James came to fix several plumbing problems. He called to let me know he was on his way, arrived promptly, and listened carefully while I described my problems. He walked me through each job, and he was very efficient. While he worked he even chatted with me, which was so nice since I am a shut in. He fixed every problem, took pictures of each job, and answered all my questions courteously. His estimate was spot on; there were no hidden fees. ABC was recommended to us by a neighbor to re-landscape our front yard. They were amazing from the start. Jonathan Cavazos wrote our estimate and made the design plans. Each plant chosen showed that he truly listened to our needs. He brought pictures and explained the maintenance of each plant prior to starting. Their pricing was fair compared to other estimates and the service already seemed so much better. We had another company charge us for a "design" that included nothing but high maintenance, non-native plants.. Fast forward to the job itself. Jonathan was at our home the morning they began the work. This crew was excellent. They listened to what we wanted, worked hard all day, and cleaned up before they left. Contacted for some tree removal and landscaping work for a house I was selling. Walked the property with their rep and my wife, and the rep must have ignored everything my wife said. We wanted dead bushes removed from the beds around the house, but not the other plants, bulbs, etc. They removed EVERYTHING but 3 healthy bushes. All the plants my wife spent 20 years putting in were gone, hurting the curb appeal for resale. We paid the bill, and then complained as we weren't looking for any freebie. They apologized and said they'd cut down a dying tree in front for free and put in some plants in the bare beds so it would look better when on the market. This was the end of November. We close in January on the sale and they've yet to do any of the work they said they'd do as an apology. Naturally, since they got their money already. The rest of the work I contracted for was done properly, but the butchering of some of the beds, ignoring my wife's wishes, and then apologizing by lying about correcting their mistake is not acceptable. I'm usually happy with ABC's services, but am terribly disappointed with their latest work and customer service. I had the sprinklers checked over and some problems fixed. All may have seemed well but when I got back from two weeks out of town two zones were not working and seemed to have not been so while I was gone. When I called I was told, by an almost snippy young lady, that it would be over another two weeks for them to come back to recheck their previous work. Horrible! I have been trying to get my lights mailed to Lubbock for 2-3 weeks. I have been told the lights have been mailed on three different dates, I have also been told a manager of the store would call me. I have yet to have a manager of the store to call me and I still don't have my lights! I have been lied to over and over and the Austin office who takes the majority of the phone calls will not give me the direct number to speak with the manager. We had been a customer for 12 years, so I didn't hesitate to call when we had a problem with a "bad smell" in the back yard. I had to deal with a very unprofessional young man (Billy Wood). He first balked at looking under the porch, because the smell was not apparent at the time. I explained to him that our house was under contract and that I needed the problem addressed. He then proceeded to break a step on the porch. (He tried to pry up a board that was screwed in.) Once he had access to the dead animal, he still didn't want to pick it up. After I insisted, he finally disposed of it. He told me that he would come back the next day to repair the step. Four days later, I drove by to be sure that he had completed the job, and nothing had been done. After I went by the local ABC and complained, he called me on my cell and told me bluntly that he was in the exterminating business, not the carpentry business. Eventually he did repair the step, but I will NEVER use ABC again read more

Terrible. It took a whole week to just start the process of making an appointment, and the appointment couldn't even be made until later in the week. There were days between them ever getting back to us and we could never just schedule an appointment without a lot of difficulties. They also made it difficult to not set up a monthly plan and made it sound like it was required, when we continually asked for a one-time service. Also very pricey. We called another company in the area, and they came out within the hour and gave an affordable one-time service, and had extremely friendly workers, which is how the process should go. read more

I contracted with this company to treat a rodent problem. Since I hadn't had the best experience with pest companies in the past, I tried (without success) everything I could think of to solve the problem myself. Finally, I called this company on a recommendation. It was a pleasant surprise. These folks are extremely knowledgeable about pest issues and extremely effective in treating pest problems. So, in the treatment process I learned a lot but, even better, they got rid of the pests and gave me a guaranty that they won't be back for a year and I don't think they will. read more

As a long term customer (23 years), I recently sold my home that ABC served. I had paid for a full year of service in August, and moved in Dec. I cancelled my service in January, and requested a refund for unused portion of service. ABC has advised me that they don't "do" refunds on this type of services, but that I could have transferred the services to the new owner (who I don't know, and WHY would I pay for their pest services?) So very disappointed in this turn of events with a business I have supported for so long! They have certainly been taken off my list of potential companies to tend to my pest control in my new home. read more
