Although this is the only bartending school I have attended I am more than sure that this place is the best bartending school in NYC. I attended the school only three months ago and within the first month of finishing the course i found my first bartending gig in Astoria Queens and am making extremely good tip due to the skills and tips I learned from ABC bartending school. Something you should know about me is that me and school/instructions do not get along. I dont like to pay attention to things that are mundane and redundant. Thankfully the teachers here have so much passion and energy for teaching the class that they kept my attention every minute of the class. They made the class fun, interesting, and informative. Stephanie (morning instructor) is the best as she is extremely skilled and experienced as a bartender. She also makes sure that every student understands every bit of what she is teaching, which isnt hard to do since there are less than 10 students in each class. Even after finishing the course the school updates their facebook page "Harvey Wallbanger" (its a drink name) daily with bartending job opportunities in every borough of NY along with many articles and tips for existing and amateur bartenders in any situation. If you taken this course and felt you did not learn much then bartending probably just is not for you because there is no way anyone or any other school can teach you how to bartend on a professional level better than ABC bartending school. And it is only a plus to be able to meet such awesome and diverse people in the class (both students and instructors. Embrace diversity people this is New York!!! read more

After about a week of researching I decided to not choose this establishment as my school. The bar setting here just seems so unrealistic compared to other schools. Not to mention kinda well depressing. I wanted to make sure I got my moneys worth. ESPECIALLY since there are alot of scam schools out there. So i did my homework and went into several different schools to compare. When i entered, Immidiatelty their receptionist was rude and nasty. I asked her simple questions about why their school was the right choice for me. She talked so bad about the other schools, mainly New York Bartending school..saying how their drink menu was outdated and instructors were old and boring. I Went to check it out for myself and turns out she was just saying false statements about them to get me sign up to theirs. I choose New York Bartending school over ABC because 1. Their receptionist werent pushy at all to get me to sign up unlike ABC. 2. They did not talk bad about their competitors 3. Their instructors were much nicer and humble and definitely not "OLD AND OUTDATED" as she blatantly stated. To those interested in taking bartending classes I suggest you do your homework and seek out each place and compare. Im glad I did because I made the right call! read more

I loved it. I now know how to make over 150 drinks, even the one's that are really hard to remember. I shopped around and far and away it was the best price around, period! That being true, the fact that the instructors all have years of experience made me realize that it was all totally worth it! I know getting a job is hard, but ABC really taught me how to make all the drinks, and the teachers told me about everything that could ever happen in a bar. I know that made it a lot easier for me to go out there and get a job. I found myself confident in what I knew and in all my interviews. The fact that the teachers sent job leads to me based on the categories of bars that I as interested in, allowed me to get a bar tending job pretty quickly. I mean it s hard out there, but I certainly felt better after taking the class than before, and now that I am working I know I owe a lot of it to ABC. Thanks guys, you're the best! read more

I LOVE ABC BARTENDING!!! I took the 2 week morning classes and I felt like that was paced perfectly for me. I had time to remember the drinks and everything we learned and I didn't feel rushed at all. I truly enjoyed every minute spent here and the instructors are great. Of course they don't land you a job, you have to go out there and sell yourself, show the managers of bars what you're made of and if they like you they'll hire you. ABC gives you leads on places that have called them up looking for bartenders so they know you don't have much experience. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this school. I love that I can go to any of their locations around the US (they have a lot) and practice on my own or take the course again for free whenever I want. I love Matt and Stephanie and you can tell they love what they do which makes learning how to bartend easier and more fun. Thanks for everything guys. I loved it!!! read more

Awesome experience. The instructors really know their stuff, and are there to help you out more than you realize. I say this as not only a recent graduate, but as someone that took one day of class at another school before choosing this place. You not only learn a skill, but you will have fun doing it - the staff are some of the most chill people in the city. You just don't really get the hands-on experience that you need to get a real feel for the job by watching someone else do it on youtube. You not only learn how to mix drinks, but get tips on the latest trends and "in" drinks today Once you graduate, a simple phone call lets you come back in (if there is enough room in that particular class) and refresh your memory for free, for life. That's not just a BS claim, it's in your contract! I'm actually going back ASAP to get Tropical drinks down just in case I end up working somewhere that serves them a lot. read more

I would have to say I am glad that I went to this school. They guide you & give you the tools necessary to go out into the world of bartending. It was very informative & the instructors knew what they were talking about on how things are really done, both the pros & cons to the industry. I am completely new to restaurants, bar & the food industries and because of their help I was able to get into a very decent establishment in less than a week upon passing the course. Honestly, there is no secret recipe for succeeding. No one is going to get you where you want to go in life except yourself. You & only you put forth the effort needed in order to be successful in whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. A real tragedy in a person's life is their poverty of aspirations to any realistic goals. Yes, I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to get into the world of bartending. read more

