After reading all these reviews I was encouraged to reach out for information on vaults and headstone plaques. During my first call, whoever answered said they don't sell vaults and hung up on me before I could ask about plaques. I called again, same woman answered, I let her know we were also looking for plaques. She sounded frustrated and rudely responded that she doesn't sell plaques, she sells caskets. The process of planning a funeral during COVID was rather stressful for my family & I. ABC Caskets definitely helped relieve some of that stress. Being able to see the caskets in person, have Isabelle show us our options, and show us customization options was reassuring & very helpful. Unbelievably rude from the start of the phone call - I can't even take blame for triggering this woman, maybe she was "hangry" or she just hates herself. I called to get an approximate estimate of turnaround time from ordering a casket to delivery at the mortuary. Upon answering the phone, an older sounding lady begrudgingly answers the phone and I ask her about "approximate" turnaround time of ordering a casket and delivery. She rudely says, "what?!" So I calmly repeat my question, asking her about getting an estimate on turnaround time from ordering a casket through their establishment and delivery to Rose Hills in City of Industry. She says in the most obnoxious and flippant way with a sprinkle of sarcasm, "well it depends on when you order." She then lets out a deep breath like I'm keeping her from something more important. Without hesitation, I told her she was being so rude. I had to repeat myself to her because she didn't hear me the first time. I was happy to tell her again how rude she was being and hung up the phone. If you don't care about how an establishment treats you when taking your money, by all means, come here. With showroom models and a plant tour, we knew that a custom made coffin was the way to go. We picked one and put a different top on it along with our choice of interior and "mother" in embroidery on the inside lid. We picked one without exterior handles that gave it extremely smooth lines.The quality of the workmanship was flawless. The dark mahogany finish was beautiful in the sun light(see picture). Unfortunately, I lost my little brother RIP during the pandemic. Being our first loss in our family, I was clueless to where to start?, what to do?, I called ABC Caskets, and they were unable to suit me with what I was looking for due to it being an over-sized casket. I'm not sure if they carry over-sized or not, mine was urgent so I wasn't able to proceed. Isabelle was able to help me with so much information despite the fact I didn't purchase anything with her. She called me personally from her cell to make sure I was okay, gave me her condolences and Make sure I was able to find the casket for my brother. Isabelle kept in touch with me for two days straight explaining to me the process and steps that I have to go through making sure I understood helping me out during the stressful situation. The caskets that are hand produced at their factory are solid wood, not cheap veneer. They are beautifully crafted and they have many models to choose from. They have made a number of caskets for my wife's family over the years and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Isabelle was so easy to deal with. Everything was done over the phone and I felt so comfortable. I ordered a casket for my mother from their website and when I saw it, I was so impressed. It was absolutely beautiful and I received so many compliments from people at the funeral. Isabelle is honest, compassionate and very reasonable. I wanted a mahogany casket and ordered through an online site that promised next day delivery. It was full of flaws and they promised to replace it with a "perfect" one. They sent me a video of the replacement but it was grainy and the light was reflecting on it so I could not see it. They delivered the replacement and it had even more flaws: permanent marker over missing varnish (even though the website states 3 coats of varnish!!!), ripples in the wood, dents in the wood, etc. horrific condition ! I was so upset and stressed and didn't need this obstacle. These were imported caskets but full of flaws. I was then in a time crunch and calling around to get a replacement. I called Isabel at ABC Caskets and she assured me that her mahogany casket was made in their Los Angeles shop, and would be flawless. They just so had one being made and promised delivery in a couple of days. I needed them to come through as the ceremony was already set and the mortuary said that was the last day a casket could be delivered so they had enough time. I kept calling Isabel to confirm the progress of the casket and she kept assuring me it would be ready in time. She even sent me a picture after it was varnished. Their casket was absolutely beautiful, no flaws and true craftsmanship, not an import that was slapped together and full of flaws. I cannot thank them enough for expediting this order for me and for delivering on time a beautiful casket. No one needs the stress of dealing with defective caskets. If you need a beautiful Los Angeles well made casket this is your place, do not settle for less. He introduced us to his son and the son took over from there. It was like being with my own family. They are obviously close and work closely together. We told them our price range and they showed us the many caskets that filled our needs. I had seen one online I loved and irl it was gorgeous! Only bad thing the gentleman whom did the cloth overlay was on vacation and they didn't have any in the store room. So we went for our 2nd favorite. It was beautiful. We recently purchased a casket from ABC earlier this month. I discovered them through YELP, and stopped by their factory since it was close to my wife's office and the reviews were favorable. Buying a casket is never a pleasant experience especially when the death of a loved one is completely unexpected and tragic. Keep in mind, the location is a factory with a factory feel; guaranteed USA made. The "middle-man" is cut out and significant savings are passed on. We had already decided on a casket at another location when I stopped by the ABC factory. We ended up with an impeccable wood casket at a fraction of what the Mortuary was going to charge us. This a family owned business that is proud of the crafted products they provide. Undoubtedly, this is what has kept them in business for over 80 years. Remember, this is not a Mortuary or Cemetery service with staff trained to deal with our emotional and grieving issues. They are also not out to take advantage of people.
