has it all for great prices. This store was a lifesaver. Despite being so convenient and located in one of the most expensive streets we've ever visited, ABC has a huge selection for very fair prices. We searched the island and only found one place with a cheaper six pack (only a dollar at that). Dole Whip is cheaper than at the plantation. Food is inexpensive (they have hot dogs for less than $2 - we didn't get one though). Coffee is better than Starbucks and half the price. Souvenirs are cheaper than most shops and are a quarter of the listed price at airline stores. They have some great promotions too. We almost completed our free coffee card (only one punch away). We shopped here thirteen times and spent almost exactly $100 (this included adult beverages, snacks, toiletries, and gifts for coworkers/family). We know the exact amount, because you get free gifts if you spend a certain amount of money (we picked up a luau coffee cup). Add all of this up and combine it with some extremely friendly employees to earn five solid stars. Keep up the amazing work! read more

Bought their $30 beach umbrella and crossed the street to beach. Fifteen minutes after I set it up, the wind literally bent it in half, making it completely unusable. Crossed back to store, thinking they probably wouldn't want to refund me, but maybe they'd give me store credit, or, at the very least, replace the very obviously broken umbrella. They, rather rudely, refused all options. So, if you want, buy the simple things -- drinks, snacks -- but don't bother buying anything on the higher end, as its quality will be next to trash. read more

This ABC store is the best of the BEST! From the clothing to the memorabilia. To the Omiyage gifts from Hawaii to the endless alcohol drinks. The deli they have is Awesomeness for sure. From sushi to Poke to fresh LOCAL food! The fried chicken they have is totally ONO! I work right there & in there about 10 times a day! I see ALL the tourist in there from the time they open til the store closes ALL the local Hotel workers around spend a lot of time there not to mention ALL the construction workers. Everyone goes there to get their LOCAL plate lunches! From pork adobo to shoyu chicken to prime rib to fries rice & the best one...GOTEBERG MUSUBI. The Employees there are on too of it too! Like everyone says. There is an ABC store everywhere in Waikiki. Even our bus guide on our way to a luau made a joke that they are everywhere, more than Starbucks or 7-11's. This is the ultimate convenience store. Snacks, souvenirs, alcohol, magazines, toiletries are just a few things you can find there. I myself was a frequent shopper there because I had this nagging cough. The funny thing is that they had the cough drops in the candy aisle. I had the darnest time finding the cough drops until I asked for help. Unfortunately, they had only the roll of cough drops not the bags. So I bought a bunch of rolls. For the week, I probably had at least 15 rolls of cough drops. Nothing is sexier that kissing someone with menthol breath. They also give you gifts if you spend enough money during the week. So hold on to your receipts especially if you make some big purchases at the ABC store. I think for a hundred bucks you get a calendar or a mug. I didn't spend enough at the store for the week to get any gifts but that is okay. I didn't need a calendar or another mug anyways. Doesn't mean that it still isn't cool that they have something for free to anyone who spends some serious cash there. read more