Had an amazing experience at ABC Bartending School in NYC--shoutout to Stephanie and Stevie, who were absolute rockstars. They made the class genuinely fun while also packing it with real-world knowledge. You can tell they truly care about every student's success. It's not just about pouring drinks--it's about building confidence, skills, and a path into the industry. What really stood out was how supportive and approachable they were. They treat you like more than just a student--they treat you like someone they genuinely want to see succeed. And on top, they offer resume help and interview prep at no extra cost. From start to finish, the environment was upbeat, welcoming, and actually a blast. If you're thinking about taking the course--do it. The value goes way beyond the basics, and Stephanie and Stevie are a big part of what makes it so worthwhile. -Mike K. read more

ABC was one of the best decisions I could have ever made! The classes were super informative and the staff was excellent (especially Susan!). The class was very fast paced but easy to understand and easy to keep up with. The material covered everything from mixology, to how to pour a stout as opposed to an ale, to how to open a bottle of wine. If you think you already know the tricks of the trade of bartending, you don't. But after taking ABC's course you will! They are also very understanding (our exam was scheduled the day of the hurricane - obviously they cancelled class but we were able to reschedule on our own time). ABC was such a great experience! I wouldn't be working for Sammy's Roadhouse in Hoboken right now if I hadn't taken the initiative and signed up for classes at NYC best bartending school, ABC Bartending! read more

I got my bartending certificate from ABC Bartending School and it was worth every penny. It's amazing how much you can learn in two weeks. The instructors made the class fun and since they have real-world experience they have their own tips and tricks that they pass on to you. Since finishing the program I have worked at a number of private parties and events, as well as had a full-time seasonal position at a prestigious country club. Many of my classmates now work at high-volume bars and clubs in the city. The school posts job opportunities on a Facebook account for graduates to see and apply for, since many bars come to schools looking for new talent. My brother recently completed the course too and also loved it. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking to become a bartender. read more

Matt Matt Matt . I never though that attending abc bartending school would be so difficult for the simple fact that I knew absolutely nothing about liquor until i met Matt. Day time with steph was cool but however Matt adds more and give you more of an understanding of how the drinks are suppose to be made professionally and not to mention his great personality. He made sure we knew the drinks before we moved on to anything else and if you needed to go back and review, he had no problem with it. No matter how much help you need on anything and everything Matt is always there like he was there for me. He never gave up on me and I will be recommending and directing students to ABC bartending because I think it's worth it. A+ for you Matt . See you when I come back for my refreshing course. read more

So I'm going to blunt as SH*T! This is such an incredible staff at this school. They are EXTREMELY PATIENT and caring of the knowledge they are sharing. I haven't felt this welcomed at a school in a long time. VERY PROFESSIONAL. I'm super pleased to be under their tutelage. All you have to do is LISTEN! I guarantee you will be a successful bartender. Stephanie - thanks so much for your dedication and working one-on-one Matt - thanks so much for your knowledge of the business Stevie - thanks for putting the confidence into students To you all - your patience, your trust, your guidance, your attention will never go unrecognized. I'm super grateful for this school and most importantly, the people who teach. You won't regret this choice of becoming ATAP CERTIFIED! read more

Owner Tony Sylvestre called me an Asshole for no reason. I emailed asking if there were any future groupon deals or specials. He responded with one word, "NO" in capitals. I told him great response, good way to get business and that I would pass it along to my friends. Word for word he responded by saying "Asshole's respond like u, pass that on but be truthful when u do, the truth is the truth". What kind of business OWNER talks like this to a prospective student or anyone asking about his business. I wasn't rude to him, persistent or annoying. Send me a message and I'll forward you the entire email if you doubt what I am saying. Based on this, I don't see why I would ever attend one of his schools. read more

I just completed the 2wk class, 4hrs per day and it was great all the way around. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, and they give you "REAL" world advice & scenarios about the business which I especially appreciated. I like the small class size, our group was very friendly and we all supported each other. The class provided the basics for tending bar, lots of practice and you learn some good techniques. If I had one criticism, it would be for the school to invest in upgrading and/or replacing some of the equipment (sink drainage; bottle pours). I feel prepared to go out and secure a gig! Thank you ABC team. read more

After doing my homework and researching all the bartending schools in NYC. ABC was the only inexpensive school and when you join the class, they also give you lifetime information. I learned a lot and I also passed the first part of my test but I have to go back to take the 2nd part. Stephanie is a good teacher and the other lady as well (cannot remember her name). I recommend this school to anybody who wants to be a bartender. For my status as a bartender, I bartend at my friends or family events and also at some of the NYWCA events. read more
