My doctor sent a referral and I immediately received a call to schedule an appointment. She had an availability in a few days. Why not...so booked it. I had so many reservations and concerns about how this was all going to work. Would I be able to fall asleep in a strange bed quickly was my main concern. All of my concerns were met with patience and assurance. Oscar was my technician. We started out with a survey and he explained everything that was going to happen. Then the hook up. Wires and wires and wires. All along the way, he told me what to expect and we did a test run on the sleep apnea test machine. All hooked up, I climbed on to the bed. It was a very comfortable sleep number bed. I have one at home so that felt reassuring. Dialed up the number, tried to get comfortable, and fell asleep within a few short minutes. There were several times during the night that Oscar came in to check on the connections. I was surprised that I easier fell back asleep. They need 5-6 hours of data. I would recommend booking an early appointment (my was for 10:30) because it does take some time for the intake interview and hook ups. You can then decompress by watching tv, reading, or whatever else you do before retiring for the evening. I will tell you that I don't think I slept as well as if I were at home and trying to find a comfortable position was awkward. But Oscar (yes, worth repeating) did an excellent job in getting me through the night. I called this morning and requested a copy for myself (besides the one being sent to the doctor). No problem, it will be emailed to me.

I slept 2 hours longer than I do normally, the bed was so comfortable and I was going on very little sleep from the 2 prior nights and felt better the next day than I have in ages! Fortunately I do not have sleep apnea, but will buying a new mattress and pillows, and will be following the instructions I had prior to coming in on an ongoing basis from this point forward! Dr. Williams was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, gentle, and made me feel like I was truly being heard and cared for. Every interaction with her gave me reassurance during a difficult moment. I also want to recognize the phlebotomist who took my blood. She was incredibly gentle, patient, and kind. From her, to the nurses, to the intake and ER staff, every person I encountered treated me with such care and respect. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had an experience at a hospital where I felt like the people caring for me genuinely cared about me as a person, not just my symptoms. Thank you to the entire Monterey Park Hospital team for showing compassion, patience, gentleness, and empathy. My grandmother was initially taken to their emergency department for an infection. During that visit, the physician was specifically informed that she was already taking a stronger antibiotic that had been prescribed by her primary care doctor. Despite this, our concerns about the severity of her infection were dismissed, and she was discharged with a lower-dose antibiotic. Less than 12 hours later, her condition had worsened enough that she had to return to the emergency room and was subsequently hospitalized. Unfortunately, our experience did not improve once she was admitted. The level of attentiveness, communication, and overall quality of care was deeply concerning. At one point, a staff member said to me, "Oh, I'm glad you're here, she gets up." The words themselves were not necessarily what upset me. It was the irritated and dismissive manner in which they were said, as though my grandmother's basic care and mobility had become an inconvenience. The following day, the day nurse did little to restore our confidence. She appeared overwhelmed, flustered, and uncertain while carrying out her responsibilities. As a family member watching an elderly patient already struggling with an infection, it was incredibly unsettling to feel as though we could not rely on the staff caring for her. I am writing this review while preparing to take my grandmother to a different emergency room because she has now developed a fever. At this point, after one discharge, a return to the ER, a hospitalization, and continued concerns about her condition, I no longer have confidence in the care she received at Monterey Park Hospital. No family should leave a hospital feeling that the safest option for their loved one is to immediately seek care somewhere else.

This past May 2024, my Neurologist at a major medical center in Los Angeles referred me to this…read moreSleep Disorders Center to undergo a sleep study. I even became housed in the same city, Whittier, to be near the Center, as I am currently a resident of a South Bay city more than 40 miles away and I use public transportation. I telephoned this Center on several occasions throughout the month of June and got absolutely no answer. Around the third or fourth call, someone did in fact answer the incoming phone line and answered my questions about the duration of the study. However, no one ever phoned me back about scheduling the study until this past week - - over one (1) month since my initial call to this Center. When someone did call me back, she seemed unsure about scheduling the appointment which she said the earliest date would be in October! When I gave her information she hesitantly requested and asked her to verify it by repeating it back to me, she became unexpectedly offended! This individual abruptly told me that she would have her supervisor call me back. Well, no one called me back and it has now been over a week ago that this person called. My suggestion to ABC Sleep Disorders Center is that they train their staff to understand that it's important to verify information as it's being told to them over the phone. This is what's called " customer service." I do not care to schedule with this sleep study group at any of their locations at this point because it seems as though they don't believe in professionalism or timeliness of doctor referrals.

Dr. Stephen Lee has horrible bedside manners! I had one appointment with him and he's the reason, I…read moream going to a totally different place. My first appointment was with the female NP, she did my ultrasound for 2 minutes & told me she didn't see a baby in the sac and rescheduled me for another appointment in 2 weeks. Mind you, there ultrasound machine is so OLD & prints out black pictures. The very next week, I go to a totally different clinic with a state of the art ultrasound. The midwife at that clinic took her time and did my ultrasound for 20 mins. She found 2 sacs, one with a baby & one without. I go back to Beverly Care and they have me see Dr.Lee since the female is not available. Dr.Lee is condescending & rude. He didn't take his time with the ultrasound, he didn't look for a second sac. He just told me it's only one baby and printed me out a super black picture. He even had the nerve to joke and ask me & my boyfriend have we made a decision on keeping our baby & it was not in a sincere genuine way. We obviously are keeping our baby or else we wouldnt be there, we would be at Planned Parenthood. I'm switching doctors as soon as I can.
